The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 240 - 236: Not Only Playing You, But Also Sorting You Out! (3)
"I'm his employer. Let him go," Qin Fan said with a faint smile, stepping to the front of the car as the man's threats died down.
"Sure, no problem at all!" The man with the thick gold chain smirked proudly, releasing the young driver he had pinned against the hood.
"Go wait in the car," Qin Fan said to the driver, patting the dust off his clothes with a chuckle. "And if you ever run into something like this again, don't panic. You hear me? Never panic. If money can solve the problem, it's not worth panicking over."
"Thank you, Boss! Thank you!" The designated driver looked incredibly grateful, nodding vigorously as he scurried back to the car. He was just a driver earning a wage, and his connection to Qin Fan was merely that of a stranger met by chance. Faced with a potential payment of ten thousand yuan—an enormous sum for him—he certainly wasn't about to puff out his chest and heroically take responsibility.
However, hearing Qin Fan's words made the men across from him laugh, thinking he was about to pay them off to make the problem go away.
"Hand over the money! Ten thousand yuan, and we'll call it even," the leader sneered. "Cash or WeChat transfer, whatever's convenient for you."
"They say a problem that can be solved with money isn't really a problem," Qin Fan replied with a flippant, teasing smile. "But in this case, I don't think money is required to solve it at all."
"Are you messing with me?" Hearing this, the man's eyes widened in a glare, his smug expression twisting into rage. The men behind him tensed and stepped forward.
"I'm not just messing with you. I'm going to teach you a lesson." Before the man could react, Qin Fan shot forward, grabbed the leader by the throat, and slammed his head against the SUV's rear windshield.
BANG!
The leader howled in pain, stars exploding in his vision from the impact.
"Saw the out-of-town plates and thought you'd try a staged-accident scam? Fine. You want a collision? I'll give you one!" Qin Fan sneered, still gripping his neck as he smashed the man's head against the rear windshield again.
"Get him!"
Seeing the sudden violence, the other men charged forward, swinging their fists. But these scrubs, unworthy of even being called minions, couldn't get near him. Before they could even touch Qin Fan, a single, fluid kick sent all three sprawling to the ground, unconscious.
Seeing his three accomplices crumple after a single kick, the leader, a large bump already forming on the back of his head, began to panic. He tried to whimper, but Qin Fan's grip on his throat was too tight for him to beg for mercy.
Qin Fan just shook his head with a cold smile, ignoring the man's desperate whimpers. He continued to smash the man's head against the rear windshield. With each impact, the cracks on the glass spread. Before the window shattered, however, the man's eyes rolled back in his head and he passed out.
At that, Qin Fan stopped and tossed the man to the ground. He dusted off his hands and was about to head back to the car when a woman's voice called out from the side.
"Little Brother!"
Little Brother? Hmm?
Qin Fan's steps faltered. He frowned and slowly turned to see two fashionably dressed, rather attractive women walking toward him.
"Little Brother, don't you recognize me? It's me, from last time! At the Royal Party? With Master Hei? Have you forgotten?" Zhong Litong called out with excitement, apparently having forgotten her own panicked and disheveled state during that encounter. A second later, however, her eyes fell on the men lying motionless on the ground, and her excitement curdled into horror. "Are... are they dead?" she stammered.
"Don't bother me. Get lost," Qin Fan said, shooting them a cold glance before turning to leave.
He had just taken a step when the designated driver suddenly scrambled out of the car. "Boss, the car won't start!" he cried out in a panic. He was truly terrified now. He thought his boss was going to pay the ten thousand yuan to make the problem go away. Who could have guessed his solution would be violence? This was going to spiral into serious trouble! As the catalyst for the incident, the designated driver was terrified of being implicated.
"Oh, it's fine. There are motorcycle taxis over there. We'll just grab one. You can go home," Qin Fan said. He pulled a thick wad of hundred-yuan bills from his pocket, clearly no less than two thousand, and handed it to the driver. "Take this. It's your pay."
"Boss, that's too much! Three hundred is enough. That's the price we agreed on!" The driver shook his head frantically, waving his hands in refusal. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"Take it. Consider it hazard pay," Qin Fan said, speaking more than he usually would to a complete stranger. "Remember, if you get into a situation like this again, don't panic. The more you panic, the cockier they get. If you can call the police, call them. If you can't, pull a knife. If you don't have a knife, use your fists. There's always something they'll be afraid of. Don't be a coward. Whatever you do, don't be a coward!"
The exchange took Zhuge by surprise as well. He didn't know that Qin Fan was only acting this way because he saw a reflection of his past self in the young driver. Timid, afraid of trouble, quick to panic—only Qin Fan himself knew how much grievance he had suffered in his past life due to that spineless character, that frustration with his own weakness. Right now, he understood exactly how the driver felt.
Listening to Qin Fan's words, the designated driver stood there, stunned. His jaw was clenched tight. He didn't speak; he didn't know what to say.
"Don't just stand there. Take it, go home, and start living your life a new way. Remember, this world bullies the weak and fears the strong. It preys on the kind and fears the wicked," Qin Fan said earnestly, stuffing the money into the young man's hand.
Staring at this boss, who looked several years younger than him, and listening to his extreme advice, the designated driver's jaw tightened. After a moment, he took a deep breath while looking at Qin Fan's back. He pulled three bills from the wad of cash, stuffed them in his pocket, and held the rest out. "Boss, thank you. I'll start my new way of life with this three hundred. I'll only take what I'm owed. I'll take your words to heart. Thank you!"
With that, he pressed the remaining money back into Qin Fan's hand, took two steps back, and bowed deeply to the young man who looked years his junior. Then he turned and ran.
Watching the figure run off into the distance, Qin Fan chuckled softly, a smile of appreciation spreading across his face.
"Hey, Boss, your car is broken and your driver ran off. Where are you headed? Let us give you a ride!" Zhong Litong said, seemingly unfazed by Qin Fan's earlier dismissal. She batted her phoenix eyes at him with a playful smile.
