Calix and Lou started running away from the danger. However, things started to get serious. The border was getting affected by the infection.
More zombies kept popping up. Thankfully, Calix's had a powerful gun that could eradicate the zombies.
Behind him was Lou Viola who was keeping close to him.
"Lou, take this."
Calix gave her an energy gun to protect herself.
"I- I can't do it... But I will keep the gun."
Lou Viola grabbed the weapon with shaking hands. She never held a gun. She was scared of hurting people. Yet she knew that her life was more important than keeping her philosophical views.
If possible, she didn't want to reach the point where she had to pull the trigger.
The two started running away from the horde of zombies. The zombies were fast and aggressive. They could run fast and then physical strength was terrifying. Especially when the zombies were mostly soldiers.
Thankfully, they could not use their Term Attributes. Because that would be fucked up. The zombies were only mindless creatures that were feeding on human flesh.
While shooting zombies to bits, Calix took out his phone. He started calling Kimberly and Scarlett... Yes, they were the only ones that he could contact using the phone.
To be precise, he wanted to call Yuna but his only means of contact were Scarlett and Kimberly.
He didn't expect that this outcome would happen and he gladly needed Yuna's teleportation.
'If I know that this will happen, I should have convinced Kimberly to make a phone for Yuna.'
While escaping from the zombies, Calix and Lou found that the soldiers started fighting the zombies. The soldiers were protected by wearing battlesuits.
The TA Users began dismantling the zombies to pieces so that they would stop attacking. Shooting their heads was another method to stop their tracks. As long as the zombies stopped, then everything was fine.
"Thank God! The soldiers arrived!"
The survivors screamed in joy witnessing how the soldiers minced the zombies.
Calix and Lou sighed in relief. They were happy to see the soldiers.
"I still need to call Yuna."
Calix realized that this country might not be safe for them.
"Calix... About Oni... What happened to her?"
The two found a safe place. Lou Viola started asking about Oni Chichi. She was worried about her friend.

Calix felt guilty. It didn't sit well when he saw Oni Chichi crying. Even now, he was mad at himself. His feelings for Oni Chichi were complicated.
But he wished that Oni Chichi was alive. Because he wanted to make his decision right. Once he saw her again, he would tell his honest feelings for her.
"I hope she's alive." He muttered.
"I- I see..."
Lou was shocked. She was scared by the fact that she might not see Oni Chichi again. Tears started gathering in her eyes as she sobbed.
"Don't worry Lou, I will try my best to find her."
Calix hugged her to assure her.
"Calix, I'm scared. What about Shoujo? I'm scared that something happened to her too. These incidents are happening all around the country and the University might be affected."
"Shoujo will be alright. I believe she will be alright."
Calix answered with confidence. Unlike Oni Chichi who only received a kiss from him, Shoujo got hours of dicking last night. She was Lucky.
Regarding Lou's hypothesis, the University of Horvart was indeed undergoing the same process. The students started acting strange and attack people. The situation at the University was actually much worst than at the border. The border had a lot of soldiers compared to Horvart and other regions of the country.
"H- Hey! What is that!?"
"What the fuck is going on!"
"Shit!"
Calix and Lou heard the commotion and they sensed the danger.
The two became alert... Then, they looked at the sky. The night sky was beautiful because of the shimmering stars. Yet the one thing that caught their attention was the thousands of people who were free-falling!
"... This is the second time I experienced this."
He recalled that time when Esmeralda became the president.
"Calix, what is going on?"
"If I'm not wrong, these people are the followers of the Council of Torment."

Lou's complexion was getting paler. Things were getting worse.
The followers started casting their spells while free-falling from the sky.
"Duck!"
Calix noticed that one of the spells was close to them. An explosion happened and the two flew across the street. Thankfully, Calix protected Lou from the fall.
"Could it be that this incident is done by the Council of Torment?"
He felt that the zombies and the Council of Torment were related.
"Lou... We might have to run away."
"I understand."
The first rule in survival was to run away from danger. To be honest, Calix wanted to find Oni Chichi first but he could not leave Lou Viola. His first priority was Lou Viola and her child.
"Let's go."
"Okay."
The two were wearing battlesuits and they could run faster. They started evading the zombies and the followers. If they could not evade them, Calix would pull out his gun and kill them.
Minutes passed and the two reached the exit to the border... It was packed with people.
"Let us leave! We can't stay in this place! It's dangerous!"
"Are you serious? You don't want to open the gate!? Fuck!"
The people were trying to leave the border but the exit was closed.
"Calix... I'm scared."
Lou held Calix's hand.
"I will protect you with all of my life."
"Hm." Lou tried to smile.
They turned around... The zombies were coming.
