The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 122: A door unlocked - II
"Uh . . It’s. . "
"Yes?" I heard him say.
"It’s snowing here." I pointed out with embarrassment and pity, "It snows here too." Where was I to go?
I said slight laughter behind me and I could tell that I was using him to a great degree.
"My dear I told you that North has snow all year around. Of course there is snow outside the palace."
" Bu . .but. . " Even though I wanted to refuse to give up on my escape attempt, I knew that I was not going far from here. The doubts that previously served in my mind about how I was going to survive outside the unrest and a new possibility came in that if there was no capital what was I going to do in the first place.
No capital meant that there was no one to help me out of the kingdom and if there was no one to help me out of the kingdom then I was just going to travel miles and miles of snow.
"It. ." I stare at it longingly. There was snow all around and not even a small pavement which told me that the servants would walk from here.
"Do you care to go back, my darling?" He asked from behind me and I could feel his warmth.
I did not turn to look at him, rather I continued to stay outside. A small door to freedom, to the outside world where I had not been for a few days or perhaps a week because I have stopped giving count after two days.
I gulped and stepped forward into the snow which under the touch of my shoe slightly dug into the ground more.
"What are you doing?" Fingers curled around my hand and I was pulled back to turn around and to the angry young man. "What do you think about walking into such weather with just a cloak on?"
I stared at him without replying to him first. Tristan had a furious expression on his face.
"You must know I have been locked up in my room for days and hours to go out and enjoy a small walk," I told him equally harshly, "and if that is okay with you I will like to go now."
He titled his head slightly and his eyebrow raised slightly along with that. It was as if he were challenging me back.
"A walk? Well then I will be a gentleman and accompany a lady with it."
Excuse me god, but Damn you to hell Tristan.
I did not answer him but turned around to walk away. It was snow all around and I could not see any housing near the palace.
Remembering the palace I turned to look at it.
"Oh my . ." If I thought that the palace of astria was beautiful than this was much more than that. But it was also dark. Usually Palaces were made of light coloured bricks but this one was made of dark, almost dark grey bricks.
This was very different yet very beautiful and I i could not wait to see how it looked from the front.
"How do we get to the front of the palace? I would love to see it." I turned to him who had always been looking at me.
" I’m afraid we cannot see it from the front. It is a long way there and we are only here for a short walk." Tristan came forward and held out his elbow, which I took.
His words made me sad when I thought about it. Why can I not look at the palace from the front? If anything, if he could get me a room in a palace of the northern king who did not entertain any kind of guests, he surely could have made me see the front of the palace. Now, this meant that he was hiding something from me.
The snow always made a sound when I stepped on it and I found it to be fascinating because in my country whenever it is winter and it’s out around Christmas the ground will never be covered enough to make the crunching noise.
Whenever it’s now at the palace pavements are always clear of it which is why we never got the chance to step on it.
"I have always loved gardens, haven’t you Genevieve?" I heard him say, "It snows too much news here for a garden to come, which is why you want me saying anything here unless they are indoor plants."
I nodded my head, looking at him, " you remembered." I pointed out and he nodded.
"Of course I did. When we were traveling you always loved to look out to the fields of flowers and you never did to pluck one."
My eyebrows raised for a small moment and then I looked to be thinking about what he had said.
How much was said that this man had noticed about me and I had let go unnoticed?
"You scare me now." I whispered into the air not hoping that his ears would not catch it. He stopped walking and I looked towards him to find out what the problem was.
"I do?" He turned to look at me and then we stood facing each other. "I don’t understand how I have started to scare you. It was never my intention to ever let you feel something so unwanted against me."
" You’ve changed." I decided not to hide it anymore and tell him how truly I felt about all of this. " If there was anything I admire about you, how opposite you were of every man I had ever met. Everyone is selfish why was you care for everyone as if they were your own family and blood and now you are the one who has brought me to the kingdom of north, The mysterious one of them all, you have been keeping me in a room and I have been locked there for days and there is only one person coming in my room who always smiles and it irks me."
He didn’t say anything but with the way his lips and I knew that he did not like it.
