The Royal Mark-Chapter 220: Getting Married
"Wow, I can’t believe that someone from my children will finally get married. All of them are getting old and yet everyone is unwed!" King Allister jested causing everyone to laugh.
"I will lead the others, Father. Hopefully, they will get inspired and get married too," Drake replied to the king with a joke as well.
"Great! So now, the next thing we need to plan is your wedding. How about a double wedding? We could get married at the same time so Hera can join too, what do you say?" King Allister was so excited that in just a short amount of time, he already thought of the theme of their wedding and who are the people that he would invite.
"I’m sorry, Father but it is too long. I cannot wait until that day," Drake bravely said.
The king frowned but was proud at the same time. It is not common for Drake to express his opinion or what he wants. He would usually just say yes and let other people decide for him.
"So when are you planning to have your wedding then?" It was Lady Constance who spoke this time, equally excited as King Allister and Mistress Valeria.
"Tonight, I want to marry Arla tonight," Drake answered with full conviction, not minding the astonished expression of the people with him in the room.
The three elders had their jaws dropped while Arla facepalmed herself. Truly, Drake is coming out of his shell but this is just too fast!
"Drake," Arla uttered, touching Drake on the shoulder. "Don’t be too impulsive, I will marry you even if I have to wait for years. So no need to hurry."
"Does it matter if we get married tonight or next year? It will still be the same so why not do what we can do today and do other things tomorrow? Life is short Arla, and we are going to war in less than two days. I want to savor our moment as husband and wife before we risk our lives in that damn war.
Who knows what will happen to both of us during the battle? What if we get injured, become disabled, or even die? Please, Arla, I want to do this while we are both still in our best condition," Drake pleaded.
Arla held onto Drake’s face and said, "Hey, don’t say that. Nothing bad will happen to us," assuring him.
"Dear, I think the Prince has a point," her mother said.
Which was seconded by Mistress Valeria, "I agree Lady Constance. Nothing is ever too soon or too young in love. It’s not about the time or duration. It’s about how you feel for each other and how you want to live in the moment."
Mistress Valeria and the king looked at each other and hugged each other lovingly, touching the hearts of the two young lovebirds.
Arla sighed and smiled at Drak. While holding both his hands she said, "So I guess, we are getting married tonight?"
"Yes!" Drake tightened his grip on his fist, triumphantly lifting his arm before wrapping Arla in an embrace and spinning her around, prompting laughter from the others.
"Oh my goodness! We are getting married! I am getting married!" Arla shouted in excitement.
"Constance we should immediately make preparations," Mistress Valeria said.
"I will inform Princess Elsa and Rylie. They will be my maid of honor," Arla announced and quickly left the room.
"I will tell brother, he will be my best man and I ask Baahu, Dasher, and Kaizer to help," Drake said and left the room as well.
"How about me? What will I do?" King Allister questioned, seeing everyone hurry.
"Oh dear, what else? You are the King, so you will facilitate and wed those two. So start writing your speech!" Mistress Valeria implored.
King Allister quickly walked towards his desk took out a piece of paper and pen, and started writing.
"Constance, I will go and tell the cook what will happen at the dinner tonight, I think you should go to your daughter and help her with her dress. I will take care of managing the servants on preparing the great hall," Valeria ordered.
"Thank you so much for your support, Mistress. Thank you for accepting my daughter into your family," Lady Constance mentioned with teary eyes.
"What are you saying? You and your children have been part of this family from the beginning, so never consider yourself an outsider. Now, I’ll leave; the cook has a lot of adjustments to make to the menu tonight." Valeria and Constance then went their separate ways in the hallway.
Arla first talked to Rylie since she didn’t find Elsa in her room, "Where is the princess?" she asked Rylie.
"She’s outside, training with Prince Elandir, do you need anything?" Rylie answered back.
"Rylie, I am getting married tonight, you and Princess Elsa are my maid of honor. Please accept my request... Please..." Arla begged like a child asking her mom to buy her a new toy.
"Oh my, is this real? Why all of a sudden? What will I wear?" Rylie worriedly asked, making Arla giggle.
"Don’t worry about your attire, a simple dress will do. I don’t mind, as long as you are there. But you do agree to be my maid of honor right?" Arla clarified.
"Of course! I will" Come on, let’s inform the princess. She will be happy it will also be a good distraction for her. She kept crying earlier whenever she remembered Rocco. Good thing Prince Elandir invited her to train to keep her busy."
They made their way towards the castle grounds where Elandir and Elsa were engaged in training. However, the magical training they anticipated was not happening as expected. Upon reaching the castle ground, they witnessed their beloved princess wielding a dagger, locked in fierce combat with Elandir and his sword. A wave of panic swept over them as they noticed Elsa’s torn sleeves and the presence of blood.
