Chapter 252: Come and Save Me

Everyone turned serious at Stefan’s remark. Chris gestured for everyone to take a sit before turning to Hoven.

"Go and call our men and Elsa’s. I think they should be here as well."

Hoven bowed and quickly did as ordered. He already mentally called Blake and Tallor and he already knows where Baahu, Kaizer, and Dasher are.

"Elsa and I will have brunch at the dining hall since we haven’t got the chance to eat early and we will be busy the whole day, you can join us," Chris invited Stephan, Andrius, and Drake while waiting for the others.

"I’ll pass, I will sleep. Morning is not my thing. I will join you again later in Alaric’s burial," King Stefan said.

"We will pass too. Me and Drake will take care of the mages who will return back to Zemaria this afternoon. They have to go back to make sure our kingdom is defended once our father attends your coronation," Prince Andrius said.

"Right... The tedious coronation..." Chris sighed, remembering that before that they had to talk to the elders and re-assign the duties to everyone who would serve under the new king.

So much paperwork will be sorted out as well after the coronation and it’s something that he is not fond of doing.

After a few minutes, the male mages of Elsa and three of the Elite Alphas of Chris arrived.

Chris started their meeting and informed everyone, "I called you here because of Princess Neia and King Stefan’s proposal. He wanted to lead the hunt for the witch queen. I am going to accept that not only because I trust Stefan to find my sister, but also because I cannot go. My wolf is still affected by the hecatolite and I still need to find a way to be cured completely."

"Are you going to order us to go with him?" Blake asked with a voice full of excitement. For werewolves like them, hunting is fun and it’s their specialty and he cannot wait to rip off some witches who will stop them from taking Princess Neia back home.

"I will not order anyone, but I will ask for your help. However, Hoven, you must stay because of your duties as Lord High Steward, also for Kaizer and Baahu, I would understand if you want to stay since your wives will be staying here with the Queen," Chris replied.

Silence filled the room once again as everybody thinks carefully their decisions. Kaizer and Baahu looked at each other silently signaling to each other who would talk first.

But Drake beat them to it, "I will go." His words shocked everyone for it was completely unexpected.

"Are you sure? You would be separated from Arla. We don’t know how long would it take to retrieve Neia back," Chris said.

"It is not only for Neia, that I want to go. Our mother fled to Saldivar according to reports, and I want to retrieve her as well. Knowing our mother, it will not benefit Zemaria if we will allow her to stay with the witch queen. She knows a lot about our kingdom and she might use it to get back to our father. I’ll take care of Arla, I will talk to her," Drake explained.

"I understand. Who else will join?" Chris asked.

"Count us in. Blake and I will not let the King of Vrenada and Prince of Zemaria take all the fun, we want to rip off some witches’ hearts," Tallor exclaimed.

"I will join too," Baahu said surprising everyone again. "Werewolves are weak against the witches’ magic and my earth defense would be a great help. I am sure Lexi would understand. She was so worried last night about Princess Neia."

"I can’t let Baahu and PRicne Drake take all the credit. I will join too," Dasher said.

Kaizer sighed and said, "I wanted to join but I can’t. Rylie and I really wanted to have our first baby to really start our family and we can’t do that if I will be away. We have been married for a while now and she is already getting jealous of the Queen and has been nagging me every day saying she wanted a little Rocco in her life as well or else she might really kidnap the little prince."

Everyone laughed at Kaizer and Chris patted him on his shoulder saying, "No problem. Not joining the hunt doesn’t mean you’re less of a man. Being a father and head of the family is a much bigger responsibility, so we respect your decision."

"I am not sure of what I will do yet. I need to talk to my father first. As you said, we don’t know how long it would take and since Drake is joining, I don’t want to leave Zemaria without a commanding officer," Prince Andrius said.

"Of course, we wouldn’t want that, or else all our efforts to become allies and take Arcanis back from our enemies would be for nothing," Chris voiced out.

He then turned to Hoven and asked, "Can we make plans for this later after lunch?"

Hoven checked on the parchment that he was holding. He stayed quiet for a few seconds and replied, "We can do the planning before the burial of your uncle. Your after-lunch schedule is with the citizens of Arcanis. You are expected to give a speech with the Queen before your fittings with the tailors."

"Alright, it’s settled then. So if you’ll excuse me, gentlemen, I have to join my wife for our first breakfast in my homeland." Chris stood up and so did everyone to start their day.

’Where are you, my wife?’ Chris asked through their bond.

Chris waited for Elsa’s reply as he and Hoven walked towards the dining hall but there was no response so he assumed that she was already eating and went ahead.

However, upon arriving at the dining hall, Elsa was not there or her ladies-in-waiting.

’Love, where are you? I’m in the dining hall. Are you still in our room?’ he asked once again.

’Come and save me, I was ambushed, and now I can’t go to the dining hall!’ Elsa replied.
