The Royal Mark-Chapter 89: A Year Ago - Chris’ Story (8)
"I heard that elemental mages can make an untrained pigeon send a letter to a specific person and they can also enchant a boat to make it sail faster, is that true?"
"Yes, you are correct. An air mage and a water mage can definitely do that. May I know who are you planning to contact and where are you going?" King Allister inquisitively asked not only because of his curiosity but also for the safety of his kingdom.
"I am going to ask my friend to transport me to the other world and for me to do that, I need to go to Qiryn... If you’ll excuse me, I have a letter to write," Chris confidently said before turning to Drake. "Prince Drake, I believe you will guide me to my chamber correct?"
Everyone including Prince Drake dropped their jaw at what they heard but quickly recovered from his astonishment and stood up to accompany the werewolf prince to his bed chamber.
Qiryn is off-limits to everyone, especially to the cursed beings such as werewolves. It is home to magical beings who want to be left in peace, isolating themselves from everyone in Vectus Mundus.
Being a werewolf makes Chris’ senses keener than humans and he can sense Prince Drake’s anxiousness as they walk through the hallway.
"Just say it Prince Drake, or you won’t be able to sleep thinking about it," Chris urged.
"It’s just that I am not sure if it is a good idea to bring my sister back here. Witches and demons are after her, so it might be safer for her to stay in the other world. And not that I am trying to intervene, but my sister is in love with someone else that’s why she doesn’t want to marry you, she doesn’t love you," Drake bravely stated.
"Don’t worry, I don’t love her too. We are only entering this agreement because of our common enemy. Once we defeat them, I will let her go so she can be with her lover," Chris uttered before noticing Drake halted from walking. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Chris turned around and stared at Drake with a questioning look. He saw the second prince’s eyes welling up with tears.
"Would you really do that? She’s the most important person to me and I love her like a full sister, she is also my best friend, my only friend for that matter," Drake said, mumbling the last part.
Chris smirked at the emotional prince appreciating his affection and protectiveness, for he might do the same or more for his sister.
"Yes, I would really do that. I promise to not touch her if she doesn’t want to. We can also sleep in a separate room if she demands, I don’t mind. All I care about is the alliance between our kingdoms and defeating the enemies responsible for my father’s death.
So you can be at ease and help me by telling me more about her so I would know how to persuade her to come with me in case she doesn’t want to," Chris’ words made Drake smile wide and nod with enthusiasm before they continue to make their way to the guest chamber.
On the other hand, King Allister made himself busy preparing what the werewolf prince asked for and adding essential things that he thought he would need in his journey. Even though he misses Hera so much, he believes sacrificing a life just to get her back is not worth it when there are many threats waiting for her in the whole realm.
Just like what the archmage believed, Hera is safer in the other world rather than staying in Zemaria as a princess with divine power.
But despite that, if the werewolf prince would be by her side then he wouldn’t need to worry anymore, for Prince Christopher is a true alpha making him a strong and powerful werewolf with special abilities the other alphas don’t have.
With the help of Zemaria’s water mages, it only took Christopher two days to travel to Qiryn Kingdom instead of a week. As promised, King Allister’s air mages enchanted the messenger pigeon to enter Qiryn undetected and deliver Chris’ letter ahead of time to Elandir Verdant–an elven druid, before Chris’ arrival.
As expected, sending the message in advance was effective for Elandir was already waiting at their meeting point on the shore in an isolated place in Qiryn that only the two of them knew.

Back to the present...
Elsa was overwhelmed by Chris’ story, it did not give her much information about her mother but it did say a lot of things about Chris and her family. After Hera erased her memory, she thought that she was alone and could only rely on herself but now she knows which family member she would approach and befriend first based on their interaction with Chris.
She was in deep thought that she did not notice that Chris already stopped telling her the story and was just staring at her until his lips landed on hers. It was supposed to be just a peck but of course, Chris would always want more of her.
He held her head in place and gave her a few more kisses before resting his forehead on hers. "I am not happy that Hera experienced what she had experienced but I believe that whatever happened in the past was meant to be so you and I would meet. We are destined for each other Elsa..." he kissed her one more time before hugging her tight.
While Chris was being emotionally romantic, Elsa suddenly remembered his story about the witch queen wanting something from Zemaria and something that her mom told her. However, even though she trusts Chris, the information that she holds is too valuable to let anyone know.
Elsa suddenly pulled away and asked, "Chris, I heard from some people at the wedding last night that when the werewolf mark their mates, they will be able to read each other’s thoughts, is that true?" Elsa inquired.
Chris nodded but was surprised at her out-of-topic question, "That’s true. It’s called mate bond. It will start with the marking and will be completed after we mate. The husband and wife will be able to feel each other’s strongest emotions and read each other’s thoughts."
"So there’s no more privacy between them?" Elsa asked.
"There still is, both can put up a wall to block the other from reading them. And don’t worry I will teach you how to do that right after the wedding. It would be easier to explain it once I already marked you."
"So that’s how it works... Hmm..."
Chris watched Elsa get lost in her thoughts again before turning back to him.
"The marking doesn’t need to happen in the wedding itself right?" she asked with enthusiasm.
"Uh huh..." Chris nodded and squinted, his mate was definitely brewing something in her mind, he thought.
"Okay... Mark me now, Chris. I want you to mark me now..."
