Chapter 322: The New turn - II

<Melenmore>

Talia came Into the room with a sullen looking face. I understood why.

"It’s time." I smiled Before getting up and dusting my dress.

Today was the day I was finally going to bring change in my country. The change would have to begin at home and in The very royal family itself.

"Princess," Talia gulped, "what if.."

Of course, she would be thinking about the same. The thought had come to my mind so many times in the past nights that sleep had almost been a distant friend who never came to visit.

But I had to soothe the nerves of my friend who was going to help me in almost all of it.

"Then, Talia, we will be declared fugitives and if we do not get out on time, would be charged for treason and executed before the sun rises tomorrow morning." I smiled sadly, " It is something I am praying against to happen."

Everything depended on tonight. My sisters, my future and future of the kingdom, all depended on tonight.

The guards held the doors to my apartment open as I walked out and towards the direction of the great dining hall. Today, my father had called on every minister for a Royal dinner which had presented me with the perfect opportunity that I had been looking for quite a long time.

The Royal chef knew what she was supposed to do for tonight. He had been a very loud supporter of my mother to have the Crown on her head rather than a half blooded or a distant cousin of the crown. She was also a supporter of me.

Only until the Desert would the company of the women remain. After that, when the drinks would be brought in, mistresses and whores would be the company of the men.

How unfortunate that the women had not been informed of this Change. They’ve never going to come out as the deserts would be over. In fact, the deserts were never going to be eaten completely. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Loud laughs, belly roars And praises for the kingdom did nothing but whore around and play.

I’ll just be in the court books of my father. How important was it for a minister to be intelligent to remain in power within the court? The answer was he did not need to have any. None of his intelligence was needed. What was needed was his wit to remain in the favour of talking.

That was exactly the reason why the ministers were closing up to my father and my stepbrother While their wife’s and daughters were complimenting the Queen.

The same, was being repeated again and again. The Queen was the centre of attention on one side and The king on the other. Right next to him was the heir to the throne Augustus.

All of them happy, laughing at the demise of those living outside the palace walls, begging on the streets and barely making their ends meet.

It was obvious by the looks of it that my father was no longer concerned for the kingdom even after it was public knowledge the wedding had not go through and we did not have the support of the kingdom of Astria.

In the words of the men of the court, we were fucked.

Another course was laid out in front of me and I half heartedly ate through it. The kitchens knew what to do. More like his wife did, who had been constantly put down by her husband who had taken up the position of to Royal chef from her.

It would be a complete surprise to man what his other half could do in anger.

Soon it was time for the desert. Luxurious cheesecake that no one in my kingdom had even seen served in front of people who did not care enough for them.

My eyes remained on their main setting closest to my father, opposite to where August sat. The second most powerful man in the kingdom. He was rumoured to be the brother of the Queen but I knew better. He was the one who was fucking her as well.

It had all been a ploy.

Because I was the one who had not been drinking all night and the one who had not touched the sweet cheesecake, I could observe how sluggish their movements had started to get.

The drinks were poisoned and so was the last mail of the dinner. If that poison entertainer did not work, then the poison that they had been drinking all night would kill them in a matter of a few minutes.

I stood up, not bothering to wait for the footmen to pull my chair for me. It screeched making everyone stop momentarily.

The attention was what I wanted. The last of what they could give me.

Sir Astros, The man who had replaced Sir Reginald Walter, the secretary of my mother, was the man I stood behind.

"Princess.." he whispered, slurring in his words and sluggish in his movements as he tried to get up but failed.

"You have betrayed the crown for your own selfish interests." My voice was loud and clear. "Your services are no longer needed."

My hand reached over to the broch that he wore on his chest. Taking it out, more like pulling it out of his robe, I threw it on the table in front of him.

Right before his head landed on the plate. He was dead.

Slowly and steadily, almost everyone started to fall into a deep sleep with blood coming out of their noses. A sleep that none of them were going to wake from. A sleep that was going to extend over their houses and to their children so that I never had a threat of anyone coming after me.

My father was the last one along with his queen and both of them were looking at me. They were fighting the death coming for them.

I stepped closer to him. "You failed my mother, you failed the kingdom and you failed your daughter."

Tears were building up in my eyes but I continued, "I am not a good person, father. But I would have been a great daughter and a crown princess to the throne had I been given a chance." I held his hands of play in my hands, and gently lowered it on the table but not before sliding plays away. His eyes were fighting sleep I had given him.

"Forgive me, father," I pleaded as cheese felt my cheeks. "but I have to snatch it for the sake of my sisters and kingdom." And me.
