Chapter 204: The breakfast - I

I wondered if Chiara was serious about what she had told me or not. She seemed to be firm said on what she had told me and it only made me fear what the outcome might turn out to be.

What was it that a beloved did? How did these guys behave with them? I did not know anything.

But if I considered the only woman that was in front of me, Merilyn seemed to be happy and content with her life. She did not seem like she was unhappy with anything and she always had a smile on her face.

Dorothy combed to my hair but I could see the questions roaming around in her mind as she did so. Unfortunately for her I did not have any piece of mind to answer them. My own questions were unanswered and my fears were piling up.

I jumped when I heard the knock on the door. I watched from the mirror as an unexpecting Laila opened the door. "Merylin," she said and stepped away from the door allowing her to enter. "Please come in, The Princess is just getting ready."

Merylin enter and my eyes met her in the mirror. She was looking for me the moment she entered the room. "You two should leave," she addressed dorothy and Laila, "The Princess and I have to talk about something important."

Laila and dorothy left their tasks at once and their as Marilyn told them to. Even the way I could see the visible disappointment on their faces I did not stop either one of them.

Merylin watch them leave and waited after the door was closed. She must be listening in if they were listening to the door or not. Ladies in waiting often did that.

"What is it?" I softly murmured as she walked closer to me and picked up the discarded brush by Dorothy.

"I tried to reason with aunt, but she is not bulging. You have to come down for breakfast." Her eyes remained on what she was doing, combing my hair. "However I can tell her that you are in pain. After all, yesterday was frightening day for you."

I could feel my eyes swelling up with tears as I heard her. Marilyn did not have any expressions on her face which meant that she did not have any certain opinions on the matter.

She already had her new family yet she was trying to make excuses for me.

"You would do that?" I asked her. "You would like to your family for me?"

She closed her eyes and chuckled. Shaking her head she replied, "why must you saying that they are my only family? I have always considered you to be my sister and my friend princess, and I can never think otherwise."

How could it be possible that someone has changed completely at remained the same from the inside? Was it true then? Is how it was with Marilyn, was it going to be the same with Tristan?

"Do you think I should go?" I asked Marilyn. I asked her because I knew she would never lie this is dangerous.

She shrugged as a gesture. "I do not know which is why I came and presented you with the options you have. However if you decide to go then believe me there would be no attacks on you." Her eyes went to my neck from the mirror, "at least not anymore." She muttered under her breath but I could hear it clearly due to our proximity.

"Who is going to be there?"

"Uncle Dawson, Aunt Chiara, Lara and her mate Vaughn." She answered, "Vaugh and Lara might not be there. Their newly beloveds which means they would be spending time with them each other more."

That didn’t make sense, "But I have seen Vaughn so many times. Most of the times Lara is not good him." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

"That is because he cannot neglect his duties," she tied my hair together, "the king can excuse his presence at times and newly beloved couples off still have some time off from there duties but since Vaughn is at a higher position in the court he has to appear."

"Ah," I nodded, understanding her. I blinked calmly before speaking, "I think we should go to breakfast. There is only so long that I can hide for. I will have to come out one day, Marilyn."

She smiled slightly. " I knew You were Brave." She said in a proud voice and a smiliar expression. "Let’s go."

This time I did not find Solomon and Bert with me. However that was the least of my concerns because I was yet to face and angry aunt at breakfast.

The doors were opened by guards and we entered to find almost everyone sitting there.

"Genevieve," Chaira address me with a smile on her face as if nothing had happened out of the ordinary yesterday, "please sit. We are all ready to have breakfast." She pointed her hand to a particular place was quickly telling me where she wanted me to sit.

That was beside Tristan. The chair that I had occupied during our previous meals.

Without a word of protest I moved to sit where I was told to. I did not find anything to Rebel against when she was being civil and nice.

She clapped twice and a line of servents entered with tryas in the hands that were filled with food.

Those days were being kept in front of fast one by one and I glanced at Tristan from the corner of my eyes discreetly. He has still not look at me and I did not know how I felt about that.

"Now this might seem uncomfortable at first." Chiara’s voice directed me to look at her, "but you might as well start getting used to it now."

"To what?" I asked as I looked and felt highly suspicious of the big smile on her face.

"This." She pointed to the food in front of her and my eyes almost bulge out of my skull.
