The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 30 - 29: Be a Good Person in the Next Life! (Vote and tip, please!)
SIZZLE, SIZZLE, SIZZLE...
The moment the golden fire ignited, the herbs in the pan began to slowly melt, and a thick, medicinal fragrance wafted through the air.
Under Qin Fan’s unblinking gaze, over a million dollars’ worth of precious herbs in the pan eventually melted into a pool of liquid under the heat of the golden fire. But Qin Fan didn’t move just yet, allowing the fire to continue its work. The concoction transitioned from solid to liquid, then thickened into a viscous paste.
As the fragrance filled the room, Qin Fan finally moved. He leisurely picked up a spatula and began to stir and toss the contents of the pan. There wasn’t the slightest acrid, burning smell; in fact, even the smoke rising from the pan carried a deeply refreshing aroma.
After a round of stirring, Qin Fan gripped the pan’s handle and forcefully flung its contents upward. The viscous, semi-liquid mixture detached from the pan and soared into the air, separating into three distinct clumps before falling back down.
Qin Fan immediately covered the pan with a lid. He then took another piece of Yellow Paper and drew on it with his fingertip. As a golden light shimmered, he tossed the paper directly into the golden fire.
WHOOSH—
The already intense golden fire suddenly grew even more turbulent. From within the pan, a sound like popping beans echoed amidst the ferocious flames.
Half an hour later, the sound ceased and the golden fire vanished. Only then did Qin Fan lift the lid. The pills were complete.
Three Nourishing Yuan Pills, shimmering with a golden glow, lay revealed amidst the pervasive fragrance. Against the encroaching darkness of night, the light from the three pills was undeniably bright.
Wholly absorbed in his Alchemy, Qin Fan only now realized that several hours had passed.
"The golden fire of the early Qi Refinement realm is such a hassle. It took several hours just for a few Nourishing Yuan Pills. If I had the Samadhi True Fire of the Foundation Establishment Stage, I could whip these up in minutes. It can’t be helped, it really can’t," he muttered with a bitter smile. He knew he would have to find another excuse to placate his parents.
After mumbling to himself, he took out a medicine bottle he had purchased from a roadside stall, stored the three Nourishing Yuan Pills inside, and finally left the rented room.
At home, Qin Chu and Wei Shuying were frowning with worry. Qin Fan’s phone was unreachable, and he was nowhere to be seen. This had never happened before. If not for the policy of waiting twenty-four hours to file a missing person’s report, the couple would have certainly called the police.
CLANG—
The front door was suddenly thrown open.
Qin Chu and Wei Shuying both jumped, reflexively turning to look. They shouted in unison, "Little Fan!"
"Dad, Mom, I was out with classmates and lost track of time! Sorry to have worried you," Qin Fan said with a broad smile as he closed the door.
"Playing? Is this how you play? Have you even looked at the time? It’s past nine! You played so long you forgot about dinner? Your father and I called you dozens of times, and it went straight to voicemail every time. Couldn’t you have called to let us know you were okay?" Wei Shuying chided, her relief tinged with rare displeasure. This child is getting more and more out of hand!
Only then did Qin Fan remember that he had turned off his phone to avoid being disturbed during his Alchemy. "My phone died," he explained awkwardly. "And I already ate outside! Alright, Mom, Dad, I’m going to my room to take a shower."
Before his parents could ask any more questions, he hurried into his room, leaving Qin Chu and Wei Shuying feeling helpless.
「The next day.」
Having nearly absorbed all the Spiritual Energy from Qingling Lake, Qin Fan didn’t go out. Instead, he lazed about in a half-asleep state until the sun was high in the sky before finally getting out of bed.
After washing up, he was about to open the door to leave when his footsteps suddenly halted. A cold, sinister smile appeared on his face. Shaking his head in mock pity, he casually opened the front door.
The moment he stepped outside, the doors of an SUV parked at his gate flew open. Two burly men swiftly clamped down on his arms and, without a word, shoved him into the back seat.
With an imperceptible, silent smile, Qin Fan let them do as they pleased.
This didn’t surprise the two men, who simply assumed Qin Fan was frozen with shock. After all, the reputation of the Qin family’s cast-off son as a good-for-nothing was well known to anyone who was anyone in Jiangzhou. For a loser like that to be scared witless during a kidnapping was perfectly normal.
The instant Qin Fan was pushed into the car, the SUV sped off. From the men getting out to the abduction and their departure, the entire process took less than a minute. They were clearly well-trained.
"Who are you people? What do you want? Where are you taking me?" Qin Fan asked calmly, sandwiched between the two hulking men in the back. There was no trace of panic or fear in his voice. This caused the men in the car to frown slightly, but they didn’t give it much thought. No one answered him, so Qin Fan didn’t bother asking again.
After a ten-minute high-speed drive, the SUV finally stopped in an abandoned factory.
One of the burly men dragged Qin Fan roughly from the car. "Weren’t you asking what we want? I’ll tell you now. We get paid to solve people’s problems, and someone paid us to take your legs. Brace yourself, kid."
CLANG—
With that, he reached into the car and pulled out a steel pipe.
"Fourth Bro, make it quick! Let’s get this over with," said the other man, who had moved to the front passenger seat and rolled down the window to watch.
The burly man nodded. Gripping Qin Fan’s shoulder with one hand, he swung the steel pipe toward Qin Fan’s ankle with the other.
In that critical moment, Qin Fan smiled. It was a smile of profound amusement, a smile of pure demonic delight.
"This must be fate. It seems even the heavens have had enough of you."
As he spoke with a mocking laugh, just as the steel pipe was about to land on his foot, Qin Fan suddenly shrugged his shoulders. The True Qi erupting from him blasted the burly man away.
Before the man could react, Qin Fan launched himself from the ground, soaring into the air. He moved so fast that he was above the burly man in an instant. A cold smile spread across his face, his killing intent palpable. While still in the air, he brought his right foot crashing down onto the burly man’s chest.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
A series of sickening snaps echoed. The man’s pupils dilated in shock, even before his body hit the ground. A gout of blood and organ fragments erupted from his mouth. With a heavy THUD, the muscular corpse crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. He was dead before he could utter a sound.
A one-kick kill.
"Impossible! That’s impossible! It can’t be!"
Inside the SUV, the two remaining men, who had been watching as if it were a show, turned deathly pale. Their eyes filled with incredulous terror.
"Go! Go! Get out of here, now!" the man in the passenger seat shrieked in panic the moment Qin Fan’s smiling gaze fell upon the SUV.
"Go? You’re not going anywhere," Qin Fan said, shaking his head mockingly.
Just as the SUV’s engine roared to life, he casually waved his hand toward the driver’s side window.
CRASH—
With a single swipe, the window shattered into a fine powder. In the same motion, Qin Fan’s fingers curled into a claw and shot into the car. He grabbed the terrified driver’s neck and gave it a sharp twist.
CRACK!
The moment Qin Fan let go, the man’s head slumped lifelessly to the side.
Another one dead.
"Are you going to get out on your own, or should I help you?" Standing by the open driver’s door, Qin Fan looked at the sole survivor with a harmless smile.
"I’ll get out! I’ll get out myself!" the survivor screamed, his mind completely blank. With trembling fingers, he fumbled with the door handle and stumbled out, rolling onto the ground.
The only reason they hadn’t brought guns was because their target was the cast-off from the Qin family. Only now did he realize...
They were wrong. Everyone was wrong. The whole world was wrong! This was the coward everyone could trample on? This was the good-for-nothing everyone could humiliate? If he was, then the whole world was full of useless trash and scumbags!
"Who sent you? Speak," Qin Fan said with a faint smile, looking down at the man who had rolled to a stop and was now kneeling before him.
"If I talk, will you let me live?" the man stuttered, his body shaking uncontrollably.
"I only have three seconds of patience," Qin Fan huffed.
"Brother Hao! Zhao Yuhao! It was Brother Hao!" the man blurted out in a panic.
Zhao Yuhao? Isn’t that Ye Jizu’s representative in the Underworld? He’s the one who took this job?
"Where is he?" A cold, wicked smile touched Qin Fan’s lips as he asked softly.
"The Tangren Clubhouse! Don’t kill me! Please, don’t kill me! I’ve told you everything I know! Don’t kill me!"
"Try to be a good person in your next life." Ignoring the man’s frantic kowtowing, Qin Fan shook his head and spoke softly. He lifted his foot and stomped on the back of the man’s head.
The man’s struggling ceased.
Qin Fan smiled and shook his head again. He then opened the driver’s side door, dragged out the corpse, and slid into the seat.
The car started, turned around, and sped away.
Zhao Yuhao? The Tangren Clubhouse? Heh... things are getting interesting.
