The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL]-Chapter 479: Punishment
Chapter 479: Punishment
Well, definitely not today—
Not when the supposed groom was passed out cold in his future husband’s arms.
And this was the scene Princess Kira and Ada walked into upon rushing back to the dungeon-linked space.
Frankly, she had wanted to witness the final showdown, but the Academy headmaster had called her in for a meeting about her continued enrollment.
She understood the concern, but obviously, she was staying. And she had made that declaration loud and proud before sprinting out of the office.
Unfortunately, even with their dramatic exit, they still missed the showdown.
But thank the stars for modern technology.
Within minutes, she had pulled up every trending video from every angle. And she. Was. Living.
"Wow! I feel like I want to punch someone! It’s so exciting! Ada, how could we have missed this?!"
"Look at the little toothpick! Who would’ve thought he had it in him?!"
She was halfway through her fifth rewatch before she finally asked, "Wait...didn’t he win? Then why is Ollie like that now?"
It was Luca who answered. "Oh, because my brother couldn’t handle it. Kyle wanted to hear him say something, and my brother passed out."
Princess Kira blinked. Then looked at Kyle, expectantly.
But Kyle just shrugged. "Don’t wait for it. We’d be lucky if he wakes up today. He’s exhausted. We all are. But at least we don’t have to go to class tomorrow."
The princess, however, was entirely focused on how Ollie was bundled up in Kyle’s coat, peacefully snoozing in his arms. Meanwhile, Kyle kept patting his head in soothing circles like it was second nature.
Princess Kira sighed. She also wanted something like that. She made a mental note to study this technique so she’d know what to do when it was her turn. Maybe she ought to ask how strong to pat, because it may not be good if she whacks her Bunbun’s head off.
Ada, still watching Kyle stroke the mop’s hair, casually asked, "So what happened to Lady Vela? Had she been disposed of properly?"
The silence that followed was...uncomfortable, especially for a few humans.
Luca blinked. "She ran away. But wait—what do you mean ’disposed of’?"
Princess Kira answered, coolly, "Well, in our culture, she would’ve been dead. Or at least decapitated."
Decapitated?!
"???"
Golden eyes trembled at her openly said words. "Isn’t that too brutal?!"
"She tried to homewreck," Princess Kira said matter-of-factly. "Intentional ones deserve punishment. Of course, since Ollie and Kyle aren’t officially married, it was technically fair game, so I was pretty sure she’d be alive. But still."
She shrugged, dead serious.
Then she narrowed her eyes playfully. "And as for brutality, I’m not sure, but imagine someone showing up and saying Xavier was theirs. And then you can think about what would be too brutal."
Luca looked scandalized. "Wha-what?!"
Well, he’s experienced it before, even when he didn’t know the people involved. And decapitation hadn’t been fun; it was brutal and something he’d rather not experience again. But for some reason, his chest felt really tight upon hearing threats like that. "Maybe we could try solving it with words?"
"Hmmm. Words could work, but what happens when they don’t? Just like with Funky Smell, who only stopped because Kyle here had said such nice words in public!"
The little chipmunk pondered it and figured that sometimes there were people who really don’t know when to stop. But maybe it would be too much to decapitate them? Maybe he could just hinder them?
Xavier had been listening and observing, deciding to move even closer when he saw those brows furrowing in frustration. His wife was really too nice. Because he, for one, was inwardly in favor of at least decapitation.
"Luca, we’re married. If anyone tries that, you have all the legal rights to respond. If you don’t want decapitation or death, you can take them for their assets. That would be better, right?"
"Assets?"
It was like a magic word, for the deeply concentrating money grubber was suddenly alert. And from the side, Kyle could already see a new side business for when Xavier’s identity is officially revealed. It’s just that, who would prepare all the paperwork for it?
"Yes, particular untoward behaviors would allow you to get compensation. But hopefully, you won’t have to encounter such people. But in the off chance that you do, you can confidently stand your ground," said the Imperial Crown Prince, whose goal was to protect their relationship.
Luca’s ears turned pink, the anxiety he hadn’t even known was forming suddenly melting away.
Then—
Princess Kira burst into laughter.
"Yes! Exactly! You’ve got to stake your claim fast! But if the problem is your husband—"
She grinned and mimed a chopping motion. "Then you get the sharpest knife. So when you chop their juniors, it comes off clean."
Luca instinctively crossed his legs.
And from the side, Jax cleared his throat and took a half-step away.
Kyle sighed, his head tilting slightly as the conversation about cleanly chopping off ’juniors’ continued a bit too casually for his liking.
In reality, he wanted to finish everything quickly and return to peace, preferably curled up in bed with Ollie and no threats of bodily harm hovering in the air.
So he cleared his throat. "Well, if any of you have plans to cut random things off, may I suggest redirecting that energy to something more important? Like dealing with contamination?"
That got everyone’s attention.
Luca, who had just been mentally calculating the legal conversion rate of emotional damage to assets, blinked and looked up. "Wait. What’s wrong?"
Kyle turned slightly and glanced at Xavier, who nodded.
"It’s the frontlines," Kyle said. "There’s been another contamination surge. This time, an anomaly, so it’s worse than the last."
Luca sat up straighter immediately. "Should we go? I can gather the others—"
Xavier cut him off gently but firmly. "It’s not time yet. What you’re preparing now, all those systems and structures you’re building—those will be more valuable than you showing up to one site. You can’t be everywhere. Not yet. So we’ll have to help in a different way."
Luca deflated a little but nodded slowly. He understood, even if he didn’t like it.
For the moment he shows up to fix one site, he might not be allowed to stop, not when people would become aware he’s capable of vacuuming out corruption.
"Then, would you know how else we could help? Are they in need of particular things?" Asked the worried Luca, who had been making a mental inventory of what he could possibly give.
"Spiritual Relics, or well, food." Kyle had seen it. Back when the soldiers got hold of the candied peels, the results had been too good to ignore.
And since then, they’ve made a delivery at least every two weeks courtesy of Steward Han, who had been in charge of Luca’s Star Mall Shop, and Butler Gary, who was in charge of the Day Care facility’s daily operations.
Usually, it was enough. It’s just that with the current surge, Marshal Julian had been forced to ask if they would have any other ways.
The Marshal didn’t pry, but just that was enough to know that it was that desperate.
"Food?" Luca’s back straightened, then with his palms clapping, he said, "Then if it’s just food, we definitely have that!" He smiled, bright enough that those who had been facing videos and images of corruption-infested lands felt that maybe it wouldn’t be so hopeless after all.
