The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 216: The kings - II
~continued~
If the king of the wolf was not clear before everyone understood the gravity of the situation better than ever.
"I do not understand how anyone can have access to poisons regarding us." Arnold shook his head slightly at the sight of the beaten and battered wolf.
"It cannot be one of us," Tristan muttered, "because it was then someone must have complained in the fear of their own lies. Since it has not been reported I am sure that it is not one of us creatures that has done it."
Everyone fell silent as the realisation came to mind and the king of the wolves did not stand down and said it out loud, "so it is the endearing humans then."
Allan scoffed. "How can it be them? They were never aware of our presence which means that they must not be aware of how to kill us. If anything, they are still thinking that we are descended upon them."
Everyone chuckled at that before scream was heard by all of them making them wince. "What sound is that and who is it coming from?" Darius growled lightly. His highlighted hearing was sensitive to such sounds unless they came from pleasure.
"I do know know why but I know that is my aunt inflicting torture on someone." Tristan grimaced as he said so, "she keeps on torturing the members of the previous royal family before entering upon the queen. She is in solitary confinement. She is alone from everyone else."
Darius laughed sarcastically as they all started to move out of the lowest levels of the dungeon. "I think that would do her good but I would also make sure to bring her near so that she can hear the screams of her family members."
"I shall pass the message on to my aunt." Tristan replied in a rather dry voice.
"What is wrong?" Darius could not help but fall in step with his best friend as he teased, "is it difficult for you to work because of the hardened . . .organ?"
The king of the vampires stopped.
The second in command of both the kings choked on the laughter as they stopped it.
Tristan’s face changed as his expressions hardened as his jaw clenched and his teeth ground. "What did you say?" He hissed out word by word.
"Well you must know," Darius shrugged, "I could see how difficult it was to control yourself when Genevieve sat in your lap. Is that not the reason why you were sniffing her neck?"
Tristan emitted a noise from his throat as he tried to control himself from strangling his friend who with an innocent smile on his face started to walk up stairs as if nothing had happened.
"I will fucking kill you,"
Darius threw his head back as he laughed, "Do you remember the first time you said that to me? Even I don’t."
The next time disturbed were in front of a cell just a floor above from where they previously were. That caught Chiara’s attention and she stopped playing with the poker and the human. "What is it I can help you with?"
Darius smiled with dark intent. "Are you going to enjoy all on your own with that human?" He pointed to the man who was barely clothed and all bloody.
Chiara chuckled. "Do you know who this man is?"
"No," Tristan answered even though he knew but that did it just to save time.
"He," Chiara poked him on his stomach with the poker, "is the commander general who is very dear to our beloved killer queen."
"A lover?" Darius’s eye twinkled at the scandalous gossip.
*Sadly no," replied the woman, "he is her brother." She answered and corrected him before moving back to the man laying down beside her. "This is the one that had placed the idea inside the king’s head to kill my sister."
"Ahh," Darius looked at the commander general in pity before his eyes moved to Tristan, "are you not going to have your fun brother?"
Tristan shook his head. "I already am. We never let him die. Whenever he is close to dying I make sure that is brought back to life again only to beg for it."
Darius chuckled. "And the fallen queen?"
Chiara cackled at that. "Don’t you worry about that. I have a plan for her."
"Excuse us aunt, continue your fun." Tristan excused his presence along with his friend before moving out of the dungeons completely.
"You should rest now," he told them here as they walked upstairs, "we all have an early day tomorrow."
"About that," Darius raised a finger, " what do you think about the poison?"
"Which opinion of mine do you need an answer on?"
"The one where it could be one of us first," Darius answered.
Tristan huffed. "I do not believe much in this speculation because no one would harbour poison that can kill any of us within a few moments. However, I cannot deny the possibility." 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"I want to say it for the second speculation," Darius murmured carefully but Tristan denied.
"There is no way that the humans could know about anything of killing us. We have never let any information about."
Darius replies sharply at the lack of consideration about the possibility. " What makes you think that one of us is not selling as out? We might know submission but we do not know total loyalty."
"And what is it a vampire or a wolf would sell it for?" Tristan asked with a scoff. "You can consider something possibly important of human could provide to a creature of the dar—"
"Say it," Darius glanced at his friend. "Say what came to your mind Tristan."
"Unless they are receiving something. . . Or someone else is." Tristan shook his head in mockery of the situation. "Think about it, who is it as one of us that could benefit even remotely from the humans?"
Darius rubbed his chin. The reality of the answer was grave because many of them could.
