The Royal Mark-Chapter 90: Mark Me Now
"I want you to mark me now..." Elsa said in a serious tone.
Chris stood up and walked away a bit from her. Her request was too tempting so he had to back off. "Absolutely not!" Chris exclaimed.
"Why not? I thought you wanted me–your mate..." Elsa crossed her arms feeling annoyed at Chris’ reaction.
"You are not an ordinary person, Elsa. Don’t forget that you are a princess not only to your kingdom but to my eyes and heart. We will follow the customs and traditions of your race in having a wedding. You will wear a wedding gown and walk down the aisle while everybody envies how beautiful you are on that day. Then once the human ceremony is done, I will mark you while everyone watches and envies you again for being the mate of the future king of Arcanis."
Elsa looked down at her hand and used her fingers to count something. She then stood up and exclaimed, "Fine! I will wait for 7 days then. But you cannot touch me or kiss me, even hold my hand until then. Perhaps I should ask the king to extend the wedding to one month..." Elsa held her chin while quickly thinking of something before she continued.
"The king said I can ask for anything for my wedding day. I will ask for something that will take time to do so the wedding will prolonged!" She then walked out of his room and saw her dogs waiting for her in the hallway.
[Are you out of your mind? Why did you ask him to mark you? He could have really done that. You have no idea how much that werewolf wanted to mark you from the moment he saw you.] Ciel scolded as soon as they entered her room.
"I just want that mate bond to happen Ciel. I want to know his thoughts. I wanted to tell him that there’s another way to go back to Novus without going through the trouble of asking for Qiryn’s portal. Even though this time he is sure that he will not get hurt, whatever he will give to them in exchange must be very important for both kingdoms for Qiryn to agree." Elsa slumped on the bed and joined by her dogs, before adding. "I was only testing the king yesterday if he knows it too, but then I don’t think even he knows its existence."
[You don’t have to ask the prince to mark you just to know his thoughts about it. Just ask me, you are his mate, and he is loyal to you. Are you afraid that he might betray you?] Ciel asked.
"Perhaps... I have been lied to before by my parents... Even though I know that it’s for my own good, I’m just tired of all the secrets that are surrounding my life," Elsa confessed.
[So, what’s your plan now?] Ciel questioned but someone knocked before Elsa could answer.
Valeria together with the modiste entered the room as soon as Elsa opened it. She knows that there will be some dresses that she has to fit today but she didn’t expect them to be a lot.
The modiste has six female assistants and four male assistants who were carrying large trunks, which she’s guessing are full of dresses and gowns. She stood on the side, watching the fast hands of the assistants in arranging the dresses into the racks.
"Grandma, why are there so many? I only need one for the memorial... A black dress, but I can see different colors here," Elsa asked already feeling dizzy as she looked at the different fabrics being laid in front of her.
"What are you talking about? You need dresses every day. Come let’s start fitting these to you," Valeria replied.
"I can use mom’s clothes. They are pretty and I feel like she’s still with me whenever I use her things," Elsa said not knowing that her words shot arrows into Valeria’s heart.
Valeria paused and looked at Elsa, then gazed at the dress she was wearing. With teary eyes, she placed her hands on Elsa’s arms, rubbing them, while looking at the embroidered flowers on her on the top fabric of her dress.
"I have been keeping myself busy since the day you arrived because I don’t want to remember that my only daughter, Hera is already gone. But I also wanted to do a lot of things for you, to make up for the years that we were not together. Thinking that this way, I can make my daughter happy even though she’s gone..."
Tears slowly fell down from Valeria’s cheeks, which she immediately wiped. "Can you please accept this for me huh? Just think of it as helping me cope with the passing of your mom. Also, this way we will be able to spend time together and we will get to know each other." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Elsa pressed her lips tightly together to stop herself from crying and nodded, "Alright grandma, let’s check out these dresses."
Valeria’s face instantly brightened and gave out a wide smile before picking out the first dress that she wanted Elsa to try on. She also asked the modiste to bring some jewelry that would match the dresses she was offering and made Elsa try them on as well.
Valeria got carried away and once they were done, it was already time for dinner and Elsa was really tired and hungry.
"Thank you for your business Mistress," the modiste said, "Where should my assistants put these thirty-four dresses together with their accessories?"
"Thirty-four?! That’s more than enough for a daily outfit for a month! Grandma, I don’t need that much. I think half of it would be enough, plus like I said, I also like wearing my mom’s clothes." Elsa proffered.
Valeria noticed the modiste’s face suddenly become painted with worry with what Elsa said. Instead of having sold a lot, the princess wanted to cut it in half.
"You can leave it here. Thank you for today," Valeria said before Constance led the modiste and her assistants out of the room.
"Grandma!" Elsa protested.
"What are you saying dear... Come sit with me," Valeria said after sitting on the sofa. "I don’t know what kind of life you’ve lived in the other world but here, you are the second princess Zemaria and the future Queen of Arcanis. It is only right that you receive the best of the best, do you understand?"
Elsa nodded, not wanting to argue with her grandmother anymore. She can see that Valeria is only taking care of her and perhaps wants to fill the void in her heart that her mom, Hera left.
