The Retired CEO's Guide To Being Spoiled-Chapter 301: Clearing the Air
Meanwhile, Julian Sterling was lounging in the hotel. He had slept soundly through the night and woke up feeling thoroughly refreshed, not overly exhausted. Logically speaking, after such intense physical exertion last night, he should have felt uncomfortable. But perhaps because this body had grown too accustomed to making love with Ethan Caldwell, a frequency like last night’s was nothing excessive, so his body felt completely normal.
Only his member stung a little, likely because it was the first time using a urethral sound yesterday.
The first thing Julian did after waking up was to text Ethan Caldwell to let him know. However, the sent message did not receive an immediate reply. Julian guessed that Ethan was probably meeting with Harrison Thornton and his daughter, so he did not bother Ethan further.
Thinking of the plan discussed with Louis York yesterday, Julian guessed that Ethan had probably made the post this morning. Thus, he opened his phone to check, and sure enough, the comment section below was bustling with lively activity.
Ethan Caldwell’s latest post had once again attracted a large number of couple fans. Just as Julian and Louis York had said, for people like him and Ethan, they only needed to scatter a little sugar, and fans would come running after them. It was simply because they were attractive, paired well together, and looked genuinely happy.
But naturally, there would also be those who found it displeasing to the eye.
The previous matter had not been completely resolved yet; even if they posted a video from inside the room, there were still people who refused to believe it. Part of it was because the public was being led by the nose, believing that Ethan Caldwell had actually hit Julian Sterling, while the other part simply could not stand seeing others happy.
Any overly offensive words commented under Ethan’s post would be entirely deleted, and those accounts might even be blocked. Therefore, those people changed their battlefield, flocking to the forums to create posts. Julian scrolled through for a moment; they were primarily focusing on the issue of Ethan being accused of domestic violence earlier.
Hah, did they have nothing else to attack, so they just kept biting onto that one matter without letting go? This group of people was doing a terrible job of guiding public opinion.
Julian Sterling logged into his social media account, liked the post where Ethan Caldwell had tagged him, and then created a new post of his own.
[I originally did not want to mention this matter, as it is fundamentally a private issue between Ethan and me. But as someone who has been a victim of cyberbullying, I do not want my husband to fall into a similar situation. Perhaps those who are targeting us will still stubbornly refuse to believe what I say, but that is perfectly fine. As long as I have a clear conscience, that is enough.
We are legally married partners, so occasionally there will be some unspeakable little bedroom games. I just do not know who on earth leaked these things and then spread fabricated rumors. We will investigate this matter thoroughly.]
In his caption, Julian did not elaborate much on explaining the previous video, but he did attach a video to the post. It was a screen-recorded video of a chat log.
The first part showed a photo Julian had taken of a red mark on his own cheek, sent to an account saved under the contact name "Hubby," accompanied by a message whining about how his cheek was completely red. The other side replied with an apology message along with a kissing GIF.
The second chat segment, from a few hours late, stated that he had something to do and was heading home first, instructing the other person to have the bodyguards bring his backpack back later.
The third message segment showed the other side sending a photo, capturing Ethan Caldwell’s face with a background that included several other people. The message below the photo was Ethan complaining about how noisy his friends were. Julian even replied, telling Ethan to stay there with his friends and that there was no need to come home tonight. The other side even replied with an "I miss you."
It was extremely clear; the post was clarifying that Ethan Caldwell had never hit Julian Sterling. Everything was simply a bit of intimate play between the married couple. Nor was there any truth to the rumor that Ethan had stayed out all night, abandoning Julian at home after an argument. It was purely Ethan going out to meet friends, and Julian was fully aware of this fact.
Naturally, they did not actually have such messages, they were fakes that had been technically doctored. However, Julian was confident in his people’s abilities, so he was not worried about the forgery being recognized. It was just faking the dates and times a little bit; there was no problem at all.
Yet, not long after Julian made the post, a verified account left a comment, it was Patrick Lane.
Patrick Lane: [You clearly told him to stay and hang out with us, yet he sneaked back home halfway through! He even provoked us single dogs!]
His comment came with an attached photo, which was a screenshot of a group chat. Above, the accounts of Patrick Lane, Simon, and others were continuously tagging Ethan Caldwell, asking where he had gone. A while later, Ethan finally replied, "Went home to my wife", accompanied by a photo.
Julian was sitting on a beanbag chair, an easel placed in front of him. He had not noticed someone appearing in the house, his attention solely focused on the canvas before him. Due to the camera angle, it was impossible to clearly see what Julian was drawing, but one could see his soft wrist holding a pencil, sketching on the paper. In the taken photo, he was wearing a silk pajama shirt, the top button unfastened, the wide collar slightly slipping down to reveal his collarbone.
It was a real photo from that very night.
Julian had no idea when Ethan had taken it.
Beneath Julian’s original post, quite a few couple fans flooded in to spam the comments. They were mostly things like "So cute", "Dating looks so fun", "Handing out sugar", and so on. But once Patrick Lane commented, the wind shifted in the replies below, with people screaming and calling Julian their wife.
Julian curled his lips into a smile.
What a pity. I am already someone else’s wife, I cannot be your wife anymore.
