The Royal Mark-Chapter 296: Wear It
"Let’s go, love," Chris whispered to Elsa before planting a soft kiss on her ear, tickling her.
"But I am not done yet," Elsa retorted.
"I already sent a message to Aeson to pick up everything we bought. Let’s have an early lunch with Neia and Stefan before we go," Chris explained.
"Did you even buy something?" Elsa pondered upon seeing that her husband had nothing in his hands.
"Yes, I did. It’s in my pocket. I’ll show you later, you will love it. We should go now if you want to see what I bought you," Chris extended his hand to Elsa which she held.
When they went out, Stefan and Neia were already there and she was surprised with the number of boxes there with them.
"You surely bought a lot," Elsa commented.
"Bono has rare and luxury goods, so I have no choice but to buy them all. I also bought Princess Neia high-quality silk and other fabrics so she can have dresses that blend well in Vrenada," Stefan said.
"One of Bono’s assistants said that there’s a famous inn here that serves delicious and exquisite dishes and she already went ahead to reserve us a private room. Shall we go?" Neia uttered and everyone nodded.
Chris walked fast, in contrast to his walk-in-the-park pace earlier making the three wonder if he was that hungry to be in a hurry.
When they arrived at the inn, they were amazed at how big it was, and from the looks of it, it surely was an expensive place to dine.
They saw Bono’s assistant outside waiting for them, she was about to bow but Chris quickly stopped her. "We are in disguise, remember?" he said to the assistant.
"I’m sorry, Your Majesty. I just cannot believe that I get to see four royalties in person all at the same time. But enough of me, your room is ready inside. The manager of the place is my master’s friend, I will introduce you."
The manager had a wide smile on her face as soon as they entered the inn. Four servers were also behind her with the same smile as hers.
"Welcome to Cressian’s Inn, Your Majesties!"
The manager and the servers bowed before them, making Chris roll his eyes. He wanted to strangle Bono’s assistant right that instant.
"I-I a-apologize, I-I need to tell her who you are to make sure you’ll get the best room and service. Please forgive me..." the assistant kept her head low as she pleaded.
Elsa pats her shoulder saying, "That’s ok, no one saw them anyway. Thank you for making sure that we will be well taken care of."
"Please take us to our room. My husband is in a hurry, he must be really hungry already," Elsa said to the inn manager.
"This way, please..."
The manager took them to the second and it was the farthest room in the inn. It was spacious and had the view of the ocean which made all of them smile the moment it was revealed to them.
"Wow, this is amazing. It looks so peaceful in here. I want a house like this by the sea or lake," Elsa mentioned.
Neia hooked her arm into Elsa’s and said, "Remind my brother to take you to one of our vacation homes by the sea. It’s more beautiful than this. I’m sure Rocco will enjoy it there."
Chris heard her and chimed in, "Don’t worry, that’s already part of my plan. I also plan to renovate our vacation home by the border of Vrenada so we could always meet halfway on special occasions."
"I would love that, brother. Let’s order our food since you are hungry right?" Neia told Chris.
Chris gulped and grasped the object in his pocket, He replied stuttering, "R-Right."
The inn did not disappoint them. They were served with the best seafood and meat in town. Every single dish was delectable and satisfied their taste buds.
"Oh! I almost forgot, Bono gave us a gift. It was a pastry from Salvidar and it’s perfect for dessert. Let me just get it from our carriage," Neia said.
"I’ll come with you. That should match one of the wines that I bought," Stefan announced.
Chris’ heartbeat started to run wild and Elsa felt it making her frown. He closely watched Neia and Stefan walk out of the room while slowly inserting his hand into his pocket.
When the two were completely out of the room, he quickly turned to Elsa and said, "Do you trust me?"
Elsa’s face creased, completely baffled and worried about what was about to happen or what her husband was about to say.
"Are you okay? I can feel that you are nervous," she uttered.
"I’m okay, but do you trust me?" he repeated once more.
"Of course, I trust you. What is going on?"
"I bought something for you and I want you to wear it now."
Elsa chuckled, "Alright, I will wear it, you don’t have to be nervous about your gift. Whatever it is I’m sure I’ll love it as long as it’s from you."
"I am not worried about that because I am sure as well that you will love it. It’s just that I want you to wear it until we arrive back in the castle," Chris said.
"Sure, give it to me," Elsa beamed excitedly.
She can already imagine one of the expensive pieces of jewelry on display earlier besides, what else would Chris give her if not one of those accessories with rare gems?
Chris took the item from his pocket and Elsa immediately gasped and covered her mouth with both hands.
Chris smirked and his hand landed on her lap. She immediately grabbed his hand and protested, "No fucking way I am going to wear that!"
"You know what is this?"
"Hell yes! And no, I am not wearing that," Elsa strongly claims.
"You said you trust me and you said you will wear it," Chris pouted and tried his best to look as sad as he could to change Elsa’s mind.
Elsa saw how his shoulder dropped and she just couldn’t resist those pleading puppy eyes. She took a deep sigh and said, "Okay fine! I will wear it. But this is the last time that I am going to wear it while in public."
Chris’ gloomy face instantly brightened and briskly hugged Elsa, "Thank you so much, you will not regret this."
