The Royal Mark-Chapter 161: A Simple Task

Elsa marveled at the power of the staff, and she couldn’t believe that there was an object like that, which could end all their problems right now... Yes, it could be the solution, she thought.

She contemplated, "If it is that powerful, then why are you giving it back? It was not as if it was stolen. It was given by choice and not by force," Elsa queried Chris.

"The Elves have been the keeper of peace ever since Vectus Mundus came to life. That is why the Tree of Life and the portal to Novus Mundus were placed in Qiryn. Who knows what else are they hiding in their kingdom," Chris explained.

He returned the staff to its crate and added, "The heavens trusted the elves, so that’s what I am going to do. Some people think they are cunning, but I see them as wise. They see through people and therefore adjust their dealing with others based on the individual itself. Besides, this staff belongs to them their ancestors were the ones who crafted it and it was created for a good purpose. If they really wanted to get rid of us, then they would have done that a long time ago."

"That is so wise of you. I’m glad I married you," Elsa complimented as she embraced Chris.

"Come on, you must be hungry. Let’s join the others."

Everyone was pigging out on the feast that Andrius prepared for them then Chris and Elsa arrived on the main deck of the ship.

"Wow, is the food really that delicious?" Elsa asked before she took a seat.

"Yes, princess. Plus we haven’t eaten anything since midnight and it’s already past noon, so we are really hungry," Arla mentioned.

"How long before we arrive at Qiryn?" Elsa asked Dasher.

"Since the Prince wanted to take the normal speed to prevent others from suspecting us, then it would take a week before we reach Qiryn," Dasher answered.

"I can continue my training then. What element should I practice next?" she asked Arla.

"You can choose either water or air since we are surrounded by that," Arla suggested.

[Do water. It will help you balance and control the anger that you are feeling because of Nuri.] Ciel interjected.

"Let’s do water," Elsa tersely answered.

Chris cleared his throat and asked Rylie, "Water training is not as devastating as fire right?"

But instead of Rylie answering his question, Elsa rebutted, "Are you telling me that I might destroy this ship and drown everyone?"

Chris shook his hands and replied, "No, no, no, that’s not what I meant. It’s water, I just don’t want you soaking when we only brought a few clothes with us."

Elsa pursed her lips and did not reply anymore and continued eating instead.

"Don’t worry Your Highness, water training will be much easier for the princess since she already learned mana allocation. So controlling water would be a piece of cake for her," Rylie said.

’Is it true Nile?’ Elsa asked.

Elsa gulped at Nile’s revelation, but she promised herself to not give up. She must learn all her elements as soon as possible if she wants to help Chris take Arcanis back.

Just like what Nile said it was not easy. Two days had passed since they boarded the ship and all Elsa did was practice. Her training was very simple, Rylie tasked her to make the water from the cup rise and hold it in the air for five seconds.

"Your Highness, rest for a bit. We will resume after dinner," Rylie instructed.

Elsa sighed and walked back to their quarters with dropped shoulders, utterly disappointed with herself.

’Where are you? I need you,’ Elsa spoke to Chris through their bond.

And in just a matter of time, the door to their quarters opened wide, "I’m here, what’s wrong?"

Elsa’s tears fell like a waterfall and she wailed like a child whose lollipop got snatched. She buried her face on Chris’ chest and cried her heart out when he enveloped her in his embrace.

"Hey, hey, what happened? Is something aching with you?" Chris asked.

"Yes! My pride, my ego, my confidence, and my motivation!" Elsa wailed more and louder.

Chris tried his best to not smile, even though she was crying, he still found her sobbing face cute and adorable and it was making him want to pinch her cheeks. But he can’t do that or else she will get more hurt and will think that he is not taking her pain seriously.

"What exactly happened? Tell me, please. I couldn’t bear you crying and getting hurt," he urged.

"Rylie was asking me to do a very simple task. To make the water levitate for five seconds. I couldn’t even make it rise! All it does is move a bit and create ripples. It’s not rising at all!" Elsa continued to wail and Chris patted her back just listening to her, comforting her.

Elsa released all her stress and frustrations through her tears and after crying for a few minutes, she felt lighter and motivated again. "I will not give up! I will show Rylie that I can do that simple task of hers then I will ask for a difficult one." Elsa stood up and was ready to face Rylie once again.

"Ahh!"

Elsa shrieked when the ship shook, Chris was able to grab and protect her head before she hit the door jamb.

’Chris we are under attack!’ Aeson reported via their mind link.

"Fuck! Get your wand and dagger. We are under attack!" Chris ordered Elsa.

Without wasting a second, Elsa quickly took her dagger and wand and placed it in her leather belt sheath that she was already wearing. She insisted on wearing the leather armor that she asked Arla to buy while they were on the ship so she could move freely while training.

Before she can go out of their quarters Ciel calls her up together with Nile and Gaia, [Chris said to bring you the lifeboat and to drag you if we need to.]

"What? Why?" Elsa was totally confused about what was going on.

But before Ciel could answer her, she slashed her amethyst necklace and said, [I knew it. That bitch is just pretending to be nice!]

*BOOM*

Another loud explosion was heard before she could ask more from Ciel.

[They boarded the ship! LET’S GO!] Gaia exclaimed and pulled Elsa’s hand with her mouth.
