Chapter 147: A new pawn - I

Feeling had left on his own was a delicacy that he never thought he would experience within the year. But when he felt her lips on his he would not breathe. Especially the second time he could not even believe it. He stayed still. Absolutely still. He did not move an inch.

She kissed him. She stepped forward.

As if watching the woman take control of the situation and order them to be killed was not enough she had to kiss and initiate it as well.

"Who knew that a kiss was enough to bring a vampire to his knees?"

Tristan blinked and stood up straight again. He turned to Darius with a visible snarl on his face. Of course it had to be him to ruin the moment. He wanted to fucking tear his head off.

"What?" Darius gave him a teasing look, "so whenever Genevieve is not around you are going to his and snarl at us?"

A man descended the stairs and added his own words with a laugh, "Of course. He is going to be a grumpy Vampire when his mate is not around."

"Allan," Tristan gave him an irritated glance, "Stop."

Without waiting for any one of them to continue he moved to the prison cell where the guards waited.

"Have they eaten well?" Tristan asked the guard who nodded.

To provide evidence to his claim he actually opened the mouth of the abuser to show his blood stained yet empty mouth.

It has been fun to watch Genevieve play with them. It seems like she was a natural. It came to a shock when he observed that she had actually been the one who was against violence contrary to her elder sister but she was quite good at it.

He was fucking proud of her.

Tristan grinned, his fangs had come out to play and the abuser widened his eyes at the sight.

"I’ll be honest, " Darius said for everyone to hear, "never expected a born and raised delicate princess to actually take such drastic steps. She would actually be a good queen and stand against injustice."

He went closer to a man and glanced at the area in between his legs. It was bleeding heavily and he smirked at the sight. "Paining, doesn’t it?" He winced.

Tristan glanced at the guards who understood what they had to do. Within a flash of movement everyone reached into the strategy room. Tristan, Darius and Allen were there together.

"We have less than a week for the supposed war. I have no problem moving forward and marching down there by myself. It would be a good surprise for the arrogant queen." Darius leaned over the maps.

Allan tutted, "I heard that they were actually planning to take on Melenmore. I think she’s going to capture that Kingdom first and take over their army. Then she would be coming at us."

Tristan scoffed. "If she does, then do we have the arrangements ready?"

Allan nodded. They had made sure that every arrangement was ready before returning to the north.

Tristan glanced at the west. Astria and Anastasia.

"What else are you waiting for?" He heard Darius’s voice. "We have the perfect opportunity for you to know how Genevieve’s feelings are in the clear and she hates Anastasia for what she has done. Going to war and having her leading it is the best one can come up with."

"I am not against the war." Tristan rebuked back, "what I am thinking of is why should we let her have Melenmore?"

Darius frowned, his own eyes on the map.

Tristan continued and pointed to the kingdom where Genevieve was born, "we should not let her conquer this Kingdom. Instead we warn them to know what is happening and let them fight this on their own. Astria would be a weak, perfect opportunity for us to overpower both of those kingdoms."

"Both?" Allan repeated, "should we have both?"

"We would have three with us then." Darius tilted his head. "North East and West. We could deal with the South later."

Tristan agreed, "South would be an appreciated challenge. After conquering these two our beasts would be hungry for a real one."

Daruous straightened up, "All of that aside, now would be the real challenge of making Genevieve agree to go to the war. What makes you think that after today’s slight violence she is going to agree to go to a bigger one that’s going to actually kill thousands of people?"

"That would not be needed," Arnold stepped into the room and immediately bowed to his king.

Darius scowled at the man, "where have you been? You were aware of this meeting, were you not?"

He nodded. "I have received some news from the borders of my king. You would be pleased to know that we have a solution for making Princess Genevieve go to war."

"Well then?" Tristan pushed. "Hurry up."

Arnold smirked, "The second crowned Prince of Lethoris has been seen at the borders. We have let him enter for now."

Tristan’s eyes twitched. Darius’s loud laugh irritated him to the very bone.

"Looks like you are not the only one who is after the princess. I think she can replace you for your incompetence anytime." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

He did not like that. He hated that he could not claim her yet and everyone else thought that they had a right on her. She was his. Only if he could get his hands on the human—

But it could be used.

"Let him into the palace," he surprised everyone by saying that, "in fact send someone that could lead him into the palace. I think we might have found another way to make sure that the princess actually goes to war." A small smirk came to his face. What an opportunity.

"Well I say that is a good opportunity for all of us to have fun." Darius suggested with an evil smirk of his own, "that bastard and his soldiers have always tried to hurt my men. I think it’s time I go hunting."
