Chapter 366: My Only Wish

"You accept?" Chris asked with emotions he couldn’t describe. He doesn’t know if he is happy about it or sad.

"Yes... Wait a minute. You’ve mentioned earlier that the goddess requires three sacrifices, what are the other two?" Elsa suddenly remembered.

Chris quickly stood up to get a glass of water that was on the table near them. He was sure he turned pale after almost forgetting the other two demands. Now that Elsa had agreed to go back to Novus, he must not say anything that could possibly change her mind.

"Oh that, it’s something that’s not hard if you are going back to Novus since you have done that before," Chris said before drinking a glass of water while his back turned to Elsa.

"What is it then? Tell me," Elsa urged.

"You are not allowed to use your power there to keep your identity hidden. Also, your wings will automatically become dormant the moment you cross the portal," he lied once again.

Nathan frowned for a quick moment, after hearing Chris’ explanation but briskly fixed his expression. ’That’s not it. There’s something that he is not telling,’ Nathan thought.

"Ahh... That’s doable then. I don’t need my wings there and I have no plans of using my powers there. It will only cause me trouble so the goddess is right, I should not use it in Novus."

Chris turned around after feeling much better and sure that he was no longer pale. He gave Elsa a warm smile and said, "If that’s settled then I think you could rest for today and tomorrow we should start informing the others so you can bid them farewell."

"Alright... Rocco’s birthday is coming up, can we invite Grandpa and Grandma here so we can celebrate before we leave?" Elsa asked.

"Of course, dear. Let me take care of that. For now, enjoy your stay here. Rocco is in your room with Marina, go to them while I kick these men out of my house, so we can all rest," Hera jested. Like Nathan, she could also feel that there’s something that Chris was not mentioning and it’s surely because of her daughter. So she used Rocco as an excuse to send Elsa away.

"Okay, okay I’ll go... Chris, will you join me?" Elsa uttered.

"No, you go ahead. I will follow you later. I still need to talk to King Tyrion and the rest about Kurzen, I will come back once we are done. Kiss our son for me."

Elsa nodded with a smile before heading upstairs. Chris signaled for everyone to move along, as he wanted to speak with them privately.

Once Elsa had climbed the stairs, Hera gestured for everyone to follow her. She led them to a door that opened into her laboratory, which also served as an infirmary for her students to practice their healing skills.

Chris was the last to enter the room, and he locked the door behind him to ensure privacy. "I’m sorry, I lied," he confessed.

"We know, but you must have a good reason for it," Nathan replied.

"In exchange for the twins’ lives, the goddess wants to take Elsa’s power and memory. She won’t remember meeting me or anything related to me. Her memory will end on the day we met, and she will forget everything that happened afterward," Chris revealed.

Everyone’s earlier high spirits plummeted to the ground. Hera slumped on the chair behind her while Andrius pinched the area between his brows. Elsa would forget all of them.

She would not remember meeting her mother once again in Qiryn and would only remember her death. She would not remember meeting her family in Zemaria and every friend that she made in Vectus. She won’t remember all the happy memories that she had there.

"How would she take care of Rocco if she can’t remember her own son? And how about the unborn children inside her? It will freak her out not knowing how she got pregnant and who the father was," Nathan expressed his concerns.

"The goddess also said that she has no control over you since you are a seraphim. So it’s up to you if you will join her once more in Novus. So I think it also means that you are the only one allowed to go there and the rest of us must stay here and not bother her anymore," Chris said.

"Even you?" Andrius asked Chris.

"Yes, even me. And I will accept that offer," he answered.

"Woah, hold on. Don’t be so rash in your decision. She’s your mate and I know how painful it would be for you to lose her. Let us think this through first, let us help you," Stefan countered.

"You don’t understand Stefan. I am dying... It is not true that there’s a cure for me. I am dying anyway so it doesn’t matter if we get separated. At least I will be able to save their lives and save her from heartache since she will not remember any of this.

She could continue her life in Novus with Nathan as her adoptive father, Ambros. Nathan could then create a story of how she got pregnant and Rocco. She will be happy there as a doctor with our children. That’s my only wish before I die, I want my family to be alive, safe, and happy." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

"Oh God..." Hera uttered and started sobbing after hearing what Chris had said. Although she wanted the same, it would be great if she could see them once in a while. But from the looks of it, it will be their last goodbye.

"We should not let her know about it. She would surely back out and will stubbornly look for other ways to save her unborn children," Nathan asserted.

"That’s what I thought too," Chris said.

Andrius patted Chris’ shoulder, showing sympathy. "We should inform everyone to go here before Elsa goes back to Novus, for it will be the last time that we will see her..."
