Chapter 210: The dinner with the king’s - I

Tristan had walked me to my room after that. We were followed by Solomon and Bert. He did seem in a hurry because he had another King to host but still appeared to be patient aisi escorted me back to my room where the three ladies waited for me.

Dorothy, Laila and Anna were getting me ready for the Feast tonight. It was already late evening and dinner was going to be held soon.

Every material laid out in front of me seemed the usual that a princess would be dawned in for a feast. Countless new dresses were laid out in front of me. Most of them were used since I have not used any one of them after my marriage with Prince Terrence but those were at the very end of the dressing room. The ones laid out in front of me were all new.

And they were all red.

"I find this one would be good," Layla pick the dress and held in front of me. I look that the mirror. She had picked up a deep red dress with golden embroidery in the middle.

"I think so too," Anna commented as she came to stand next to me, "would you like wearing this, your grace, or should we select something?"

I stared at the dress. There was nothing wrong with it and the colour looked good against my skin.

This made me remember of the time when Tristan had said that the colour red would look good on me when we were in the Trader’s market to the capital for Lethoris.

"Alright," I nodded, "this is the one."

The next thing I knew was I was already in the dress with my shoes in front of me and dorothy was making my hair for tonight. She has left them down while calling them slightly at the end.

It looked beautiful. I looked beautiful.

The doors opened once again and and are entered with her back first while carrying something in her hands. "Only this is left." She pointed to what she held in her hand and placed it in front of me at the dressing table. "Here, Her highness Lady Chiara sent it."

I gaped at what she had sent. "I cannot wear this!"

Anna looked taken a back. "But I was told that you said yes."

"I did," but what was that supposed to do with the Tiara in front of me?

Anna looked at the Crown of rubies and gold. "Then lady Chiara was right in passing over the Crown. You must wear it to dinner tonight. It with symbolise your willingness for the mateship and not only that but it would also reflect as something positive in the eyes of everyone."

My eyes slowly moved to the crown. It was decorated with most prominent colours as Ruby diamond and gold. The biggest diamond stood in front and in centre. It was surrounded by many rupees smaller in size scattered around and the connecting wires were made of pure gold.

It was not my first time to see a Crown. I had possessed many in my life and by simply looking at it I could tell that it was made for me. It was exactly to size of what would fit on my head.

They had it made for me.

"If I wear this everyone will acknowledge as someone being courted by Tristan."

"Everyone has already been acknowledging you as that," Anna countered wtih sharp eyes, expressing it to everyone that she was not lying, " everyone treats you as the Queen of the palace. We are just happy that you have accepted it."

Accepted it? I was barely giving it a try.

Anna sighed and kneeled down. "I understand that it is very forward but if it was not for the feast no one would have ever given you the ground until you were ready for it. You can still the night however everyone will really appreciate if you go ahead and wear it."

I looked at Crown. It was so beautiful but it also came with the responsibility which I was not as very as the wanted me to be for.

Anna’s hand reached the ornament and placed it on my head without my permission. She then angled my head towards the mirror making me see my reflection in it. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Eye looks like a princess. I looked like how I was before.

"You look Pretty,"

Marilyn’s voice made me turn around. She was dressed in a similar dress but the difference was noticable. I was wearing the one much more Grand in appearance to what she was wearing yet she looked very beautiful.

"You look Pretty," I repeated with an emphasis on the word you, "I don’t think I’ve seen you like this before." There was something about her. Something that I could feel was never there before even though I have been with Marylin all my life. She seemed happy and if it was a different kind of happiness.

She smiled and came closer to him as the other three stepped back. Marilyn placed her chin on my shoulder as we look that each other in the mirror like we had done thousand times before. "It suits you."

She was talking about the Crown.

"I know," I winked making her laugh. It eased my nerves.

Marilyn removed her chin from my shoulder and helped me stand up along with Dorothy, "Are you ready to go?"

I nodded passing her a weary smile that she caught.

"It will be fine," she consoled me, "no one was expecting you to say anything because all of us know that you are not a part of us right now. And as for the traditions, just follow what you see every woman in the room doing. The rest will be guided to you by me and King Tristan."

I did not like that. If anything I liked to be prepared before hand. "Marilyn, can you not tell me something more? I need to know more so that I do not embarrass myself in front of people."

I saw her glancing at Anna for a quick moment. Were they hiding something from me?
