The Royal Mark-Chapter 199: Reach Up to the Heavens
Two weeks later in Qiryn (Back to the present)...
"Oh, regarding that I already asked my assistant healer to send a messenger to Zemaria earlier. And also there was a news that came to Elandir a week ago. It is regarding Queen Irina and my sister, Princess Milda. Something happened when my brothers, Prince Andrius, and Prince Drake went back to the castle," Hera said to Elsa.
"Has something unfortunate happened to Queen Irina and Aunt Milda?" Elsa inquired with concern.
"Wait here. I’ll fetch the letter inside. Drake sent me a separate one. It’s better if you read it for yourself," Hera stated, leaving Elsa in the garden.
As Elsa observed the elves passing by her mother’s cabin while awaiting Hera’s return, she couldn’t help but recall the day she first met Chris.
’Chris... Will I ever see you again? I am carrying your child, and I am scared...’ she thought to herself.
Hera returned promptly and handed the letter to Elsa. Hera observed the myriad of expressions on her daughter’s face as she read Drake’s five-page letter.
"Oh my God! So, it’s the queen? I knew she was up to no good. She disliked me from the moment she laid eyes on me, and I didn’t like her. She gave me bad vibes," Elsa remarked after reading the letter.
"A part of me feels pity for her. She had spent her life staying beside the man who would never love her. I cannot imagine myself in that situation," Hera said.
"And Drake and Arla! I slept too long, Mom, I missed a lot!" Elsa bubbled.
"Well, what can I say? Those two have been stealing glances ever since we were teenagers. If only had found out sooner then they might have kids by now." 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Both women laughed heartily before the laughter was interrupted by Elandir.
"I can see that you two are enjoying the sun. Unfortunately or rather fortunately I have to interrupt. My mother said that she will start training you tomorrow."
"Aw, that fast? I was hoping to spend more time with my mother," Elsa complained.
"It’s okay, dear. We have a lifetime together. I also have a class. Your mom is an honorary elven teacher here," Hera winked, prompting Elsa to chuckle.
"Well, I’m feeling much better now. I don’t know why, but I feel fine and strong," Elsa mentioned.
"It could be because of your baby’s blood. Your baby is a half-werewolf, so it helps your body regain strength quickly," Elandir suggested.
"Wow, if that’s the case, maybe I can start training today?"
"I will be teaching the concept of the earth element today to young healers. You can join my class if you want," Hera offered.
"Can I come too? I have nothing to do today, and I am bored," Elandir asked Hera.
"Alright, you both can join my class. Let me just get my wand," Hera said before walking back to the cabin.
"Are you sure you’re feeling okay, princess?" Elandir asked.
"Physically, yes. Emotionally, I don’t know. I have to keep myself busy, or else I might storm off to Arcanis and get Chris out of there," Elsa confided in Elandir.
"Don’t worry. My mother will surely keep you busy in your training," Elandir assured.
The classroom that Elsa was expecting was not the same as what she saw. There was a chair under a big tree and the students were gathered in front of it.
"You don’t have a classroom here?" she asked her mom.
"We have, but today I will teach them here. I may not be an earth mage but I can still teach these kids the basics of it," Hera replied before heading to the chair.
Elsa listened carefully to her mom as she began her lecture. It was nostalgic for her since Hera used to teach her the four elements back then.
"So since you now know that Elven Healers use the earth element to heal not only people and animals but also plants let’s try it out," Hera announces to the class.
She then gave everyone a pot with a withered plant, almost dead since all its leaves were dry and brown. She also gave one to Elandir and Elsa.
"Those plants are not dead yet but they were starved of water for two weeks. Now hover your hands on it and gather the mana from your surroundings just like what we practiced before. Once your hands turned warm and you feel like you’ve already gathered enough mana, go and transfer that mana to the plant," Hera instructed.
Everyone focused on their own plant as Hera roamed around to check each and every one of her students.
Elandir revived his plant in just three seconds and surprisingly Elsa was able to slowly revive hers just a little bit faster than the students.
"You are a fast learner, princess!" Elandir cheered.
"Not really. I was not like this before. But today I just feel extra energized. It could be my baby," Elsa said.
"Yes, that could be it," Elandir replied.
When the plant was back to life again, Elsa pulled her hands away but the plant kept flourishing and it grew flowers.
"Hmm, I think you have even transferred that energy to your plant. It looks ’very’ energized," Elandir said as the watched the plant grow more stems and flowers.
"Uhm, is it supposed to do that?" Elsa asked when her plant started to grow vines that soon reached out to her hand and crawled on her arm.
"Oh look, teacher, teacher! That woman’s plant is very alive," called out by Hera’s student.
"Oh fuck, MOM!" Elsa shouted.
She managed to free her arm from the encroaching vines but accidentally knocked over the pot, causing it to break. The roots of her plant swiftly buried themselves into the soil, continuing to grow larger and taller.
Everyone watched Elsa’s plant grow taller than the trees around them before Hera called out Elandir.
"Really Elandir? You are just going to watch like my students and will not do anything?" Hera said.
"But it’s fun to watch your daughter create a giant tree that might reach up to the heavens," Elandir quipped causing Hera to shake her head in annoyance to the elf.
