The President is Being Shameless Again-Chapter 347: There’s A Hint of Grievance in His Gentle Yet Elegant Voice
She saw that he was now only carrying the bag that was underneath the box as they walked outside.
It was not very warm, but it was not necessary by any means to wear a thick winter coat.
Wei Zilin had a black coat on. He looked dashing even when pushing the trolley.
Because of its weight, the coat did not flutter in the wind, instead, the sides of the coat hung low on both sides of him, swaying ever so slightly as he walked.
His mannerism was so magnetic that it made people want to just reach out and grab him. One would be so lucky if he was to even stop to look in their direction.
Xu Moyan was unsure whether other passengers would have the same thoughts as her. But she did see some young ladies looking at Wei Zilin. Xu Moyan felt that perhaps they were feeling the attraction she was feeling at that moment.
If she were in their shoes, she would probably stare at him as well.
However, this polished man was her boyfriend. She did not need to look at him in secret like other girls.
Wei Zilin spotted Xu Moyan in the crowd and saw that she was waving at him. His usually stoic face blossomed into a smile after seeing her.
His face looked like it was coated with a thin layer of ice, but it warmed up when he saw Xu Moyan. The soft sunlight was nothing compared to his gentle eyes and dashing smile.
At that moment, the people around him noticed that his eyes were fixed on one particular woman.
Her long and wavy hair was resting softly on her back while two strands rested in the front. She was smiling sweetly at him.
Even though she was not extremely pretty, but she looked like a perfect match for Wei Zilin.
Of course, Wei Zilin pushed his trolley alongside her.
Ignoring the looks from other people, he pulled Xu Moyan toward him and kissed her.
Xu Moyan did not expect that he would do this while people were watching. Before he kissed her, she saw that the people around her were smirking.
Even if they did not have any bad intentions toward them, she still felt shy.
She pushed him away quietly. Wei Zilin let go of her and said in a deep and gruff voice, “I missed you.”
The kiss seemed like nothing compared to those three words.
Then, Wei Zilin asked, “Did you miss me?”
Xu Moyan felt that other people were staring at her, but she did not know if they were eavesdropping or not. She felt shy saying it, so she tried to change the subject. “What’s in this box?”
Wei Zilin lifted his eyebrow. He knew exactly what she was doing.
There was a hint of grievance in his gentle yet elegant voice. His voice changed as he said softly, “Didn’t you miss me?”
Xu Moyan could not stand it when he spoke like that. She would give in a heartbeat whenever he used that voice.
Xu Moyan felt that it might hurt him if she did not say so.
“I did. I missed you too,” she said quickly.
As a reward, Wei Zilin smirked and kissed her on the forehead. They then pushed the trolley and left.
There were a number of taxis waiting at the arrival gate for the passengers to get onboard.
Wei Zilin placed his luggage and the box in the trunk with the help of the taxi driver. He then followed Xu Moyan to the backseat and explained, “I bought some souvenirs from Li City. I can’t visit my in-laws empty-handed. I wanted to buy them when I came to Jin City, but I was afraid that I wouldn’t have enough time, so I picked them up in Li City.”
Wei Zilin kept holding onto her hand. Even though they were only apart for a few days, he still missed her very much. He did not want to let go of her hand for even a second.
The driver was concentrating on his driving in front, so he did not notice what was going on at the backseats, which was why Xu Moyan was fine with Wei Zilin holding her hand.
“What were your parents’ reactions when you told them about me?” Wei Zilin asked.
Xu Moyan noticed a hint of nervousness in his voice. It was a little shocking.
“They’re afraid that I will not live up to your standards. But I told them, you’ll stick with me the whole way. They will know more about you when they meet you later,” Xu Moyan said, lifting her head to look into his gentle and loving eyes. Perhaps it was because of what she said that there was more love in his eyes.
“My mom was worried at first, but after a while, she started asking what you like to eat and what you don’t like to eat. She took her trolley to the supermarket to buy more ingredients even though we have a lot at home. People say that a mother-in-law would grow fonder of the son-on-law as days go by. She still hasn’t met you yet and she’s already fond of you. After sending my mom off, my dad went rummaging in the alcohol cabinet.” Xu Moyan was rendered speechless by her parents, but she also thought that their demeanor was adorable.
Wei Zilin could not help but laugh. He pretended he was scared and asked, “Is it to get me drunk?”
“Yeah,” Xu Moyan said cheerfully. “He said he wanted to see what you’re like when you’re drunk. You get to know someone better once they’re drunk.”
“Then I shall put on my best behavior,” Wei Zilin said, his voice mellow.
Xu Moyean worried about whether the alcohol would affect his voice.
“How’s your alcohol tolerance? I’ve never seen you drink before.” Xu Moyan shook his hand flirtatiously though at the same time was worried about him.
“Don’t worry. My tolerance’s fine, not sure about my father-in-law’s tolerance though,” Wei Zilin said. “Even if it isn’t great, I’ll make sure to drink until I’m drunk so I can have fun with my father-in-law.”
Xu Moyan wanted to correct him, but when she remembered that her parents were already calling him their son-in-law, she stopped herself.
What if they were to call him their son-in-law later? Wei Zilin would make fun of them for sure.
When they arrived at home, it was already 6:30 pm due to the heavy traffic.
The area around the residential area was extraordinarily lively.
They could smell the alluring smell of barbequed meat from inside the taxi.
The noise from the hawkers and passerby entered the car from a small crack in the window. It was a sight that Wei Zilin has never seen and a sight that Xu Moyan had not seen in a while.
Since it was difficult to find parking in the residential area, the taxi stopped at the entrance. The two of them stepped out of the car and walked back holding hands. It was dinner time at the time, so everyone was busy cooking.
Some residents living on the first floor had their kitchen window opened. The sound of cooking could be heard coming from the streets below.
The smell of the cooking could make someone hungry salivate on the spot.
They ran into an aunty from next door when they arrived at Xu Moyan’s house.
The aunty looked at them with a grin on her face. “Moyan, you’ve brought your boyfriend back.”
Xu Moyan nodded.
“No wonder your mother’s so happy. I saw her buying so many things this afternoon,” said the aunty. Xu Moyan could not tell if she was exaggerating, but it would be possible since Li Lanying seemed so excited about meeting Wei Zilin.
“You should go back now. Your dad has been looking out for you from the balcony for a while now,” said the aunty while pointing to their unit.
Xu Moyan waved goodbye to the aunty bashfully and brought Wei Zilin upstairs.
The staircase was not very wide, so the steps were not wide either.
While Wei Zilin was walking up the stairs, Xu Moyan noticed that he had the smell of smoke on him. Xu Moyan wanted to help him with the bags, but he refused.
He looked a mess while trying to hold a piece of luggage and a huge box at the same time.
Xu Moyan was walking in front of him. She could not help but giggle when she saw what he looked like.
She did not pay attention to where so was going, so she tripped on one of the steps. Luckily Wei Zilin was there to catch her.
He let go of the luggage in his hand and had his arm around Xu Moyan’s waist. He put his lips near her ear and said, “What were you thinking about when you weren’t paying attention?”
Xu Moyan shook her head and said timidly, “I was looking at you.”
She was worried about him carrying so many things at once and tried to get away from his grip. “Let’s go. You must be tired from carrying so many things.”
Since it was a bit inconvenient for him to be in that position, he let go of her and grabbed hold of the luggage again.
This time, Xu Moyan paid attention to where she was going and quickly brought him to the fourth floor.
When Xu Moyan was about to press the doorbell when Wei Zilin stopped her.
He moved the luggage and box aside and tidied his appearance, then he patted away the dust and lint on his clothes. “Do I look okay?”
It seemed like he was capable of being nervous after all.
Xu Moyan wanted to laugh, but at the same time, she felt touched. She straightened his coat for him once again and said, “I thought you were just playing with me when you said you were nervous.”
Wei Zilin took in a deep breath and let it out. “No way. It’s my first time here as a son-in-law, of course I’m nervous.”
