The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 18: She Has a Younger Sister
The little girl stays at home every day, and lately Leo has been busy. He wonders if he should find a school for her so she can meet people.
"Holly, do you want to go to school, hmm?"
Leo asked Holly.
Holly has no friends here; she is unfamiliar with this place, and Leo doesn’t have much time to spend with her. At least there are more people at school.
"Is that possible?"
Holly blinked her eyes filled with hopeful laughter, looking particularly expectant.
"Holly can go to whichever university she wants. Brother can arrange for Holly to get in."
Leo gently ruffled Holly’s hair as he spoke, his voice slightly tender. Indeed, if Holly wants to go, it’s not a problem.
"Really?"
Holly’s eyes are brimming with hopeful light, her dark, grape-like eyes seem to speak.
Leo: "Yes, indeed."
A hint of smile flickered across Holly’s eyes, pondering how to persuade Leo to let her go to school.
"Then, brother, can I go to Veridian University? I’ve heard this school is excellent."
Holly looked at Leo, her expression full of hesitation, feeling a bit embarrassed as she spoke.
Veridian University is the best in Bexley, with all top-notch majors and a wealth of talented individuals.
Leo didn’t hesitate before speaking: "Sure."
He knows the principal there and can have the principal open the back door for Holly; it’s not a big issue.
"Thank you, brother, you’re really great."
Holly’s smile was particularly genuine, like a child receiving candy, extremely joyful.
Leo immediately called the principal of Veridian University. The principal found it slightly embarrassing, but still agreed in the end.
Leo’s favor is something the principal needs to honor.
"Brother, isn’t this unfair? Others work hard to get in, and you can get me in with just one word."
Holly’s little face crumpled; she looked innocently at Leo, her eyes full of embarrassment.
——
Leo took Holly to Veridian University for registration. Holly followed closely behind Leo, looking timid all over.
"Young Master Grant, you’re here! Is this girl Holly?"
Principal Hayes warmly welcomed Leo, his smile was quite kind and amiable.
"Hello Principal Hayes."
Timidly, Holly peeked out from behind Leo, giving off a soft and adorable impression.
After greeting, Principal Hayes arranged a major and class for Holly. The little girl was interested in painting, so she was assigned to the painting major.
"Brother, will you come pick me up this afternoon?"
At the school gate, Holly looked at Leo and slowly asked.
"Yes, you can call brother after class."
University classes aren’t scheduled all day; conveniently, there was a class this afternoon, so Holly stayed at school for class.
"Boss, why did you come to Veridian?"
As Leo just left, a girl with a double pigtail showed up in front of Holly, asking in surprise.
The girl named Diana Curtis is in her second year at Veridian, majoring in painting, just like Holly.
"To have fun, it’s quite boring."
Holly yawned as she said.
"Boss, you’re not someone who would find things boring."
Diana couldn’t believe Holly would be bored; Holly always uses her time precisely, never allowing herself to waste time on meaningless things.
"Do you know Nancy Miller?"
A smile rose at the corner of Holly’s lips, but not reaching her eyes. She slowly asked, her tone calm. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"I do, she’s the campus belle of Veridian, why?"
Diana nodded; she knew of Nancy but wasn’t familiar, aware that Nancy was very pretty, the kind that remains pure amidst the mud and unsullied.
Nancy Miller is a freshman, a dance student with an impeccable demeanor, very popular among boys and liked by girls too. Her character is commendable.
"She’s my sister."
Holly smirked as she spoke slowly, laughter at the corner of her lips.
Nancy is her half-sister; Holly grew up with her mother, hence she took her mother’s last name.
Holly is actually very pretty, but she’s not the same type as Nancy, making it hard to compare directly.
On closer inspection, Holly’s features are more delicate.
"Oh my god, Boss, you have a sister?"
Diana’s eyes widened, looking at Holly in utter disbelief. Knowing Holly for a long time, she never knew Holly had a sister.
"Yes."
Holly’s lips curled into a smile.
She knew Nancy as a sister, but Nancy didn’t know of her existence. Miles Miller guarded Nancy closely.
"Nancy is Miles Miller’s daughter from The Miller Group, ranked fifth in Bexley. Boss, are you certain?"
Diana asked again. Living in Bexley, she knew quite a bit about it; she understood that Miles married once with only one daughter, and he never got involved in affairs outside, maintaining a spotless reputation.
"Yes, often what you see is just superficial."
Holly crossed her arms and let out a cold chuckle.
How Miles achieved his current status and position is something he knows well. Her mother chose not to compete, but that doesn’t mean Holly won’t fight for her rights.
She’s not interested in The Miller Group, but she’ll claim what rightfully belongs to her.
"Alright, let’s go to class now."
Holly checked the time and slowly spoke.
Class?
Diana blinked, "Boss, do you need to attend classes?"
Holly has already finished her studies; she’s excelled academically and has many talents. Diana thought Holly was just here to sign her name, not expecting she wanted to attend classes for real.
"Yes, I need to attend class properly."
Holly replied; she’s truly a good girl, bound to attend class seriously, or else it’ll be hard to explain to Leo.
Diana: "..."
She couldn’t figure out Holly’s intention; she simply found it odd.
"Boss, which major are you in?"
Diana suddenly remembered she didn’t know Holly’s major, blindly following her along.
"I’m in my second year, painting major, just like yours."
Holly slowly replied.
"Boss, I feel like you’re here to steal my spotlight."
Diana quipped.
Her professional grades have always been outstanding, consistently ranking at the top. Holly showing up seemed like she was here to overshadow her, to take the top spot.
"I’m quite low-key, like being a quiet person."
Holly remarked, entering the classroom with Diana, automatically choosing to sit in the last row.
Diana paused at the front row, then decisively went to the back to sit with Holly.
