The Rising Phoenix-Chapter 694: Tell Me About My Mother
Chapter 694: Chapter 694: Tell Me About My Mother
Well, her mind wandered to the modern world where she lived before. She still could not believe that she was originally from this ancient time. Her mother sent half of her soul to the modern world to save her.
She started to think that the current world she lived in was not part of history or the modern world. She felt it was a parallel world. So, it was not the ancient Chinese time that she thought about.
Her mother must be so powerful that she could send her to another world. She wondered what price her mother needed to pay after performing such a ritual. That might be magnificent.
....
In far away place...
A woman in a blue dress looked up to the sky. She looked out at the small windows above her head. The star that she looked up at usually looked dim, but for the last two years, it shone brightly. She knew what this meant. She was happy for it.
She heard the footsteps outside the room. She changed her position and hid her emotions. She did not know the person who came over to see her expression.
When the door to her room opened, a man stepped inside, followed by another man. She stared vacantly. Her stare voided nothing.
The man at the front frowned as he saw the woman like this. He was hoping for some reaction from the woman, but he was disappointed.
"How long are you going to give me this attitude?" The man asked.
The woman did not give him any reaction. She ignored the man and stared blankly at him.
"Are you still thinking about that man?" The man asked.
For a moment, the man saw a reaction from the woman. But it was only for a second. He gritted his teeth. They had been separated for over a decade, but she still remembered that man. What made that man so special in her eyes?
"Do you want to see your child?" The man suddenly spoke.
The woman suddenly glared at the man. The man laughed.
"So, your children are the most important people in your life. I should take your child here to accompany you." The man smiled.
The woman did not say anything but still glared at him. The stare was full of hatred. That made the man feel so hurt. He remembered the warning that she had given him after she had brought him back here.
’Don’t you dare touch my children? Otherwise, I will make you regret your whole f**king life.’
The woman shouted as she glared at the man. She was serious and he knew it. He did not dare to do anything to her children.
"Master, we should leave now." Another man said to the man.
The man was reluctant to leave but he needed to leave. Another failed day. He hoped to hear her voice but failed.
The woman changed her expression. She hoped that no one could touch her children anymore.
....
Bai Xifeng woke up. She slept well. She climbed down from the bed. Then she heard Xiao Li’s voice asking if she could enter the room. She replied by saying yes. She wondered how Xiao Li knew that she had already woken up. She saw Xiao Li enter with a basin of clean water.
"Xiao Li, how do you know that I woke up?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"Well, I use my element attribute to sense it. When Young Miss gets out of bed, your legs touch the ground. That is how I know when you wake up." Xiao Li answered.
"Oh... That is a kind of impressive." Bai Xifeng nodded.
Bai Xifeng washed her face and changed her clothes.
"Is my father and brother gone out?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"Yes. They told Uncle Chao that they would be returned in the afternoon. They made a fuss not want to go to the morning meeting. But they remembered that they wanted to invite others. They want to spread the news first before handing out the invitation cards." Xiao Li said.
"They are really excited about that." Bai Xifeng said.
"Of course, they are going to be excited. The banquet is about you, Young Miss. To be honest, I feel excited. It is the first time that the banquet is about you. I am looking forward to the banquet. In the past, I envied other maids when their young miss had a banquet for them. The young miss did not have one. I feel bad for Young Miss." Xiao Li said in a sad tone but she changed her tone. "But after Master and Young Master reunited with Young Miss, I feel happy for you. Right now, they hold a banquet just for you, Young Miss."
"Silly girl." Bai Xifeng chuckled.
"It would be even better if Madam were here together." Xiao Li said.
"Xiao Li, can you tell me about my mother? I don’t remember much about her." Bai Xifeng suddenly felt curious about her mother.
"Madam is the kindest person that I know. She saved me when 3 years old. Along with me, there were 3 other girls. She offered us to be the maid in the house. We are supposed to serve you. However, those girls, after knowing that Madam died and we often got bullied by others, those girls betrayed you. They worked under someone else in the Bai Family. But their lives were not long. They were accidentally being killed by Second Young Miss and Fourth Young Miss."
