The Reaper's Wicked Obsession-Chapter 148: The Taste Of Your Own Poison
Chapter 148: The Taste Of Your Own Poison
"They’re gaining too much information on us," Nyssa said worriedly. "We have to stop them."
"Taking on the Five Courts now is too much work, we’re not ready." Logi voiced the truth they all knew, they may have the manpower to do the needful but it was too careless.
’Kraven knows this too,’ he thought with certainty and then it hit him harder than ever forcing a smile on his lips.
Logi turned his head to Kraven. "But you do know this, Kraven, and that isn’t why you called this meeting, yes? You’re not going after the Court yet."
"I’m going after the Serpents," Kraven declared.
"Purely because they are puppets of the Five Court or..." Logi trailed as his eyes descended on Isadora who was mentally not present at the moment.
Logi chuckled knowingly as he turned away.
"Why else would you go after the Serpents if not to weaken the Five Court’s reach?" Rav asked, confused.
"Ekko, do the honors, I’m sure you know..." Logi pointed out.
Ekko folded his arms and said. "The Serpents made a deal with Thornfoot the dirtbag, in return he sold Lady Raven to the pirates."
Isadora snapped out of her reverie, the news stunning her and her mouth moved before she could stop herself. "W-Why would the Serpents make a deal with him?"
"Because Aric is a coward, he honestly thought the pirates would get the bounty for him. And when the pirates got my head he would come to claim it for any price. Pirates love their golds." Kraven replied. "Selling you was just a bonus for them."
’Are we honestly going after the Serpents because of that filth?’ Nyssa thought as her fist clenched.
No was saying it outloud but they all knew the major reason Kraven was about to do this. It almost as if the Five Courts was a later nuisance.
Shouldn’t that be their priority?
"She’s making Kraven not focus on what we’re supposed to do," Nyssa whispered to Rav who surprisingly shared her same view judging from his expression.
Rav stiffented at her words. "That can’t be true." ƒгeewёbnovel.com
"Isn’t it obvious Rav? I must find a way to cure you from your slow-witted nature," Logi mused.
Rav teeth grinded together, before opening his mouth to throw words at him.
"Why are you doing this?" Isadora whispered. "I know you’re not just going after the Serpents because you hate them."
"I do hate them, love... It’s killing two birds with one stone." He leaned closer. "They sold something they shouldn’t have, they’ve to pay."
Even though he sounded amused, there was a dark edge to his tone that made Isadora’s heart flip. It shouldn’t have, and something like this shouldn’t have affected her—but it did.
The thought of Kraven hunting down those responsible for selling her to the pirates sent a warm rush through her chest.
No one had ever done something like this for her before.
"I-Is this your way of gaining my trust?"
"Maybe."
"Then enjoy disappointment then, I still don’t trust you, Kraven," she said sternly but internally she was already melting at the gesture. "Your effort is futile."
Kraven chuckled deeply and said. "There’s a reason I accepted this challenge knowing how difficult it would be." His fingers inch closer to her core. "I love how stubborn you are because it gives me a reason to punish you."
Isadora gasped at his bold action, her eyes veering to the company but they were all too engrossed in a heated conversation about Kraven’s decisions.
Rav, Nyssa, and Logi throwing words at each other completely forgetting what this meeting was about.
They may be divided but what if they finished arguing and found her in a compromising position?
Isadora leaned forward, attempting to create some distance from this impossible Fae who had no shame. But his possessive grip was hard to escape.
"Trying to hop away, little bunny?"
Isadora turned to him for the first time since she sat on his lap. "Y-You should focus on the meeting."
"I am."
Isadora knew he wouldn’t back down on this, he’d use this distraction to do anything he wanted. He always got what he wanted. He was always unfair.
Something in her snapped, the sudden need to use his own game against him, to be unfair.
It’s her turn to take from him!
Isadora shifted, adjusting her position as if trying to get comfortable, but her goal was to send a deliberate friction against him. It caused the heat to invade her body where they were indirectly connected.
Kraven responded, his fingers tightening against her waist, nails biting into her leather corset to still her movements.
Isadora feigned innocence. "Am I making you uncomfortable?"
Getting nothing but a dangerous glint in his eyes as a response, Isadora got bolder, loving the tormented look in his beautiful orbs.
It made her feel powerful in some way, knowing she could drive out such intensity from him with just a simple gesture.
She shifted again, slower this time, her warmth pressing against him, her lips parted when she felt his hard bulge squeezing against her ass.
A low growl vibrated from Kraven’s chest as his hands were placed on the stone armrest as a means of control.
The heat from it was too much to ignore and the sensation of her soft flesh rubbing against him was on the verge of splitting his head into two.
He hadn’t teased her like this, he hadn’t gone far and still maintained some control but here she was... going wild on him like a fucking nemesis.
Kraven teeth ground together, his patience snapped, his hands lashed out and held her waist still.
Isadora’s breaths shuddered, the heat spreading to her cheeks, from the dazed look in her eyes, she had almost reached her pinnacle.
’Seven gods!’ he thought as his anger rose to the surface.
They would’ve seen her, seen what was only meant for him, seen her shatter for him.
Kraven forcefully yanked her to rest more against him as he voiced words dripped with venom. "You’re playing a dangerous game, darling. I should take you right here, make them all watch as you fall apart on my lap, is that what you want?"
