Chapter 207: The wolves- II

Who was Darius? "Is he acting like Tristan is?" Who was the first thought that came to my mind and I let it out to chiara. She was the only one that could confirm or deny my speculations.

She nodded and once again mirth danced in Those eyes. "Not exactly how to distance but like the creature you saw."

I shook my head.

She smiled widely. "The wolf, werewolves. He is the king of the shapeshifting kind."

"S-Shapeshifting?" There were more. " Wolf? I whispered as she nodded.

I had suspected Darius to be similar to Tristan but he was completely different.

Chiara smiled at the pointed look given to her by her mate. "I am not a liar, Genevieve. I don’t believe in withholding any information from you that could cause you harm which is why I am telling you everything as it is." She glanced at Dawson. "There is only so long one can protect you because of your lack of knowledge. I don’t think that should be considered continuing anymore."

"Now?" Dawson waved his hand around.

Chiara merely shrugged as she watched me. " She had her doubts. Only the answer was something that was beyond her imagination."

Beyond that, yes, that was the perfect word.

So there were vampires and werewolves. That meant but whatever the prince was talking about was true. Their wolves and there were creatures of the night.

"I think I will rest now." I nodded to them as farewell and turned around. A night before this time I climbed each and every stair carefully realising how tired I had grown from running around previously. Not only that but I was thankful to have this time now one had

stopped me.

The thought of Darius had completely slipped out of my mind but I was aware that he was the king of the north. Werewolves were something I had never imagined. I have simply assumed that he was just like Tristan or perhaps a human that was in alliance with Tristan’s family.

He was something else.

I turned around to the corridor where my room was. My mind still wondered into the direction of how it was possible for two creatures— of course.

I figured it out.

Now it seemed obvious how they had conquered a Kingdom like Astria.

Just as I closed the door to my room and walked to where my bed was, the doors opened again and Marilyn ran in.

"Oh my lord! Are you alright princes? I just heard about the wolf!" Her panicked and concerned I took in my figure to find any bleeding spot.

"I am not hurt." I answered to ease her concerns and held her hands in mine, patting them slowly. "It was quite a loud commotion. How come you did not hear it?" I was curious to know that. I had heard and I knew by experience that they could hear much more than necessary.

She looked sheepish. "I almost had everything happening in the capital but then you learn to tune it out and focus on what you want to hear." She explained and I nodded.

Merlin smiled pitifully before taking me back to the bed. Once seated down, she started to look at my neck. "It is not infected. His blood worked. You should be thankful."

"I would be if I was not bitten by him in the first place." I reminded her. "If he had not bitten me I would not be in this situation of my neck being infected."

She shook her head with a pointed look, " if you had not betrayed him then this situation would have arrived."

"I did not betray him!" I shrieked in a sudden burst of anger. "Why should I be expected to be loyal to him!"

"You are his beloved. Its meant to be." She answered just as always, making me look away. "You should not behave like that," she chastised. "People are much worse than Allen and Tristan. They have still respected most of your wishes unlike many. We have beloveds that control and respect us."

"Why was there a wolf in the hallway?" I asked her instead.

She sighed. It was clear to hear that there had been a change in topic yet she ignored it and carried on. "We do not know. I think they would tell us once they know what happened."

"Who?"

"Allan, Tristan, Vaughn and Uncle Dawson." She answered. " The wolf was previously a soldier here. He was supervising the training."

Samay speculation has been true. "Darius and Tristan have some sort of alliance, don’t they?"

She nodded ready to answer me but then quieted down and stared at me. "Someone must have told you about the link of the wolf and to king Darius."

"Chiara."

Merylin scoffed.

I remembered something more. "She also said that they would see what to do with the wolf after talking to Darius. Why?"

Merylin pursued her lips forward as she appeared to be thinking about it. Ultimately she ended up shaking her head. "I do not know. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that he is the king of that particular kind. Just like you cannot execute a citizen of another country."

"Perhaps," I whispered. "Does that mean that they are going to send for Darius or is he going to come here?"

"That I do not really know." She answered as she traced the designs on my skirt. "However, if he arrives there will be a feast thrown so you will know and meet him there."

Darius might be coming to defend The wolf from his Kingdom but why was it such a big deal because traitors could be executed anytime whether or not they were citizens of another country.

"Who was that wolf? Because there should not be so much effort made." I do not think that he was just supervising.

She sighed and her shoulders moved. "I am not the right person for this. I’m not interested in politics. If you still want to know more you can always ask King Tristan directly."

My lips thinned.
