The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend-Chapter 680 - I am Your Retribution!
Han Wu and Qin Shuang returned to his divine realm in spirit form. The moment he arrived, Han Wu felt the familiar energy around him and yelled, “I am back!”
He then sensed his true self calling and smiled.
“Wait here. I will be back soon,” he told Qin Shuang.
Qin Shuang nodded, and Han Wu’s Divine Soul merged back with his true self alongside Undying and Duel. He was whole once more.
In the Soul Kingdom, his Divine Soul had accumulated 10,000 soul points, which transformed it at its very foundation. That change now manifested as a Divine Ring filled with Spiritual Energy behind him.
At the same time, another Microcosm emerged within his consciousness: the Soul Microcosm. With it, Han Wu gained the ability to convert energy into Spiritual Energy. Huangquan had relied on his spirit form numerous times to avoid Han Wu’s attacks. Now that Han Wu could use Spiritual Energy, the balance would change.
Within his consciousness, all the Microcosms gathered energy. The Mechanical Microcosm drew in pure energy, the Dead Microcosm collected death aura, and the Soul Microcosm absorbed Spiritual Energy.
Energy also flowed from the Microcosms of his units and friends. The Origin of Mutation’s Viral Microcosm transmitted Viral Energy, the Umbral Mouse’s Dark Microcosm supplied Dark Energy, and Steely’s Hurricane Microcosm sent Wind Energy.
...
All these streams converged upon his original Microcosm, which then channeled the combined power to Han Wu. His Conversion Jurisdiction refined every trace into pure Spiritual Energy. With it, he formed a massive arm entirely of Spiritual Energy that surpassed Huangquan in size.
Under Huangquan’s fearful gaze, Han Wu brought the palm down as if swatting a fly. The blow gravely injured Huangquan, and he wanted to flee. He no longer cared about the Spirit Stones of the Giant Shadow Civilization, his Soul Kingdom, or even his believers. He intended to abandon everything to escape.
Han Wu wouldn’t allow it. “You vile evil God. How dare you send your believers to harvest souls everywhere. Have you ever considered the consequences?”
Han Wu raised the massive arm again, its shadow engulfing Huangquan.
Huangquan pleaded in despair, “Please don’t kill me. I swear my allegiance to you. We can sign a contract to ensure that—”
The arm descended, crushing Huangquan to pieces. After he died, Han Wu uttered slowly, “I am your retribution!”
His Conversion Jurisdiction manifested and started absorbing fragments of Huangquan’s essence. The energy then flowed into Han Wu’s brand new Soul Microcosm. With enough energy, it expanded rapidly until it matched the size of Huangquan’s Soul Kingdom. After that, the huge Soul Microcosm started absorbing surrounding souls to populate it.
With Huangquan’s death, the Soul Kingdom slowly faded. The powerful officials regained their freedom, yet their excitement was muted. After all, they were still spirits. Even those who had reached the World rank weren’t as powerful as true living beings. In the outside world, they were like walking treasure chests. Hiding within the Soul Kingdom offered greater safety.
That was when they noticed Han Wu’s new Soul Microcosm, which was currently absorbing nearby souls to populate it. Because it had just formed, it lacked strict rules or limitations. To the officials, it represented unexplored territory. They pushed Sha Xin to be their representative and urged him to petition Han Wu for permission to settle there.
Sha Xin desired freedom more than most. Still, the prospect of a stable refuge was appealing, so he approached Han Wu and proposed that the officials reside within the Soul Microcosm. They promised that they wouldn’t stay there for free. They offered their own Microcosms as the price for residence.
Han Wu observed that the Soul Kingdom had 189 officials, and thirty-seven of them were at the World rank. If he accepted them, he would gain thirty-seven Microcosms in one go.
For a World life form, additional Microcosms meant greater strength. Even though Han Wu walked the path of quality, he still envisioned a vast constellation of Microcosms in his consciousness.
Moreover, allowing the officials to stay in his Soul Microcosm presented practical benefits. Han Wu wouldn’t have to assign his own units to manage the Soul Microcosm. The officials could oversee its operations themselves. This arrangement would save Han Wu both time and resources.
After considering his options, he agreed. The displaced officials gathered their belongings and moved into their new home.
The moment they joined his side, Han Wu received thirty-eight new Microcosms in his consciousness. At the same time, his Soul Microcosm grew stronger, and its rate of soul absorption intensified. Some of the trapped souls in the Soul Kingdom or those that had survived the war were drawn into it and formally became a part of Han Wu.
Han Wu then realized that if the Soul Microcosm continued absorbing souls at this pace, it would become overpopulated. The prospect raised difficult questions. How should he deal with the souls after that? Crush the excess souls and extract their Spiritual Energy? Or have them compete and nurture only the strongest?
He dismissed both options. His Reincarnation provided a better solution. He could establish a reincarnation system that allowed powerful souls to enter Han Wu’s original Microcosm and be reborn as true, living life forms.
This approach surpassed simple transmigration, though the two concepts were similar. It could solve the Soul Microcosm’s overpopulation issue while bolstering Han Wu’s forces. The plan achieved two goals at once.
Meanwhile, the Soul Microcosm’s officials could continue managing the new souls. When exhaustion set in, they could choose to reincarnate and experience the joy of having flesh and blood. After death, they could resume their duties.
Han Wu understood how to deploy them efficiently. Within the bounds of the rules, he intended to squeeze every ounce of value they possessed.
