The Shining Star Above The Heaven-Chapter 1072: Meeting With the Leaders
After waiting for a few moments, Aldrian’s figure finally came into the sight of all the leaders in the hall. The moment they saw Aldrian, their expressions were not much different from everyone who saw him for the first time.
Especially the descendants or successors of those leaders, they were taken aback by how young Aldrian was. The men could not help but admit that Aldrian’s appearance was extraordinary, and even his presence alone exuded a mysterious aura and charm.
The ladies could not hide the flush on their faces, their eyes glimmering as if they had discovered a treasure.
’No wonder Princess Xena was blushing. All this time she could see this man. How envious,’ some of the ladies thought.
"I heard that all the esteemed guests here wanted to meet with me. It is truly a pleasure to meet all of you. I did not think that my coming to this world would bring all of you bigshots here. I truly feel honored, especially after all of you have just experienced a great war," Aldrian said.
"Ah, Your Excellency is too modest. With Your Excellency’s reputation and what you have already done for this world, it is only right that we came here to meet you and pay our respects. This is nothing much," one of the leaders said.
He was a middle-aged man with two small separated mustaches. From his expression alone, it already showed that he was an opportunistic person, and he seized the chance to leave a good impression.
The others who saw him clicked their tongues, as they already knew the personality of this man.
He was the leader of one of the largest merchant families in the world, with influence that could rival a great sect or even a nation. He seized the chance to look good in front of Aldrian as soon as possible, hoping to build his image faster than anyone else present.
After all, if someone wished to be remembered, they had to do something that would leave a lasting impression.
The first greeting was one such example.
Aldrian knew this, and he did not mind. Instead, he slightly smiled and continued.
"Well, what I did was only what I was supposed to do as someone who hates the devils. Although from your perspective I may have done much, the true heroes are all of you, the people of this world who fought those devils to defend your home. You did not choose to flee from your world. You stood your ground and fought through harsh battles."
"I admire all of you, and if you have time in the future, please feel free to visit my empire in the Ancient Blue Gate World. I hope that both of our worlds can grow closer in bond even though the distance between us is far."
After Aldrian’s greeting, many leaders began approaching him, wanting to know more about him.
Many tried to appear as amicable as possible toward him, hoping to make him feel comfortable while not falling behind others seeking to build a closer connection with him.
"I will visit Your Excellency’s empire in the future. After all, I already had plans for that even while the war was still raging," one of the leaders said.
"Yes, the same goes for me. I will visit the Ancient Blue Gate World."
"Your Excellency, if you have time, you could visit my sect. There are special herbs that only grow within my sect’s territory, and all of them might bring benefits to you."
Various expressions of goodwill were spoken by the leaders, and Aldrian simply entertained all of them. As the conversation continued to develop, one of the leaders suddenly touched upon a topic that had become the question in everyone’s mind.
"Your Excellency, I heard that your destination was the Central Region of Heaven before you were accidentally thrown into this world. Are you truly going to end the devils’ terror alone? I do not doubt Your Excellency’s strength, but the Central Region of Heaven is truly different from any other place."
"It is the headquarters of the devils, filled with many powerful enemies, and who knows what might be waiting for you there. Are you certain that you want to go alone? Why not bring someone with you to assist in the battle?"
Aldrian smiled. "This battle is my battle, and it is my personal decision to go directly to the Central Region of Heaven. I cannot bring anyone only for them to lose their lives. I would feel bad if that happened."
"It is much easier if I move alone, and I do not have to think about others."
The others felt that Aldrian was truly confident, even arrogant, as he spoke as if others would only hinder him there.
But they could not refute him considering how powerful he was. Although most of them had not yet seen Aldrian in action directly, many witnesses had already seen it, and the end of the war in this kingdom was also because of him.
"If anyone here is thinking of joining me, forget it. You do not have to. Moreover, I know that your war with the devils is not entirely over yet. Your nearby worlds are still fighting the devils, and for this world to defeat the devils first means that you need to help them. Isn’t that right?" Aldrian continued.
Those who had such thoughts understood and decided not to bring up their offers to help him in the Central Region of Heaven.
Aldrian was also right regarding their fight with the devils not being finished yet. They still needed to help the other worlds defeat the devils.
They could not simply sit idly and watch other worlds being encroached upon by the devils when they had already achieved victory. Their relationship with nearby worlds was close, and each of them would offer help if something happened to another world.
The most obvious example was when the Revitas World was first invaded by the devils. The nearby worlds quickly sent reinforcements to help. Only after the devils invaded their own worlds did they have to focus on defending themselves.
The factions of this world could not simply abandon the other worlds. Even if some of them held reservations about sending their troops to fight another war after suffering through one themselves, they still had to do it.
They did not want to damage the relationships between worlds, as they needed one another.
Sect Master Erlang, who stood near Aldrian, sighed and nodded.
"Correct, Your Excellency. We still need to help those worlds. There is no way we would simply stay back if we do not want our relationship with them to be damaged. After what they did for us, it would not be right to just leave them alone. They must already know about the situation of our world and will likely send an envoy to request reinforcements."
Aldrian nodded. "Good."
After Aldrian spoke, Ling Xiao entered the hall wearing robes whose style was truly different from the others. It made him look conspicuous.
His young and handsome face attracted attention, yet something else astonished many, especially the sword cultivators.
They could sense Ling Xiao’s extraordinariness. The feeling he gave was like a walking sword, making their skin tingle.
Even without releasing his aura or revealing his sword, everyone knew that this man was a sword cultivator.
A powerful sword cultivator.
"That is why, on this occasion, I also wish to say that I will help all of you by sending one of my trusted subordinates, Ling Xiao. With his presence, I guarantee that he will bring victory in every battle. The devils may be strong, but my subordinate will show them that they are nothing before his sharp sword," Aldrian said as he gave a signal to Ling Xiao.
"He is a one-man army who can face thousands of enemies with ease. Let him face those devils, and soon there will be no devils left in his sight. It is not an exaggeration to say that his strength is no less than mine when he uses his sword."
The others were surprised upon hearing that.
This man was actually that strong?
If Aldrian guaranteed his strength like that, they could not consider Ling Xiao merely a subordinate.
If what Aldrian said was true, did that not mean Ling Xiao could be considered stronger than any of them?
Thinking about it made them shudder.
Aldrian himself was already incomprehensible to them and had made them believe he was an existence beyond their reach.
But he said that there was another being just like him? 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Was a cultivator like that common in the Ancient Blue Gate World?
"I see. If Your Excellency says so, then it gives us peace of mind. We are truly relieved that Your Excellency still wishes to help us," Sect Master Erlang said.
"Your Excellency, if I may know, when are you going to depart for the Central Region of Heaven?" one of the women leaders asked.
"Tomorrow," Aldrian answered shortly.
