The Royal Mark-Chapter 365: I Accept
"No! There must be another way for me to get better! I do not want to go back to Novus. My family and life are here, why would I go there?!" Elsa became furious after hearing Chris say that she needed to go back to Novus to live.
Chris told them first the third sacrifice, reversing the sequence of the goddess’ demands while pondering if he would tell her the other two. He no longer cares what would he feel or what will happen to his life after his family is gone. As long as they are safe, then he will be happy.
"You were able to wake up the divine mages right? Maybe they know something that we haven’t tried. I am sure they will be willing to help us!" Elsa continued with her rants.
"They already lost their holy magic. They transfer it back to me to be able to defeat the demon king. All they have now is their elemental magic," Nathan interjected.
"Perhaps Christopher could go through the portal so he could be with Elsa after some time," Andrius suggested.
"I can’t..." Chris said with a somber voice. "Part of the deal if I would take it is that I must stay here and fulfill my destiny as King of Arcanis and lead my people," he added.
"Even if Christopher can cross the portal to the other world, the time there and here are different. He might arrive there to find Elsa already old, or perhaps a hundred years will have passed. So, it’s not an option," Elandir reminded them.
"But that’s not all..." Chris spoke again, capturing everyone’s attention. "Three sacrifices are needed."
Elsa, too excited upon hearing ’three,’ interrupted Chris. "The goddess will heal you too?" she asked eagerly.
"No. The goddess is willing to save our children inside you. We are having twins, my love," Chris said softly.
An audible gasp echoed through the room. Everyone was instantly filled with joy, except for Elsa and Chris, who remained locked in each other’s gaze.
"Oh my goodness, Rocco will have two playmates!" Hera exclaimed. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
But the bliss soon faded as they noticed the sorrowful expressions of the couple.
"I can’t leave you here without knowing if the goddess could heal you from the hecatolite or not," Elsa said.
"I will be ok. The goddess said that I just need to soak in the Moonwell like what I did earlier every now and then to calm Yakobo down." Chris’ heart ached as he said that. He had to lie to convince Elsa to access the goddess’ offer.
Hera pursed her lips knowing that what Chris said was a bandaid solution and it’s not a cure. But she understood why he had to do that. She glanced at Nathan, who nodded at her as if they could read each other’s minds.
"Maybe Elandir could help bring Chris to Novus. I remember you could go there with a minimal time difference, right? Or perhaps we could discover how the evil witch queen manipulated time to travel back and forth without consequences," Hera suggested.
Elandir quickly picked up what Chris and Hera were trying to do so he said, "You are right, I could just accompany Christopher when he cross the portal so that the time difference wouldn’t be that far..."
"Elsa, I think you should take it. Go to Novus and wait for Christopher to settle everything here. He is the King of Arcanis and the goddess is right, he can’t just suddenly leave his people. It will create chaos just like what happened the first time he left.
But I am sure that he could make a few changes so he could make sure that his people are alright before following you there. There is so much that needs to be done now that Kurzen is gone. I promise you that I will help him with everything so he can leave Vectus as soon as possible to be with you.
Once we figure out how the evil witch queen was able to go back and forth between the two worlds then Christopher can also do that, so can be with you while still ruling Arcanis. Then someday, your son Rocco would take over, and then Christopher could finally stay there with you. Right, Chris?" Stefan proposed and squeezed Chris’ shoulder hard, pretending to just patting him. It was a signal to his friend to just say yes so they could finally convince Elsa.
"R-Right..." Chris replied after getting Stefan’s message. "But you don’t have to decide now. I was given a week to think about it. Let’s cool our minds down and sleep on it before we go back to the Tree of Life."
"Why should we wait? Do we have other choice?" Elsa asked.
"We could look for Milda so she could reverse her dark spell, but that’s not possible within a week. She went to the underworld and it’s too dangerous for us to go there. I don’t have my angelic powers anymore, so it’s impossible for me to go there and successfully drag her back here," Nathan answered.
"From what I understand, here’s what all of you are saying. I should go to Novus so that the dark spell of Milda will not have any effect on me. But if you find her, she could reverse it and I can finally go back to Vectus.
Meanwhile, while I stay in Novus, Chris could go back and forth with minimal time difference with Elandir’s help while you are trying to figure out the technique that the evil witch queen used.
And even if you don’t find Milda, we could still be together in the end and grow old in Novus because Rocco would take over his father’s throne someday. Did I understand it correctly?" Elsa asked everyone.
"Yes, you are right," Nathan confirmed.
"Hmm..." Elsa sighed and pouted for a few moments, thinking of her decision before finally declaring it. "Alright... I accept. I will go to Novus and wait patiently for all of you to fix everything here. I trust all of you..." Elsa announced with a smile on her face.
