Chapter 53: In the Hallway

All her life, every move that she made was calculated based on her goals in life because she wanted order and clarity to be able to live without fear. But with Chris, she felt at ease and safe even if all he brought to her since the day they met was one surprise after the other and total chaos in her life. Still, she didn’t mind, it was as if he was her anchor in the middle of a storm.

’I already lost everything, so why not go crazy with his insane ideas? For a change, maybe I should try to be more carefree this time. I have nothing to lose anymore anyway,’ Elsa uttered inwardly and made her hands crawl up to his head. Her fingers brushed through his hair, weaving them together.

[She’s into you, my prince...] Yakobo grinned.

’I know... So, don’t bother us.’ Chris said to his cheering wolf. He can feel Elsa’s heart beating so fast, and it’s beating for him alone.

Elsa started kissing him aggressively and he liked that. So, he held her head in place and savored her oh-so-sweet taste. He gently slid in his tongue playing hide-and-seek with hers and she did the same.

He wanted more of her... All of her... He swiftly lifted her up, guiding her legs around his waist before he pushed her gently against the wall. He felt so hungry for his mate and wanted to devour her right then and there.

He just couldn’t get enough of his mate and desperately looked for her tongue that’s been teasing him with gentle pokes here and there. When he finally caught it he sucked it as if he can take it away making her moan.

"Mmm..."

’Godsss, I love her sound,’ Chris said as he felt himself get hard. He couldn’t take it anymore and his hand landed on her breast, kneading and squeezing it.

Elsa pulled away from his lips and said, "Chris... we’re in the hallway..."

Chris continued kissing her while saying in between, "Should we go inside then?"

Elsa nodded and Chris quickly carried her to his room when all of a sudden... 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

*Grrr*

The two stared at each other before they burst out of laughter at Elsa’s grumbling stomach.

"Is this why you want to go to the kitchen?" Chris asked in between his laugh as he let go of Elsa.

"I was only looking for water earlier but I guess my stomach wants more than that," Elsa replied.

Chris took her hand and started walking, "It’s because you haven’t had dinner yet. Let’s go to the kitchen then."

Elsa moved along Chris not minding walking hand in hand until they reached the end of the hallway before the staircase. Her attention was caught by a painting of a seraph falling from the sky.

She freed her hand from Chris and stood in front of the painting, looking closely at it. Chris stood next to her and said, "That is Seraph Nathaniel. He was kicked out of Heaven because he fell in love with a human. He was punished with immortality and stripped of his powers. He was happy at first, but eventually, the woman died and he was left all alone."

"That’s a sad story, Chris. Where is he now?" Elsa asked still looking at the face of Seraph Nathaniel.

"Some legend says he still wanders in Zemaria, but no one has really seen him for a long time."

"He looks familiar though," Elsa said while slowly moving closer to the painting unconsciously.

Chris frowned at how Elsa was looking intensely at the painting. He gently tugged her hand, "I will get jealous if you will still continue to stare at that man. I might burn that painting down."

Elsa quickly turned her gaze to Chris, frowning, "What? You will burn a precious painting just because you’re jealous? You’re crazy."

"Yes, I am crazy about you. So don’t stare like that to other men, or they might lose their lives," Chris said seriously making Elsa drop her jaw in disbelief.

’He’s so unreasonable like a child throwing a tantrum,’ she thought.

They then head to the kitchen or so Elsa thought, "I think we had passed this place before. Are we lost?"

Chris pursed his lips and looked left and right before saying, "I think we are..." and rubbed his nape.

"I thought you said you know where the kitchen is?"

"Well, sort of... I know where the dining hall is since I have been there. I haven’t been to the kitchen before. But hey, it should be near the dining hall right?" Chris assumed.

Elsa let out a sigh, thinking that Chris might be right but they have been roaming around for quite some time now but still haven’t found the kitchen. "Why is no one in here? A castle should have servants right?"

"It’s already late and they must have been sleeping already, princess."

"But I’m hungry..." Elsa pouted before suggesting, "Let’s go back to the dining hall and restart. Try to remember where the servants enter when they bring the food in and we will start from there."

And that’s exactly what they did. They walked through the small dark hallway that didn’t look like it would lead them to the kitchen but it was the only path that they hadn’t tried earlier so they both kept walking.

"I can smell hot milk..." Chris uttered causing Elsa to smile.

Elsa grinned and could already imagine the different food that she would be eating and exclaimed, "Kitchen! Let’s go!"

They saw light at the end of the hallway but Chris used his hand to block Elsa from further going in, "Wait, I can hear voices. Angry voices..." Chris quickly pulled Elsa to a smaller room that looked like a utility room to hide when he heard his name from the familiar voices.

"Brother, please, help me convince father and mother to let me marry Prince Christopher. This is my chance now that Hera is out of the picture."

Elsa looked at Chris who gestured to her to be quiet as they listened further.
