The sight left even Qin Fan clicking his tongue in astonishment.

"Hmph, a miscalculation. Well, may you have a better fate in your next life." Shaking his head with a sigh, his face expressionless, Qin Fan took several True Fire Talismans from his pocket and tossed them onto the man.

"Burn!"

Under the gaze of his Eyes of Golden Flame, the True Fire Talismans immediately burst into intense flames. The middle-aged man's corpse emitted a series of piercing sizzles under the talismans' power. In less than half a minute, the body turned to dust and vanished from the world.

Qin Fan showed no emotional fluctuation. He put his hands in his pockets and shook his head with some regret. After all, failing to find out who was behind the man was a definite miscalculation.

"He's not wrong about that! A gentleman can be killed but not insulted. The pride of a Northeasterner is not something I can just throw away!" Spurred on by Qin Fan's words, Li Qiuzhe responded with renewed vigor.

He jumped down from his bed, glanced at the desk, and added, "Damn, that big-tailed wolf from next door didn't buy us breakfast today!"

"Boss, do you really think Li Yunzhe is your wife and has to wait on you?" Zhu Houqing teased, rubbing his eyes.

"Just saying, Boss, if you're not into women, someone of Li Yunzhe's type should be able to satisfy you! Haha!" Wang Dalu chimed in.

"Fuck off, I can't be bothered with you guys!"

Li Qiuzhe didn't rise to the bait, simply waving their jests away as he walked into the bathroom.

"You guys hurry up. Being late and becoming the center of attention isn't something to be proud of," Qin Fan said, shaking his head as he urged Zhu Houqing and Wang Dalu on.

After a summer vacation of more than two months of indulgence, it was clear these freshmen hadn't yet readjusted.

A few minutes later, as Qin Fan and his roommates walked out of the dorm, Li Yunzhe, who had been waiting in the corridor for some time, immediately rushed over.

He smiled fawningly at Qin Fan. "Big Brother, are you satisfied with the furniture I got for you?"

"It's not bad," Qin Fan replied with a faint smile.

"Hehe, as long as you're happy, Big Brother, that's all that matters! That's all that matters! By the way, Big Brother, what's your name?" Li Yunzhe babbled obsequiously as he trotted alongside Qin Fan.

"If I told you, it'd scare you to death!" Zhu Houqing said, giving him a strange look.

"Impossible! Absolutely not!" Li Yunzhe declared, shaking his head earnestly.

"Hey! I'm talking to you, the big-tailed wolf from Room 709," Li Qiuzhe said smugly, tilting his head. "Weren't you going to challenge all of Room 708? Where did all that courage and boldness go? You're making your Brother Ze here very uncomfortable!"

"No, no, no, my esteemed big brothers, I was wrong! I was just joking around, pretending to be a big-tailed wolf. I wouldn't dare, I really wouldn't, hehe!" Li Yunzhe said.

He wouldn't dare? In my past life, you bullied the guys in Room 708 relentlessly! And now you say it was just a joke?

But Qin Fan wasn't bothered by it.

"Qin Fan," he said, ignoring their playful banter.

That's about the extent of his ambition! What a bullshit perfect-score champion. Just the fact that he chose Jinling University tells me he has no future! Listening to Li Yunzhe's grand speech, the expressions on Li Qiuzhe and the other two grew incredibly strange. All three seemed to be struggling to hold something back. But Li Yunzhe didn't notice them this time, as his focus was entirely on belittling the perfect-score champion.

Look at your courage, then look at his pathetic ambition. You two are worlds apart! You're the real deal, while that freak is a real dumbass!" Li Yunzhe's chatter continued endlessly.

He was so animated that he looked like he was about to fall to his knees and worship Qin Fan. Yet this reverence seemed to be built entirely on tearing down the perfect-score champion.

"Oh?" Qin Fan raised the corner of his mouth in a playful smirk. "And how exactly is that guy a poser and a dumbass in your eyes?"

Staring at Li Yunzhe's sycophantic expression, Qin Fan was also at a loss. In his past life, Li Yunzhe certainly liked to act tough, but I never saw such a shameless, bottom-feeding side to him!
