The Primordial Record-Chapter 2148: The Transcedent Layer
The journey through this eternal tower was tragic as more and more Incarnations sat on its stairs and fought the silence until the end of their lives.
It was impossible for Luminious Silence not to notice that these Incarnations were becoming increasingly harder to kill, and he could tell that they were adapting to the power of Lumina.
This was ridiculous when it was considered that the power of Lumina was like comparing Will to Intent. It was a complete evolution of power, and despite the fact that Origin had equal potential with Lumina, from the beginning of Existence, this power had been suppressed.
In fact, in some ways, Lumina was a copy of Origin; it was the answer to the Great One’s desire for the control of Origin.
Placing Intent before Will was useless, and so Origin before Lumina should have been an instantaneous crush.
Luminious Silence was focused on other matters and could not fully channel his strength towards the Incarnations, but that should not have mattered.
An ant was not supposed to be able to delay the storm, even if the storm was a small one; it was still a storm, and an ant was still an ant.
Luminious Silence was so close to getting what he came for, but the Incarnations were too close to reaching him, and he had a premonition that he did not want them near him.
With a roar of irritation that resounded throughout the tower, Luminious Silence turned his gaze fully upon the ascending Incarnations.
Above the Incarnations, a pale, beautiful face appeared, crowned with a circlet that held countless trillions of screaming, silent heads.
These heads were the gods, divinities, and monsters harvested from all Existences by Luminious Silence.
The face looked down on these ascending Primordials, and it muttered a single word,
"Fall!"
From the mouth came a storm of silence, invisible to the naked eye, but carried such intense power of Lumina that it took visible shape, resembling a white fog moving at speeds that would make light seem like the crawling of a snail.
This power pushed a wave of silence ahead that pressed down on the Incarnations, halting their progress.
The wave of fog washed towards the Incarnation, and they knew if it touched them, they would all perish.
A decision made by the Incarnations was instantaneous, and Primordial Light pushed himself to stand in front of all the Incarnations.
Someone would have to stand in front of it all to take the weight of this attack, and Primordial Light, one of the first Incarnations to glimpse the fifth layer of Light, was supposed to be at the center to be safe until the end, but battle was a dynamic affair, and nothing was set in stone.
Ascending to the fifth layer of Origin was relatively easy once the path had been laid out, but the process of this ascension was where the trouble lay.
The descending white fog transformed into a white blade, and Primordial Light raised his hand up towards it, as if he was going to stop it alone with just a single palm.
Above, the gigantic face of Luminious Silence saw this, and it smirked. How could an ant stop a storm?
Inside the Origin Core of Primordial Light that resembled the brightest sun in all Existence, and inside this core, something drastic began to happen.
The first layer of Light was the Radiant Layer, the light that reveals. This layer granted the Primordial the simple but profound power of seeing and being seen.
There had been many beings who craved to master the power of Light, who wanted to stand radiant before all of Existence, and yet most of them did not know that light should illuminate themselves as well as the world.
For a Primordial to reach the first layer of Light, they needed to understand this layer, and it did not take Eos long to understand this.
Eva, daughter of Old Light, wanted a light that revealed, but she did not want the opposite, because she was also the Lady of Shadows, and so she wanted a part of her always hidden. This was the only reason she did not become Primordial Light... she had spent too long in the shadows.
The second layer of Light was the Essence Layer, the illumination that animates. This layer was granted to the Primordial who understood that light had the power to heal or sicken, extend life or hasten death, or perceive the true vitality of any being. To touch this light is to touch the essence of life itself.
All the Incarnations here worked together to achieve a common goal, and the Essence Layer of Primordial Light had greatly eased the healing and recovery of the Incarnations here in this ascent.
The third layer of Light was the Intellect Layer, the illumination that comprehends. It grants insights, accelerates learning, illuminates hidden connections, or blinds minds with too much truth. This is the light of the scholar, the mystic, the artist at the moment of creation, and for Eos, understanding this layer was extremely simple.
When Primordial Light was killed by the Beast of Final Rest, Death, it had been one of Eos’s favorite pastimes to explore the deeper layer of light.
As he did, the perversion of the Ancient Primordial on such a fundamental piece of Existence hurt when he realized how much Asteroath had defaced this Origin.
Nothing Eos regretted more than the fact that he was not the one to kill Asteroath, but with this legacy, he would do so much more.
The fourth layer of light was the Essential layer, the illumination that defines. Mastering this last layer was to master clarity and to perceive absolute truth.
Primordial Light would be able to strip illusions from any being or object, or to gaze into the essential nature of existence.
For a long time, Eos could not see a level beyond this layer, but the depths of Origin for him were almost limitless, and even in these four layers, he saw new wonders every day.
However, he could not see beyond this existence, and he had been slowly searching for the fifth layer of Origin for light, and he found it today.
The fifth layer of Light was called the Transcendent Layer, the Uncreated radiance. In the depths of this layer was the first light, and this was the layer that the Incarnation, Rowan, reached towards.
