Chapter 151: A creature of the night - II

I watched as Trsitan slowly turned around to glance at me and I dreaded it.

I could not bear to look at his face. He looked at me, straight into my eyes, before turning to the prince again, "what about it?"

I said my cheeks were red immediately. Did he just ignore the fact that I was standing here and I had witnessed everything that he had just done?

Lysar scoffed, "after your display of brutality, like a beast, what makes you think that she is ever going to reciprocate any of those affections?"

Tristan nearly tilted his head at that. "Does she have any other option? She has no other choice other than to accept and reciprocate my feelings." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

Who was this man? As every moment passed by I found it hard to believe that this was Tristan.

Lysar narrowed his eyes, "are you forcing her to reciprocate your feelings? Go ahead and show her your barbaric nature."

"How ironic. Was it not you who had sneaked into her room in the middle of the night and forced a case out of her before knocking her unconscious? Is that not Barbarism?"

I would have laughed if this was not a situation that was truly horrifying and utterly serious.

Lysar did not respond to him. I saw as he turned to me and started walking closer. Tristan’s eyes followed him but he did not look at me.

"Do you know what just happened Genevieve," He lazily drawled out as if the prince did not fear dying himself and turned to stand next to me with his arms folded on his chest. "Hm?" He looked at me again when I did not answer him.

I was simply dumbfounded at whatever had happened and I had no answer to any of these questions. I just stared back at him with wide eyes.

Teeth and his lips and nodded as if understanding what happened to me. He turned back to Tristan and pointed his finger at him.

"That is what a creature of night does." He said and my head snapped to him, " a creature of night is perfectly capable of killing an army of men without having any help from his comrades. That man is an animal."

I was so uncertain about this. I was uncertain because I did not want to believe that it could be Tristan that could b A creature of the night. A creature of the night was someone who is deadly and dangerous and I did not want the man I love to be that.

"No he’s not," I whispered to the prince first and then turned to Tristan, "No you are not. Tell him Tristan!"

Tristan moved his eyes from the prince and met mine. "It’s true."

"What?" I blinked at his reply, "what?" I repeated. His reply was immediate. I must have had it wrong.

"It is true, Genevieve," he said and I refused to believe it, "I am a creature of the night. I belong to the darkness."

"Darkness?" I repeated in a broken whisper, "but I am a . . creature of . . . .light. I am a follower of God!"

"Made for me." He said and stepped closer.

"No!" I shook my head and stepped back. "No! Not for you! Not for your. . "

"Your," Darius repeated, ". . Kind?" He completed my sentence and one could say he was not happy but he was not showing it.

I gulped and moved my eyes away from his. Tristan has stopped at a distance. He was staring right at me.

"He is a murderer by nature Genevieve," the prince whispered in my ear and I could see that Tristen was not happy about it, "He lives by feeding on people’s blood."

My live dangerously tremble at his words. I look that Justin to see no change in his expressions. He was not going to deny any of this. And that is when I remember . .

I gasped.

I had seen someone suck the blood out of a maid. I had told him about it and he had told me about that person.

"A . . Cannibal?" I reminisced. "You told me that that man was a cannibal but you are one too!" He lied to my face.

"I am." Tristan said, "I won’t deny it." He shook his head.

"Deny? Do you really think that you are going to have an opportunity to deny after I saw all of this?" I waved my arms madly at the scene that was in front of me. With all the blood that was on the snow and the dead bodies of around thirty soldiers he really expected me to think that he could deny it?

"I don’t think the princess would like to stay here any longer. We shall take our leave." I heard The Prince but Tristan’s eyes held mine captive. I just want to look away. Was I still waiting for him to deny any of this?

"You are not going anywhere. I would say you are a fool to think so." I heard Darius say but I did not look away. I did not know why I was staring at him. Perhaps I was waiting for him to tell me that it was all a joke.

"Pardon?"

"You are not going anywhere." Darius repeated with evident frustration in his voice, "No one leaves the north after they have entered, especially without my permission. You, my dear prince, are staying here and rotting for the rest of your life."

I heard the prince move, "Wh—"

"Arnold."

I heard someone moving closer to me and before long The Prince was on the snow, unconscious.

Arnold was not kind enough to put the prince on his back. He really picked up the foot of the prince and started to drag him back to the palace. Darius left as well and it only left Tristan and me.

"Are you going to drag me as well?" I muttered, now staring at him without any emotion.

"Sleep." He just said and I found myself closing my eyes and slipping into darkness.
