Chapter 131: Darius; the friend - II

If that did not take me by surprise I do not know what would. People considered me weak?

"Tell me what you are thinking."

It was a gentle command and I did not have any reason to defy because for me I wanted to talk to him truly.

"I am thinking about how can they consider princesse weak. I have a crown and have an army at my back to defend me whenever it is needed. How can someone ever be so stupid to consider me weak?"

He suppressed his smile. " I like where your thoughts are going because it means that you truly understand what I’m talking about." That sounded like praise. " I am not talking about how you are weak as a princess. A crown and an army seems insignificant when we talk about an individual. I was talking about you and the sign you have Genevieve."

"I have a strong spine." I immediately defended myself with the touch of feeling offended. Why would he question that?

He chuckled, "if you have a strong spine my dear then why would you ever feel the need to defend yourself?" He said pointedly and I understood where he was coming from.

" When we talk about a strong spine and about how the individual is, we also talk about the need to argue with fools and how confident the person is and to what level."

So he was calling himself a fool because I told him that I have a strong spine?

But that was a question for another time. "Who considers me weak, Darius?" I want to know who it was who considered me weak.

"Everyone, I would say." He said frankly and I gasped.

"What!"

He nodded. "Tell me Genevieve, how long has it been that Tristan has been avoiding you and you have not even questioned anyone about it?"

I took my eyes away from the men and moved it over the flowers. To be honest it had been quite a while.

" Everyone questions why the lady who has been staying here because of sir Tristan does not look for him when he is really avoiding her."

I shrugged my shoulders slightly, " if I am to be honest with you I have no such relationships that would have me going after him to ask what he is avoiding me for. We are both grown individuals who can sort it out by keeping our differences aside."

He scoffed, "if only."

" What?" I asked clearly, unable to hear what he had muttered under his breath.

" Nothing," he shook his head. "So, he has a charming personality, yes?"

I nodded, those were my words.

He nodded back, " do you really want me to expect that you’re interested has nothing going on? I thought you had feelings for him but when I look at you I only confirm them."

" Confirm them?" How did he know? " How do you confirm them?"

"It is often the person will love you have feelings for we try to have some kind of security for themselves top whenever you are in the slightest of troubles you always look for Tristan," he looked at me pointedly, "just as you did when I found you roaming in l’isly in hallways and now that I have cornered you with my questions."

Heat crawled up my cheeks and I looked away. He knew!

"Well, truth be told, he won’t know about us talking, so if you want you can confide in me as he would do with a friend." He smiled cheekily at that.

" The only person I could confide in as a friend and one who would never betray weavers Marilyn who ended up being hung from a poor because of me." I told him, " if anything I shall never have the power to ever relay my thoughts to someone else who is not her."

" Merilyn?" He mused. " A friend she was?"

I shook my head at his wrong assumption. "Merilyn was my lady in waiting who have been assigned to me at the age of 12. We have been through thick and thin more than I believe my parents ever did."

" Ah," he nodded understanding. " And how it ended up being hung from a pole?"

Now I did you silent. This question brought more painful memories that anyone could ever imagine. Seeing the face of the person that I had imagined to be with me while I was on my death bed end up dead herself was not something I was ready for. I was not in the slightest ready for it

"Tell me," he said again and it felt like he was guided me through my pain.

"Marilyn ended up dead because I was accused of being a whore. She took the other path while she told me to go for another and the next thing I know was when I walked back into the capital she was beheaded and called a which as I had apparently disappeared."

He nodded and remained silent before movements before speaking up again. "And what do you plan to do about it?" When I gave him a questioning look and he noticed if further explained, "how would you Avenge for it? You and I both know she did not deserve that she received."

I blinked at that. It felt like there was for someone who was holding my hand and trying to make me think clear.

"I have not thought anything about . ." Because I was too busy dealing with grief if it had brought me. I had not even begun to think about how was I going to avenge her death.

He nodded as he sighed, "Grief can be felt in many ways and two of the most common ones are crying and revenge. I think you’ve cried enough, maybe it is time for Revenge."

At the bird revenge my heart roared like a lion ready to receive and welcomed the bloodshed.

"What do I do?" The words flew out like wind and he smiled.

"We tell them where you are," he said and stopped walking as he turned to me, "We tell them rnat you are alive and with the north."
