The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 130: Affection Points Are Increasing
The wind in December is really cold. Wendy Wright made a big table full of food, saying she wanted to invite Holly over for a meal.
When she was young, she was a very talented person, but later she became a housewife. Now she has a job too, although the salary is not very high, but at least she can support herself.
The job was introduced by Holly, for which Wendy is very grateful, and she increasingly likes this kid.
Holly snuggled on the sofa, watching TV with Nancy Miller. The two girls were happily chatting, discussing the plot.
Holly actually has a girlish nature, likes to chase celebrities, dramas, and books, and has many hobbies, but she never showed it.
"Here, have a cup of hot milk."
Wendy brought over two cups of hot milk, placing them in front of Holly and Nancy, a heavy smile on her lips.
"Thank you, Auntie."
A sweet smile adorned Holly’s face.
Being cared for like this really feels wonderful. She likes this feeling very much.
The feeling of being cared about is actually great, even if there are already many people in this world who care about her, she wouldn’t mind having one more.
"Why hasn’t your boyfriend finished work yet?"
Wendy glanced at the clock on the wall—it was already four o’clock, and Leo Grant showed no sign of coming.
She had invited Holly and Leo over for a meal because she wanted to meet Holly’s boyfriend. She had heard of Leo’s name, but wanted to vet him personally.
She already liked Holly a lot, and now, knowing Holly was dating someone, she wanted to see what kind of person he was.
"He’s quite busy today."
Holly’s tone was easygoing.
Indeed, Leo was busy today. He had left early in the morning and had told her beforehand that he’d be coming home late due to the day’s tasks.
Wendy’s invitation to dinner was quite sudden, and though Leo had planned to drop by, Holly had told him to handle his matters first.
Work is important, and she’s not a pampered person requiring constant companionship; as long as Leo can spend time with her often, that’s good enough.
"Really busy?"
Wendy looked at Holly’s eyes and asked again.
Whether Leo was genuinely busy or just pretending, Wendy wasn’t sure, as she wasn’t familiar with him.
Perhaps it was because of Miles Miller; Wendy was very sensitive to the word busy when it came to work.
She wasn’t dumb and had long known Miles often used work as an excuse to come home late or not at all—no one is busy every day.
Miles simply didn’t want to come home early; he could indulge in extravagance outside with great flair.
"Yes, your timing was quite rushed, right when he’s busy. He mentioned he’d skip work to come over, but I think work is important."
Holly held her hot milk, speaking slowly with a particularly sweet smile on her lips.
"Then let’s set a time next time in advance."
Wendy patted her own head and spoke slowly.
She was indeed too hasty today. In the morning, she spontaneously decided to have Holly and Leo over for dinner, without thoroughly considering it.
A dinner invitation like this should be arranged ahead; she really hadn’t thought it through.
Holly nodded: "Okay."
"Does your mom know about your relationship?"
Wendy sat down beside Holly, curiously asking.
She rarely heard Holly mention Rose Sawyer, but Wendy had a strong impression of Rose.
Rose was just like her name, looking delicate and soft, but her character was very tenacious.
Wendy admired Rose quite a bit; she could decisively remove herself from situations and leave without hesitation.
After learning about Nancy Miller, Holly decisively divorced Miles Miller, without a hint of hesitation.
"She’s very laid-back; I can tell her during the New Year."
Holly shook her head. She planned to talk to Rose face-to-face upon returning. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
She and Rose rarely talked on the phone; they don’t call unless it’s necessary.
Now, Rose lives a pastoral life, very leisurely, so why would she think about her? Of course, she doesn’t.
Every month, Holly sends Rose her living expenses regularly. Rose now lives a life where she doesn’t need to work and still receives living expenses.
"Is she still single?"
Wendy was curious to ask. Rose looked sweet and was very popular in Bexley; she married Miles so he could be a live-in son-in-law.
"Yes, she often hangs out with her girlfriends and travels the world."
Holly nodded slowly, speaking about how comfortable Rose’s life is now.
No need to work, and able to travel everywhere.
Wendy: "That’s nice."
In their conversation, the doorbell rang, and a smile gradually grew on Holly’s lips.
It was probably Leo who arrived.
Thinking about seeing Leo soon made Holly’s heart warm; seeing him made her particularly happy.
Wendy went to open the door, and sure enough, Leo was standing outside, dressed sharply, carrying a large bag of things.
"Hello, Auntie."
Seeing Wendy at the door, Leo greeted her politely.
"Please come in, come in."
Before knowing Leo’s identity, Wendy was quite casual. Now that she knew, she couldn’t help but feel a bit reserved.
Leo was quite an impressive person, and Holly was lucky to receive Leo’s favor.
Leo treating Holly well is truly wonderful; if not, no matter how high his status is, it’s useless.
"Why did you bring so many things?"
Wendy reached out to take the things from Leo, speaking slowly.
She just wanted him over for a meal, not expecting him to bring so many things.
"It’s my first time here, I should bring something."
Leo spoke politely.
"Brother."
Upon seeing Leo, Holly’s eyes curved with joy. She ran over, jumping into his arms.
Leo’s embrace was warm, making her feel especially secure. Seeing Leo inexplicably lifted her mood.
"Did you miss me?"
Leo freed one hand to gently ruffle Holly’s hair, his voice tender.
He liked the little girl’s clingy nature, allowing him to feel she cared about him, had him in her heart, and perhaps couldn’t do without him.
Nancy sat on the sofa, watching Holly and Leo interact and covering her eyes.
It was simply too much to watch—they were shameless.
"Missed you, brother."
Holly looked up at Leo with a smile in her eyes.
She liked Leo more and more.
There is a saying that a girl’s affection in a relationship is constantly increasing, escalating incrementally until it fills up.
Holly felt she was like this; the extent to which she liked Leo truly grew stronger day by day.
