The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 155: A beloved? - I
I felt something on my forehead. I shook my head to get it off of me.
It tickled.
I shook my head again. It didn’t budge!
"Wake up, my love."
My eyes opened that very instant.
I blinked them to get the blurriness out. Where was I? This was not where I was staying.
I sat up on the bed and the covers fell off.
My eyes met his.
I did not know he was sitting there.
I raked my eyes over his clothes somehow expecting the blood to be on them. I remember what happened last night. He had definitely changed his clothes because even though they were dark in colour I could not see the blood.
"Wh-you . ." I stared at him as I fumbled for words. "you . ."
"Are a creature of the dark?" He added with a slight tilt of head.
I shook my head. "That’s not what I wanted to say but yes." That was a bitter truth as well.
Since she had set it himself it only meant that whatever I knew was too true.
I was scared. I was so scared that I took my eyes off his face, for the first time avoiding eye contact.
"You cannot even look at me?" He said and I scoffed.
"I remember very well what happened, Tristan. Do not expect me to act normally." I told him in a shaky voice. I did not know how to expect him to react. Would he lash out and hurt me as well? I could not help but think of my heart being pierced out of my chest by his hands.
"Genevieve," I glanced at Tristan who had called for my attention, "I can hear your heartbeat. You stink of fear. There is no need for you to fear me."
I looked at him and revealed my uncertainty to him. "After what happened last night you cannot expect me to see that. Being in one room with you . . . It scares me Tristan."
He continued to stare at me and it only made me wonder if he was prepared for this. Was expecting me to be scared of him when I knew the truth? "How long were you going to hide it?" I asked and he raised an eyebrow.
"Forever, I suppose," he shifted slightly, "I just wanted it to be hidden from you for as long as it could be."
I gulped and looked away. I could no longer say that he was honest because he had completely hidden His true identity from me.
"I want to go now." I told him as he watched me. "I wish to leave the north."
"You have left the north." He informed me ans I frowned.
"What? When?" What in the world was he talking about?
He stood up from the chair and walked to where the curtains were. Pulling them aside he stared outside the window as bright light seeped into the room.
Now that he had stood up and I was no longer staring at him I looked around the room quickly. This was not the room that I had previously been staying in for sure.
My eyes went back to him. He was still staring out of the window.
I did not dare move. I did not want to go close to him. Lord knew what he could do to me.
"Come here,"
My eyes widened. Me? "Uh. . "
"Now," he said, "do not make me come there."
What’s the worst that could happen? I took the covers off me and slipped into the shoes that were placed on the bedside. I did reach him but stopped two steps away from him.
"Yes?" I whispered.
"I was never going to tell you this until unless needed but since you know now I am not going to hide anything." I stared at his back not knowing what to expect but he continued.
"I suck the blood out of people to live." He revealed and I stilled.
"To kill them or not is entirely my choice. But I have to suck the blood out of them to survive on my own. I am what everyone calls a Vampire or like you call a creature of the night." He sighed and glanced at me before continuing, "Another important information you should be aware of is that, I have a beloved and that is you."
I stumbled back at the information. The information that particularly revolved around me. "M-me?" I repeated but then remembered something important to ask. "What is a beloved?"
I saw his body Move. It was as if he scoffed at my question or chuckled at it. "What is a beloved Genevieve?" He turned around and faced me with those red eyes meeting mine. "Beloved is a loved person and beloved is meant for one. You are my beloved and you’re going to be the one that I love for the rest of my life which is forever."
He stepped closer to me and in my space and I did not move. My legs were fixed as his eyes held my present. It seemed like I had forgotten to walk.
"Forever because I am not going to die." His finger went below my chin and tilted it slightly up, "it’s going to be a very long time for you one night together. Almost eternity."
"I don’t want that. ." The words slipped out of my mouth before I even realised it but since they were true I did not hold back from repeating them. "I do not want to spend eternity with someone like you."
Like you, like someone who was killing the other person to live himself. If that was what survival meant for him then he should not survive. He should die.
He smiled, an empty one that was. He was amused or not, I did not know.
"Does it matter, my love?" He stepped forward and I wanted to walk away. Why could I not move?!
"It does." I whispered back to him.
He shook his head slowly, "it is not because I give you plenty of chances to walk away. You were the one that came back to me," he grinned, "each and every time."
He leaned in and spoke into my ear making me close my eyes, "Now, you do not get the luxury to leave."
