The Royal Mark-Chapter 312: Stronger Than Werewolves
Elsa’s hands shook and asked the servant, "Who gave this to you? Take me to that person!"
Her voice was loud and sounded angry, scaring the poor servant. "I-I’m sorry, My Queen. I do not know who is it from. It arrived with a carrier pigeon at the culverhouse. I-If you want I could t-try to ask the birdkeeper for more information."
"Nevermind. I want you to keep this a secret for now. The King is very furious as of the moment and I don’t want you to get scolded. I will be the one to tell him, do you understand?" Elsa tries to convince the servant for she doesn’t want anyone to know about it.
The letter was addressed to her and it just means that the demon king has something up his sleeves and she will find that out on her own.
"Y-Yes, My Q-Queen. T-Thank you for looking after me. My lips are sealed, I swear on my mother’s grave," the servant then acted zipping out his lips.
"Keep your word. You can go." Elsa watched the servant leave and as soon as he was no longer in sight, Elsa entered the nearest room she could find and read the content of the letter.
"My Dear Elsa,
My first letter is an absolute lie. I have no intention of marrying Princess Milda for my heart only belongs to you. The moment I laid eyes on your beautiful face, your amber eyes, red lips and hair, and rosy cheeks. My heart beats erratically and wildly. It was telling me to get to know more about you.
And when I saw your majestic wings, I knew you were the one. We are both angels born outside the heavens above and we are meant to be together forever.
Your son is safe here, I do not want you to worry, my love. He is being treated like how he should be treated. A Kurzen Prince, just like my son. Your aunt and father are being treated the same way.
I will not hurt them if you will cooperate with me. I want to see you and let’s talk things out. I will send my servant to you tomorrow night, let’s meet up. I will bring Prince Rocco and Princess Milda with me. You should come alone, no servants or lady-in-waiting. Just you...
Right now, Princess Milda is the only person that Prince Rocco wants to be with so she’s taking good care of him. That’s a given since he doesn’t know anyone here.
Use the same pigeon that I sent. I will be waiting for your reply.
Lovingly yours,
~King Mordrak Baelzor"
"What the fuck?!" Elsa exclaimed with one hand on her waist. She was both disgusted and infuriated by what she had read.
She wanted to puke and explode in too much anger at the same time. She read the letter once again, hoping that she was just hallucinating, but she was not.
’When did I even meet him?’ she asked herself.
She could already imagine a tall bulky man with red eyes, red skin, big black horns on his forehead, a long black tail with a triangle-shaped end, and big black bat wings. Just picturing how the demon looked gave her goosebumps.
But then she remembered Rocco, Milda, and her father. The demon king said she would see her son and if that’s the only way she could see him again, then she would take it even if it was a trap.
She put the scroll on her palm and burned it, making sure no one else would read it. She returned to their room and summoned Rylie, Lexi, and Arla.
She must find a way to get her son back without shedding blood or sacrificing the whole kingdom and the only way to find a solution is to meet up with the demon king and hear what he has to say.
After a while, she heard a knock. Rylie was the first one to come in and asked, "You called for us, Your Majesty?"
"I told you to just call me Elsa when it’s just us. I need to talk to the three of you, have a seat."
The three women could only guess what Elsa had in mind. Earlier she was furious but now she’s so calm. She was really an unpredictable woman and they could only hope that she was not planning anything dangerous just like how crazy she was when Chris was abducted by the witch queen.
"Tell me what do you know about the demon king," she told them.
Arla was the first one to talk. "I think, even Lexi would agree with me on this that no kingdom is close enough to Kurzen to know much about their King. Even Saldivar wouldn’t know that much. I think it was only Queen Yvonne who got close to King Mordrak in the longest history of Vectus."
Lexi nodded and said, "I agree. There are not many records about him and the demons are not talking much about him. They are all scared of their king so their lips are sealed."
"And why is that?" Elsa asked.
"The demon king is deceptive and avoided by everyone, if not feared. Just look at how he abandoned his only ally, Queen Yvonne. But if there’s one thing that is sure. He is surely strong enough to wipe out Arcanis if he wants to. That’s why King Christopher is doing his best to gather as many allies as he can," Rylie commented.
"In the history of Vectus, it was the devil himself who cursed the humans, turning them into werewolves and vampires. While the witches are the corrupted mages who wanted more power and made a deal with the devil. And with that, the demons are his flesh and blood. Because of that fact, it was thought to be that demons are naturally stronger than werewolves, vampires, and witches," Lexi added.
"You mentioned the devil himself, who was a fallen angel. The mages were gifted by the angels with elemental powers while the divine mages were blessed with holy power, does that mean that the mages are more powerful than them, especially a divine mage like me?
Come to think of it I am also half angel and not just an ordinary angel, I’m a daughter of a powerful seraphim. Do you think I could defeat King Mordrak myself?" Elsa asked.
The three women knew it, their friend and queen was planning something dangerous once again. They stared at her with dropped jaws, amused at how she was confidently smiling at them.
