The Omega Is Pregnant-Chapter 28
Tae-seo had said it himself—he probably ate well because of Alpha pheromones.
It wasn’t a particularly meaningful statement. He had just mentioned it in passing when Se-heon commented on his appetite. Not every conversation had to be important; sometimes, words were just words, drifting by.
But he hadn’t expected Se-heon to actually remember it.
To actually wait here because of it.
Tae-seo couldn’t bring himself to look at Se-heon directly. His heart felt unsteady, like it was trembling inside his chest, so he instinctively placed a hand over it. Maybe it was just because he had gotten up too suddenly after napping.
“Food, I mean...”
What was he even trying to say?
Tae-seo started, then sighed heavily. Looking at Se-heon’s face stirred up everything that had happened today, sending his thoughts into chaos.
“I thought no one would be home when I got back. But my parents were waiting for me like they knew I was coming, so I felt a little surprised... and a little guilty.”
“They must have been worried.”
“Of course. I may not look like it, but I’m a very loved son.”
Tae-seo spoke like a kindergartener spilling every little detail to his mother after school.
When I got home, my parents were there. I was nervous at first, but they didn’t scold me too much. They did tell me off enough to make me reflect on my mistakes, though.
He kept talking, as if explaining himself to Se-heon, the man who had been waiting for him just to make sure he ate properly.
Se-heon didn’t interrupt. He simply listened.
“Then I went upstairs, and lying in my bed after so long felt both comfortable and awkward at the same time...”
Somewhere along the way, Tae-seo realized he had been rambling. He gave an awkward smile.
“I’ve been talking too much about myself, haven’t I?”
“Having loving parents who scold you when necessary... sounds like good parents to me.”
Se-heon offered his thoughts before Tae-seo could feel too self-conscious.
Tae-seo nodded, agreeing, but then smoothly changed the subject.
“I still haven’t told them about the pregnancy. I just... couldn’t get the words out.”
The weight pressing down on his chest—he finally said it out loud.
It was something he couldn’t say to just anyone. But with Se-heon, the words came easily.
Because he was the father?
Not really.
It was more that, for some reason, he felt comfortable talking to him.
“They were already worried enough since I was gone for days... Then to suddenly drop I’m pregnant on top of that?”
Tae-seo trailed off and sighed, running a hand through his hair. He turned his head, laughing at himself for standing out here in the cold, venting his problems.
At that moment, warmth settled atop his head.
Tae-seo didn’t lift his face, but his eyes flicked upward.
Se-heon was ruffling his hair, his face unreadable as always.
“If it’s too hard, want me to tell them?”
“You?”
“Yeah. When you said you’d handle it, I believed you, but I figured it wouldn’t be easy. It’s not exactly light news.”
Tae-seo let out a small laugh, all the tension from earlier escaping with it.
Or maybe it was just that, for once, someone understood exactly what he was feeling.
“It’d be weird if you told them. What would you even say if they asked why you were the one bringing it up? That you’re taking responsibility because you’re the father?”
“Would you like me to say that? If so, I will.”
Tae-seo blinked, startled by the direct response.
“Huh? No, that was just an example—”
He shook his head quickly, flustered.
“Anyway, if you tell them, they’ll immediately ask what kind of relationship we have. I told them I was staying at a friend’s house, but then suddenly telling them Oh, and by the way, I also got pregnant by that same friend...”
Tae-seo trailed off, his expression growing troubled.
To his parents, it would sound like he had stayed at some guy’s house and then made a mess of things.
The pregnancy had happened first, but would they be able to see it that way?
Just as he was about to voice his concerns, something clicked in his head.
His eyes widened as he looked up at Se-heon.
His sudden movement made Se-heon’s hand fall away, but that wasn’t important.
“If I have the baby... will you take responsibility?”
“Who for? You? Or the baby?”
“Uh...”
“If I had to choose, the baby. You’re an adult.”
Se-heon answered calmly, piecing together Tae-seo’s fragmented question into something coherent.
But the way he said it made it sound like he would take the baby and leave Tae-seo behind.
Tae-seo’s face darkened.
“...So you’ll take responsibility for the baby, but not me?”
“To be precise, I’d be living with you and co-parenting the baby.”
“Oh...”
“That is, if you decide to have it.”
Se-heon studied Tae-seo carefully, then added in a low voice:
“It’s your decision. Whatever you choose, I’ll respect it.”
Tae-seo narrowed his eyes.
“You being all gentle about this... It’s kind of unsettling.”
“I act like an adult when it’s important.”
“...Weren’t you even a little conflicted when I told you I was pregnant?”
Tae-seo was still struggling with the decision. How could Se-heon be so sure?
This was just the result of one careless night. Did he really want to marry him? Or did he just want to take the baby and leave him behind?

Or... maybe he didn’t want either.
But Se-heon didn’t hesitate.
“What’s there to be conflicted about? If you decide to have the baby, I’ll raise it. That’s all.”
Maybe that was why Se-heon had been so calm from the beginning.
Tae-seo hesitated, then asked again. He knew the answer, but it wouldn’t hurt to check. Once. Twice. Three times, even.
“You don’t just... want the baby?”
“I want both.”
Tae-seo huffed.
“...I’m not an object, you know.”
Se-heon didn’t respond, and Tae-seo pursed his lips. He muttered under his breath, still trying to suppress the smile tugging at his lips.
It wasn’t like he had made a decision yet.
Before he could say anything else, the front door opened.
Someone stepped out.
Tae-seo’s eyes widened in surprise.
“...Mom?”
“Mother.”
“I came out because I heard you had stepped outside, but it seems you’re not alone.”
Kim Mi-kyung’s gaze lingered on Kang Se-heon. His face was familiar, but she couldn’t immediately place him. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she searched her memory.
“I’m Kang Se-heon. I’m the ‘friend’ Tae-seo stayed with.”
Se-heon glanced at Tae-seo before formally introducing himself.
“Oh.”
The moment she heard his name, recognition dawned on her face. She turned toward Yoon Seok-hoon, who had followed her outside. He had the same reaction—mild surprise, then quiet understanding.
“Tae-seo doesn’t have many friends, so we were wondering who it could be... What an interesting connection.”
Now that she knew who had taken care of Tae-seo, Kim Mi-kyung’s expression softened. Regardless of the circumstances, she was grateful that someone had been there for her son. And from the looks of it, Tae-seo hadn’t suffered too much, which made her even more appreciative.
“Thank you for looking after our son.”
“It wasn’t difficult.”
“How could it not be? Just allowing a reckless child to stay in your home is already something to be grateful for, but you even took care of him. He must have been a burden...”
Tae-seo quietly listened as his mother exchanged pleasantries with Se-heon.
She wasn’t wrong—letting someone stay at your home wasn’t something people did lightly. Yet Se-heon had done it so effortlessly, as if it was nothing.
He could have at least made a big deal out of it. Maybe acted like it had been difficult.
But no, he just shrugged it off, like it really wasn’t a big deal.
Just as Tae-seo was thinking Couldn’t you at least take some credit? Se-heon spoke again.
“It wasn’t a burden at all. In fact, I enjoyed having Tae-seo around. I was honestly a little disappointed when he decided to go home.”
Tae-seo’s face burned.
It wasn’t even a confession, so why was his heart pounding?
As class was coming to an end, Tae-seo finally turned to look at Park Han-su.
Han-su had been sneaking glances at him the entire time—probably at least a few dozen times by now.
“Why do you keep looking at me? Have you suddenly fallen for me? Do you like me? Trying to find the perfect moment to confess?”
“Just tell me where you’ve been staying.”
“Why do you care?”
“At least tell me. You owe me that much, don’t you?”
“You? The same guy who would tell my parents everything the second they called you?”
Han-su flinched at the accusation, unable to deny it.
He had immediately called Kang In-hyuk the moment Yoon Seok-hoon had contacted him.
“Do I seem like the type to do that?”
“You are that type.”
Tae-seo didn’t even need to guess.
In the original storyline, there had been multiple ways for Tae-seo’s misdeeds to be exposed.
One of them was through Park Han-su.
He hadn’t deliberately tried to ruin Tae-seo, but he had been the one to report everything to his parents, including the incident with Seo Da-rae.
“So you’re not going to tell me?”
At first, Han-su had only been asking out of concern.
But now, curiosity was taking over.
His sharp eyes scrutinized Tae-seo’s face, scanning him up and down, before his expression subtly shifted.
“...What’s with that look?”
“You...”
Han-su had seen Tae-seo plenty of times since his return, but for some reason, he seemed to be noticing something new now.
His brows furrowed deeply, as if in deep thought.
Tae-seo, annoyed by his scrutiny, reached out and poked him between the eyebrows.
“Your face is going to get stuck like that.”
Han-su swatted his hand away.
“Why do you look so much better lately?”
“What are you talking about?”
Tae-seo frowned, swatting his hand off and rubbing his ear like he had just heard nonsense.
“No, seriously. You actually look healthier.”
“When did I ever not look fine?”
“It’s not that you didn’t before, but... how do I put this?”
Han-su pondered for a moment before snapping his fingers.
“Oh! You’ve been eating good food, haven’t you?”
“...”
Tae-seo narrowed his eyes.
Damn psychic.
His lack of denial made Han-su’s expression darken.
He looked like he was about to sulk.
“If you go to a nice place again, take me with you.”
“No.”
Tae-seo shut him down immediately.
Han-su scowled, mumbling about how unfair it was while shoving his books into his bag.
“By the way, In-hyuk’s not here today. We’ll have to do the group meeting on our own.”
“In-hyuk?”
Tae-seo blinked.
Only now did he realize that Kang In-hyuk wasn’t in the lecture hall.
How did I forget about him?
He had planned to apologize to In-hyuk and Seo Da-rae today, just like he had promised his parents.
“Where is he?”
“I heard he has a family gathering today.”
“Family?”
Tae-seo easily recalled their family members—he had even had dinner with them once.
“Once a month, the chairman gathers the direct bloodline at his house. Some kind of KH Family Assembly? Or was it just a close relatives’ gathering? Either way, only the royal bloodline gets to attend.”
Listening to Han-su’s explanation, a single thought immediately surfaced in Tae-seo’s mind.
Kang Se-heon will be there too.
If the two of them were meeting today...
What exactly would they be talking about?
