The Royal Mark-Chapter 113: The Bond is Weak
"You are already mated, Your Highness." Laureen’s grandmother said, shocking everyone in the room.
"What do you mean mated? How did that happen? Chris never marked me!" Elsa exclaimed not liking the old woman’s statement.
"Sometimes other werewolves like to hide their mark especially if they are in a place where no other werewolf could smell the person they marked. Could it be that someone else marked you?" Laureen’s mother, Inez Laura boldly asked.
"Impossible! I should have known it and Chris was the first werewolf that I met," Elsa retorted.
"Then let’s see who marked you," Laureen’s mother’s hands suddenly became engulfed in flames and Arla quickly stood in front of Elsa.
"Stay away from her my lady, there’s no need to protect her. My daughter-in-law knows what she’s doing," Laureen’s grandmother said.
Laureen then grabbed Arla’s arm to keep her away from her mother and Elsa. She whispered to her, "The bond is incomplete and the mark itself is only partial but it will still connect the princess to the werewolf who did that to her. He would only feel the princess’ strongest emotion since their bond is weak. And my mother is trying to evoke that feeling from her–the feeling of being in danger."
Arla relaxed her body after hearing Laureen’s explanation and stood in the corner of the room to watch.
"What are you doing? Are you trying to hurt me?!" Elsa exclaimed, feeling a bit scared. Laureen’s mom looked serious enough for her heart to beat fast. She looked like a serial killer with the look in her eyes and the smile that she was giving her.
"Yes, I will definitely hurt you. Or perhaps kill you. I may be a human from Zemaria but my home now is Arcanis. And I cannot let a person like you who just arrived here deceive our future king. You might have fooled him but you cannot delude everyone. I hope you know how to fight princess," Laureen’s mom then released a ball of fire towards Elsa which she luckily evaded.
"You almost hit my hair! It’s my wedding day, are you crazy?!" Elsa yelled but Inez fired another one instead.
Elsa was able to dodge the fireballs that Inez threw at her except for the last one that hit her robe. "What the hell!" Elsa exclaimed while patting the little fire on the hem of her silk robe.
*BANG*
"Elsa!"
All eyes went to the now wide-opened door and saw Chris with his elite alphas behind him.
"What the fuck is going on? Are you hurt?" Chris asked in worry as he walked towards her.
Elsa stood frozen in her spot, staring at Chris who was inspecting her body, looking for any injury. "Why are you here?"
Chris creased his forehead and said, "You called for me it was like I felt you were in danger."
"How Chris? How can I send you a thought or a feeling? We are not mated yet." Elsa mentioned.
"I know, but I am telling the truth. Maybe it’s one of your powers, I don’t know. I thought I heard you call my name and then I suddenly felt that you were nervous and scared. So I ran here and I was right!" He then faced Inez and asked angrily, "What do you think you are doing to your future Luna?"
But Inez raised both her hands in surrender with a smirk saying, "We are just testing our hypothesis. And it seems like we are correct."
"Prince Christopher! What are you doing in the bride’s room?! The groom must not see the bride before the wedding! It is bad luck. Go back to your room and get ready for your own wedding!" Mistress Valeria scolded.
"I wouldn’t be here if Elsa was not in danger in the first place," Chris replied.
"In danger?" Valeria exclaimed and then looked around checking what kind of danger is her granddaughter in, "But everything seems to be normal."
"Mistress Valeria, the princess seems to be mated to our prince already," Inez bravely stated.
"What? Mated? Do you understand what you are saying? That is a grave accusation for a prince and princess!" Valeria glowered at Inez.
"I apologize, mistress if it came out wrong. I am just stating a fact. The mark on the princess’ wrist is a mating mark. I have seen something like it before. My family was against my lover back then who is now my husband. I was his mate and to hide the mating mark, he bit me in my inner thigh so we could hear each other’s thoughts and feelings.
We were just eighteen back then and my husband was not that knowledgeable about werewolf traditions since his parents worked here and he grew up around humans. He didn’t know that marking me somewhere else would not complete the mating mark and mate bond.
And because of that, we were not able to freely hear each other’s thoughts and feelings. However, if we feel extreme emotions or thoughts then it could reach the other. But when we got married and he finally marked me in the right place, the mark on my thigh vanished and the mate bond was completed.
I think it will be the same case for the prince and princess. They are going to get married later anyway so it doesn’t matter. We just wanted to know who marked the princess without her knowledge that’s why we did what we had to do," Inez explained.
Valeria placed both her hands on her waist and glared at Chris, "You marked my granddaughter before she gets wed!"
Chris shook his hands and said, "That’s the thing. I did not mark her. I did not bite any parts of her — well..." Chris then frowned and thought deeply if he did bite Elsa on the wrist since he did bite her a little on her earlobes, breasts, lips, inner thigh, and other intimate places that he could get his mouth on.
"Christopher!!!" Elsa shouted pulling Chris back to reality.
"I am certain I did not mark her on the wrist, I swear to the Goddess of the Moon!"
