The Royal Mark-Chapter 52: Choose Me
Elsa patiently stood in the hallway, her mind immersed in the paintings decorating the walls. Each seemingly narrates a tale from the past. Her immersion was so deep that she remained on the spot and did not notice Chris exiting the room.
With her head tilted, she examined a painting depicting what appeared to be a celestial battle between angels and demons. Suddenly, her trance was interrupted by a gentle kiss on her cheek, as Chris enveloped her from behind, his chin resting on her shoulder.
As she attempted to break free from his embrace, Chris tightened his hold, teasing, "There’s no use in struggling; you know I’m stronger." He affectionately planted another kiss on her cheek, inhaling the sweet scent of her freshly awakened self earlier. "Why do you always smell so good even if you just woke up? I will never get tired of sniffing you like this..."
Playfully, Chris nuzzled her head, neck, and the back of her neck, causing Elsa to burst into laughter. "Stop that! It tickles!" she exclaimed.
He chuckled, still holding her, while their attention shifted to the painting. Elsa discreetly scanned the hallway to ensure they remained unnoticed before she too fixated her gaze on the artwork, allowing Chris to have his way.
"In my world, angels were said to have white wings. I guess it’s different here," Elsa uttered while looking at the painting of angels with red wings stepping over the demons.
"Same here. But those are not regular angels. They are seraphim who are said to have the highest rank among angels and stand beside God’s throne." Chris narrated.
"Wow, you sure know a lot about human beliefs," Elsa uttered, truly impressed since she was not expecting Chris to take fancy about something not related to werewolves.
"It’s not a belief, Princess. Angels and demons are real. It’s part of our history. Demons even have an empire here in Vectus, and they are a threat to everyone, especially Zemeria and its divine mages, like you. You see, the divine power that you possess came from the seraphim a long time ago. It was a gift given to the loyal and brave leaders of the families who fought side by side with the angels against the demons." Chris let go of Elsa’s waist only to hold her hand and lead her to another painting.
Elsa looked at the painting and saw humans that seemed to be glowing because of the yellow and white color around their bodies. Together with the humans are the seraphim who looked like they were bestowing the divine power to the humans in front of them.
Chris then continued with his story. "It can only be passed on to their offspring, and cannot be taught, learned, or acquired, unlike the elemental magic of the other mages. Children of the divine mages get to know if they inherit the power or not during their thirteenth birthday. The majority of them inherit it but if not they still can learn elemental magic."
"That’s what happened to me... Mom told me to never use my power, but I did... and now she’s dead because of me..." Elsa lowered her head and tried to prevent herself from shedding tears, especially after seeing her mom smiling in her dream. But her sadness is something that she cannot hide especially from Chris.
Chris felt her emotions, which he had been experiencing often lately since they arrived in Vectus. At first, he thought that it was because he could smell her when something changed physically like when she got aroused, or if she was sweating because of nervousness, excitement, or fear. He can also hear her heartbeat so he didn’t really give much meaning to it.
But there are some emotions and feelings that do not cause the body to produce some scent or change the rhythm of one’s heartbeat. However, Chris is feeling a lot of Elsa’s emotions lately that even a true alpha like him starts to question and wonder.
He brushed that thought aside since he could feel how sad Elsa was, and he wanted to wipe that sadness away. He pulled her gently and brought her to his embrace and said in a soft voice, "Nothing is your fault. Your mom did what she had to do because she loves you very much. If the situation were reversed, I am sure that you would do the same for her. So, to not waste her sacrifices, you have to be happy. I’m sure that’s what she wants..."
Elsa was touched by Chris’ words. It was as if he could read her mind for he just said the things that she wanted to hear. She lifted up her head to look at Chris and smiled, "Thank you for saying that, Chris. It helps ease my sadness."
"No need to thank me, princess. I want you to be happy... Allow me to make you happy... I cannot promise to remove everything that makes you sad, but what I can promise is to do everything that I can to make you happy every time that you are by my side. Elsa, I am dying for you to be mine. Please choose me and be mine..."
Elsa was totally caught off guard. She was just enjoying looking at the paintings earlier and now she’s in this situation with Chris. "Chris... I-I..."
Chris put his index finger on her lips to stop her from speaking for he could feel her nervousness. And the last thing that he wants is for her to decide while not in the right mind. "Shh... You don’t need to answer that now... I just want to tell you what’s on my mind... I also want you to feel what I feel..." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"Huh?" Elsa was totally lost on the last part, she didn’t comprehend what he was trying to say until Chris sealed her lips with his.
He kissed her gently, slowly licking and sucking her lower lip making her clasp on his shirt.
This gentleness made her knees weak. She can feel herself, especially her heart slowly opening to Chris. It could be because of her situation... She’s alone in a new world and Chris is the only person that she knows. Or it could be his persistence in wooing her... she doesn’t really know.
All she knows is that her mind, body, and heart don’t object to Chris’ kisses and touch, she even likes it as a matter of fact. She’s in a new world and no one knows her there except for Chris, so why not just go with the flow, she thought.
