The Rise of the Iron Wall!-Chapter 110: The New Members of the Team!
"U—Um! My name is Denji Hotaru, as in Den for electric, and Ki for spirit!" One of the twins there raised his voice with a straight posture, as if he were a soldier coming to the camp for the first time here. "I am from Saitama, my position is left wing, and I am coming here to play with Hiroshi-senpai!"
"M—My name is Denji Hotaru as an energetic child, and I am his older brother! I am also from Saitama, with my position being the right wing, and I am coming here to play with Hiroshi-senpai as well! N—Nice to meet you, everyone!" The other twin followed the introduction, even if he stuttered a little bit.
All the Hakodate Nishi players were dumbfounded here, with some having their jaws dropped from seeing twin kids for the first time in their lives. Hell, Jun even rubbed his eyes secretly, wondering whether he was too exhausted from the training session.
However, some educated boys here caught the important information.
"So, that’s your kouhai, Hiroshi?" Takaaki asked, narrowing his eyes slightly at the twins.
"Yup, yup! Don’t underestimate them, because they are good enough to enter our middle school’s main team during their freshman year!" Hiroshi chirped like a happy bird.
The way Hiroshi talked about his middle school and how Takaaki and Makino nodded in understanding led Higo to believe that Hiroshi’s former school should be a powerhouse.
Also, with how the twins’ eyes shining brightly when they looked at Hiroshi, the way they talked that they were here to play with him as if they were ready to devote their life to the boy indicating that there was a huge story here, one that Higo saved on the back of his head as one of ’Hiroshi’s mysterious origin stories’.
Meanwhile, Kumiko’s eyes also shone brightly, definitely ecstatic with the addition of the twins to the team. She knew what kind of middle school Hiroshi came from, and the quality of the players was top-notch. Moreover, with two wingers on the team, it would enrich their tactical offense, something they lacked when they played against Sappotani a few weeks ago.
Still, it wasn’t the time for her to think about that. No, there were two more players to be introduced, so the girl thanked the twins quickly and let the next boy step forward.
"Hello, everyone, my name is Makabe Kenji, and I am from Sapporo. I come here after watching how you guys play in the final of the winter tournament last year, and it inspires me a lot! My position is a striker, so please, give me your guidance!"
This time, everyone was blinded by the new boy’s shining smile. It was clear that he was a handsome boy, with a series of white teeth shining even brighter than the sky outside when he smiled and a slick haircut that gave him the ’I am handsome, and I know it’ impression.
More than that, though, he introduced himself confidently, and in the last part, the boy didn’t forget to turn to Kumiko, winking subtly with his seductive smile. Seeing this, Higo’s face turned dark, knowing what kind of boy he was facing right now.
’Fuck, a playboy through and through!’ He cursed.
Not just him, but all the Hakodate Nishi’s old players also glared at the boy with eyes full of hostility. Even though at this point, most of them realized that they couldn’t win the race against Makino and Higo, that didn’t mean they would let a mere freshman grab their lovely head coach’s attention here.
Hell, they even started to doubt this Kenji boy’s motivation to come here when he said that he was impressed with the team. It was clear that the boy only had his eyes on Kumiko since the beginning, not really caring about the team at all.
To Kenji’s surprise, though, Kumiko didn’t even blink, just still with her ordinary smile as she greeted him back. "Nice to meet you, too, Kenji-kun. I am happy that our performance last year was able to inspire you to come here!"
The boy blinked several times, glancing around confusedly. In his mind, this kind of smile had never failed to make the girls swoon over him, and yet, here Kumiko was, not even having a change of expression at all.
’A tough nut to crack, huh? Interesting...’ The boy suddenly got excited, imagining how to conquer the girl in front of him.
If the others knew what he thought, though, he would’ve been beaten instantly here. After all, not only was he so arrogant and didn’t give the senpai any face, but it was also a lecherous and indecorous thought, and if someone misinterpreted it in a sexual way, it was a one-way ticket to expulsion immediately.
Kumiko just shook her head at the boy’s antics, not even interested at all here. Then, she turned to the last boy, and with her business-like smile, the girl asked, "So, how about you?"
This time, all the people there gulped nervously, with some of the short-tempered boys, like Makino, ready to jump if the boy was here to make a ruckus.
After all, the first impression the boy gave was that he was a scoundrel here, what with the long blonde hair that covered his eyes slightly and the stoic expression on his face. Coupled with the trace of earrings on his ears, it was clear that the boy was a troublemaker, and they couldn’t help but be wary here.
However, much to everyone’s surprise, they saw the boy’s cheek reddened for a moment, and as if trying to gather his courage, the boy took a deep breath before shouting, "MY NAME IS KEITA SANO, AND I AM FROM HAKODATE! THIS IS MY FIRST TIME PLAYING FOOTBALL! AS FOR MY REASON..."
He glanced slightly at Kumiko, just to have his blush intensified when he was greeted back by the angelic smile shining on the girl’s face. Seeing this, Higo couldn’t help but groan again, inwardly cursing, ’Great, another simp to compete! Fuck it!’
