The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 129: The Feeling of Being Spoiled
Holly Sawyer countered, "Really?"
She didn’t deny her own acting skills, but the clever Leo Grant should have been able to see through her.
"This amnesia is a bit poor quality."
Leo Grant covered his mouth with a light chuckle, having realized it much earlier. Back then, perhaps he just couldn’t bear to expose her soft and cute act, or maybe it was for other reasons.
"So you knew my motives weren’t pure long ago?"
Holly hugged a pillow, pouting at Leo, her face filled with displeasure.
Leo didn’t deny it, "Yeah."
Some words were actually said specifically in front of Holly; he wasn’t foolish enough to not notice at all.
"Brother, you’re not a good person, just watching me act like that."
Holly was instantly displeased, expressing her dissatisfaction.
She suddenly felt like a clown performing in front of Leo, who had seen through it all along.
Leo curled his lips, "Very cute."
He had always thought Holly was adorable, so much so that he didn’t want to expose her, so much that he wanted to keep her by his side forever.
Holly: "..."
Holly expressed her refusal to converse with Leo.
She did think she was really "cute" back then, cute to the point of explosion.
"What, are you angry?"
Seeing Holly’s puffed-up cheeks, Leo laughed, his smile extraordinarily gentle.
The little girl’s angry expression was also very cute; she looked adorable no matter how one looked at her.
"No."
Holly shook her head, turning away from Leo. She said she wasn’t angry, but inside she really didn’t want to pay attention to him anymore.
It was truly infuriating.
"Here, have some candy."
Leo pulled out a few lollipops, white peach oolong flavored, and placed them in Holly’s palm, with a smile that was remarkably tender.
The little girl would be fine after some coaxing; it wasn’t a big problem.
Holly looked at the candies in her hand, feeling a warm sensation inside, but she remained outwardly indifferent.
Leo wasn’t a fan of sweets, and wasn’t interested in candy, but because she liked candy, especially white peach oolong flavored ones, Leo made sure to always have some on him.
This detail was truly heartwarming, and Holly felt touched inside.
However, when angry, one must make their attitude clear and can’t just be mollified by a few candies; otherwise, he’d think she’s that easy to please.
"Still angry?"
Leo laughed silently, gently ruffling Holly’s hair.
Hmm, the little girl was a bit hard to appease.
"Here, have a candy to ease your anger."
Leo unwrapped a lollipop and held it out to Holly’s lips, patiently coaxing her.
The little girl needed coaxing when she was angry, and if he didn’t succeed in his first attempt, he’d naturally keep trying. However, the way his little girl looked when she was angry was really quite cute.
Holly looked at the unwrapped lollipop; it was indeed tempting, but she turned her face away to avoid looking at it.
Well, she wasn’t that easy to soften.
"If you don’t eat it, it’ll go to waste."
Leo held the lollipop, giving the impression he was about to throw it away, his smile particularly broad. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"I don’t like sweets, you know."
Leo slowly said, his tone exceptionally gentle.
Holly knew very well that he had no interest in sweets.
"Wasting food."
Holly glared at Leo, then reached out to grab the lollipop from his hand and stuffed it into her mouth in a huff.
What a waste, to think he would throw away her lollipop.
Her love for food meant she’d even consider picking up food from the floor to eat, though she’d never actually do it because the floor was indeed a bit dirty.
"Don’t be angry anymore, okay? I’ll buy you candy."
Leo gently ruffled Holly’s hair, his eyes filled with amusement.
"Someone might think I could be tricked with just one piece of candy."
Holly rolled her eyes at Leo, her mouth full of lollipop and her expression one of displeasure.
Leo laughed lightly, looking at Holly with tender eyes. He thought the little girl was just that easy to please, that one candy could indeed win her over.
The little girl loved to eat, and placing something delicious in front of Holly would make her overjoyed. Once Holly was happy, everything else would be easier.
"Who said that? My little girl isn’t easy to trick, am I right?"
Leo gently ruffled Holly’s hair, his voice exceedingly gentle.
His little girl was smart, truly sharp-minded, and knew many things, wearing many disguises.
He could easily keep her if her heart wasn’t already with him; otherwise, how could he ever have such luck?
Holly turned away from Leo, but a faint smile appeared on her lips.
With Leo, she could show all her girlish emotions, acting spoiled, being cute, or even throwing little fits.
The feeling was really nice, as if she could truly be a little girl in front of Leo.
Holly loved this feeling, realizing how wonderful it was to be someone’s favorite.
"Here, white peach oolong flavored cake."
Leo then, like a magician, took out a small box from behind and placed it in front of Holly.
He was gentle like jade, carrying a slight smile.
If a lollipop couldn’t appease, use a small cake. If the cake didn’t work, try something else.
The little girl had such a passion for food; there had to be something that would suit Holly’s taste eventually.
Leo also knew Holly wasn’t truly angry, just wanting to feel comforted.
Coaxing girls requires patience.
"I don’t want it."
Holly turned her face away proudly, though she was actually quite tempted inside.
A little cake, huh? She really wanted to eat it.
Leo’s smile lingered at the corner of his lips.
"Young master, someone sent this over."
Mrs. Hayes came in carrying a large pile of things, setting them on the table before leaving.
Holly glanced at the items on the table, her eyes lighting up suddenly. She recognized the packaging very well; they were things from the shop Leo often bought for her, all white peach oolong flavored goodies.
All her favorites.
"These are all for you, are you sure you don’t want them?"
Leo opened a package, releasing the aroma of the treats inside. Leo slightly curled his lips, looking at Holly with a smile.
Hmm, if lollipops and cakes weren’t enough, surely the temptation of milk tea, creamy mochi ice, and various other treats would suffice?
The bag contained more than twenty different items, all white peach oolong flavored, all flavors the little girl loved.
"Alright, considering how delicious they look, I’m not angry anymore."
Holly’s tone was slightly reluctant, but a smile danced in her eyes.
That feeling of being pampered by someone was probably just like this.
