Chapter 373: Chapter 363: The Bald Guy is Coming to Arrest People! (5)

"Is there anything you can’t do, Big Bro?" Li Yunzhe asked, his face full of admiration as he walked into dorm 708.

He thought back to how he had swaggered and flaunted himself when he first arrived at the university, and a wave of irrepressible shame washed over him.

"Fourth Bro, why don’t you just be his dad? Seriously, this kid practically worships you like one!" Li Qiuzhe said, giving him a disdainful look.

"Get lost!" Qin Fan laughed, playfully messing up Li Qiuzhe’s hair before sitting down on the sofa. Changing the subject, he asked, "Did anything happen while I was gone?"

"Nothing major, except that under the leadership of Brother Qiuze from the Northeast, we’ve all become famous! We’re now the number one troublemakers among the freshmen!" Wang Dalu sighed, shaking his head in resignation. "I just wanted to be a quiet, handsome man. Why is it so hard with you guys around? Ugh."

"Handsome man, my ass! You’re a pipsqueak who’s barely one-seventy! If your Brother Qiuze hadn’t taken you under his wing, you’d still be a nobody! Look at you now! Who among the freshmen doesn’t know Big Brother Dalu? Could you have ever dreamed of this kind of reputation? You should be thanking me!" Li Qiuzhe grumbled.

"Fine! I don’t know about reputation, but under your leadership, we’ve been branded as troublemakers, hotheads, reckless fools, and even idiots! Those labels are all stuck to us now. Thank God you’re back, Fourth Bro. Otherwise, this guy would have ruined our lives!" Zhu Houqing couldn’t help but add with feeling.

Listening to their banter, Qin Fan felt a warm sense of brotherhood wash over him.

"By the way, Big Bro, there’s something I’m not sure if I should tell you," Li Yunzhe suddenly blurted out.

Everyone froze and turned to look at him.

"If you have something to say, just say it. What’s wrong?" Qin Fan said with a smile.

"Remember that time we fought those thugs outside the bar? It’s been so long I thought the whole thing was over. But in the last few days, some of my buddies who run in those circles told me that gang is planning to get revenge. They might even come to campus to grab one of us!" Li Yunzhe said with a serious expression.

"How do they know we’re students at Jinling University?" Zhu Houqing’s expression shifted slightly.

"I don’t know. It’s probably because we’ve been making too much noise on campus lately. There were plenty of people who saw us fight that night, and it’s likely some of them were Jinling University students. With word of mouth, it wouldn’t be surprising if they not only know we’re students, but might even know our names by now," Li Yunzhe explained.

"Shit! What’s there to be afraid of? Let them come if they’ve got the guts! They’re just men, same as us. Who’s afraid of who?" The ever-reckless Li Qiuzhe tossed his towel aside and boasted defiantly.

"Big Bro, we’re here to study, not to be gangsters! Those guys are actual criminals! We’re so screwed this time, what are we going to do?!" Wang Dalu began to panic, his voice trembling.

As a model student from an ordinary family, he had only fought outside the bar because they were forced into it. He had assumed they could just fight and flee in a strange city without any consequences and never expected to be tracked down. With his academic career and diploma on the line, how could he possibly stay calm?

"If they really come to the school to grab one of us, best-case scenario, we get disciplined by the university. Worst-case... who knows what’ll happen if they get their hands on us. Yunzhe, you have friends in those circles. Can you ask them to smooth this over?" Zhu Houqing asked timidly, swallowing hard.

"My so-called ’friends’ are just small fry. How could they settle something like this? But it is my fault. If I had known those guys were the East District Baldies, I never would’ve let us fight them. If this rumor is true, we really need to lay low for a while. What do you think, Big Bro?" Li Yunzhe said, his own confidence shaken.

At this point, seeing Li Yunzhe’s unusually grave expression, Li Qiuzhe realized this wasn’t as simple as he’d thought. Life isn’t always about just being tough. If they ran into someone truly ruthless, a few students like them would be in way over their heads. Even if Fourth Bro Qin Fan was a great fighter, what good would that be? Could he fight a bullet?

"Yunzhe, are you saying we should all take a leave of absence and go into hiding?" Li Qiuzhe asked, licking his suddenly dry lips. His usual carefree, reckless attitude was gone.

"Let’s wait and see. I’ve already told my dad and my uncle. They know a lot of people in Jinling and told me to wait for word from them. They’ll see if this can be resolved. If not, then we really have to leave. We can’t take that risk," Li Yunzhe said.

"Alright, everyone calm down." Qin Fan glanced at his friends’ panicked expressions and chuckled dismissively. He patted Li Qiuzhe and the others on their shoulders to reassure them. "With me here, how could I let anything happen to you? If the sky falls, I’ll hold it up for you. Besides, what’s a few gangsters? Yunzhe, think about it. They couldn’t have just found out we’re Jinling University students, so why wait over twenty days to talk about revenge? That’s not normal for those vindictive street thugs, is it?"

"Big Bro, this is just a rumor I heard. They say the East District Baldies have been staked out near the university for a while. We haven’t gone out lately, and they don’t dare come onto campus. But now, the rumor is that their boss has somehow connected with the son of a powerful official here in Jinling.

"With that kind of backing, he won’t have to be so careful anymore. Of course, in my opinion, it’s not certain they’ll actually enter campus to grab us. I suspect the boss is just spreading this rumor to test the attitude of the official’s son who’s protecting him.

"But no matter what, he won’t let us go. The story of how a few students wiped them out is known all over the Jinling underworld. If they don’t get their revenge, they’ll become a complete laughingstock and lose all face. That’s why I don’t think it’ll work even if my dad and uncle try to mediate. We really have to be prepared."

"They’ve been waiting to ambush us outside the school? Why didn’t you tell us sooner?" Li Qiuzhe’s eyes widened.

"What good would it have done? It would have just made you all panic. The whole reason I moved in here and started sleeping on the floor was to watch over you guys and stop you from going out. Haven’t you noticed how I sabotaged your plans to leave campus several times?" Li Yunzhe explained.

Just as he finished speaking, his phone rang.

Seeing the caller ID, Li Yunzhe’s demeanor immediately grew tense. "Hello, Uncle? How did it go?" he answered anxiously.

"Yunzhe, your father and I did our best. The other party said they would drop the matter with you, out of respect for your grandfather.

"But as for your classmates... we’re powerless to help. Arrange for them to leave the school immediately. We’ll figure something out after things have cooled down. You know exactly what will happen to them if the Baldies get their hands on them."
