The Prime Minister Seduced Me to have Babies!-Chapter 646: Serendipitous Encounter
Jiang Youzhi thought for a moment and reminded Lin Shuo, "Meeting privately like this is indeed not appropriate."
"Why don’t you mention to your mother that you want to meet someone, and see what the Feng family has to say."
Lin Shuo nodded, "I’ll mention it to my mother when I return home."
"By the way, Brother Jiang, don’t forget about my entry into the Military Department either."
The two chatted leisurely for a while longer before heading home separately.
Once home, Lin Shuo went to see Madam Hou.
"Mother talked about marriage yesterday, and I’ve thought it over carefully. I’d like to meet Miss Feng."
Madam Hou rarely smiled, "It is indeed time to consider a match. I’ll send a message to Mrs. Yu right away."
"If you don’t like her, I’ll find another family for you to choose from, to make sure you find a girl you like."
"Thank you, Mother." Lin Shuo bowed and withdrew.
Nowadays, there is no longer the warmth between them as there was in the past, with politeness tinged with a sense of alienation, which is inevitable.
A few days later, Madam Hou called Lin Shuo over, "I’ve arranged with Mrs. Yu to visit the temple at Daxiangguo Temple tomorrow to offer prayers, and you can meet there."
Daxiangguo Temple is within the Capital City. Early next morning, Lin Shuo rode his horse, escorting Madam Hou’s carriage to Daxiangguo Temple.
There were many vendors around Daxiangguo Temple, even though it wasn’t the time for temple fairs yet. During the temple fair season, the surrounding area within a mile or two is extremely crowded.
After the carriage was parked, Madam Hou alighted and walked, Lin Shuo stayed close to protect her, fearing someone might bump into her.
Madam Hou occasionally turned her head to look at him, her gaze exceedingly tender.
The carriage could only stop outside the grand mountain gate; they had to pass through two gates and a plaza to reach the main hall.
On either side of the first mountain gate, there were many small stalls, mostly selling flowers, birds, insects, and fish.
Lin Shuo accompanied Madam Hou, slowly walking and observing as they went.
As they were walking, someone suddenly called him from behind, "Brother Lin!"
Lin Shuo turned around and saw Jiang Youzhi not far behind him.
Beside Jiang Youzhi stood Lady Wu, and next to Lady Wu was Yun Jiao.
Lin Shuo raised his eyebrows high, "What a coincidence, today isn’t a temple fair, how come you’ve come to stroll around Xiangguo Temple too."
Lady Wu and Madam Hou greeted each other, Jiang Youzhi whispered, "My father was poisoned a few days ago, and my mother prayed to all the gods and deities."
"My father is fine now, so naturally she wants to fulfill her vow. In recent days, I’ve accompanied her to quite a few temples, starting with those outside the city, and Daxiangguo Temple is the last one."
"I didn’t let Jiao Jiao go to the temples outside the city previously, fearing it’s unsafe. Daxiangguo Temple is in the city, so it’s perfect for bringing her here."
Lin Shuo nodded, glanced at Yun Jiao not far away, and smiled at her.
Jiang Youzhi asked again, "Are you accompanying your mother on an outing?"
Lin Shuo felt a little embarrassed, coughed lightly, "Didn’t you mention earlier about meeting someone? So I talked to my mother about it at home, and today—"
Jiang Youzhi winked at Lin Shuo, "What a coincidence, Jiao Jiao and I are here as well, we can also help you evaluate."
Lady Wu and Madam Hou along with Yun Jiao had already walked ahead, the two chatted as they followed.
Madam Hou had arranged to meet Mrs. Yu at the back of the temple, where there is a quiet room with fewer visitors, providing tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle.
The two ladies could have tea in the quiet room while Lin Shuo and Miss Feng could stroll at the back.
Everyone slowly made their way inside, upon reaching the Grand Hall, they all offered their prayers, Lady Wu smiled at Madam Hou and said, "You go ahead, I’ve vowed to pay respects to every Bodhisattva of various sizes throughout the temple."
