Chapter 604: Chapter 336

The two quickly went downstairs and drove off.

On the road, Qin Yulong casually asked Wenyan, "What does Third Brother look like, who does he resemble more, Dad or Mom?"

"!" This question stumped Wenyan.

She didn’t know how to answer and was only left with her thoughts racing.

[If I say I’ve never met Third Brother, would she believe me?]

Qin Yulong certainly wouldn’t believe that. She had been living in this family for so many years; how could she not have met the Shen Family’s third son?

So Qin Yulong blurted out, "How could you possibly have never met Third Brother? What a joke!"

"Ah?!" Hearing Qin Yulong say that, Wenyan was completely stunned. "Did I say something like that?"

She even began to doubt herself. Had she accidentally revealed her inner thoughts without realizing it?

Had she spoken those words out loud but not registered her own speech?

That couldn’t be; she didn’t think she had said anything just now.

Qin Yulong also furrowed her brows. She had spoken hastily just a moment ago and was scrambling to cover it up.

But after several seconds passed, she couldn’t think of a perfect excuse and simply laughed it off vaguely:

"No? Then I must have been hearing things, how strange."

"Right!" Wenyan immediately went along, "You must have been hearing things. As for me, I actually haven’t seen Third Brother in quite a few years. As to who he looks like, I don’t think he resembles anyone, he just looks like himself."

Qin Yulong nodded.

Wenyan quickly changed the topic: "Do you think Third Brother could help out with our variety show, maybe as a cultural consultant or something?"

Qin Yulong nodded again, "With his academic achievements, of course he can, but the key is whether he agrees. Are you on good terms with him?"

After Qin Yulong asked that, she arched an eyebrow... Forget it, silly question, she hadn’t seen the Shen Family’s third son more than a few times, so how could they be close?

Indeed, Wenyan honestly replied, "Not really, because we are not very familiar. But after all, we are family; maybe he’ll do us the favor. At any rate, we can talk to him when we see him. But when the time comes, we should do it together, okay? I’m worried I won’t be able to persuade him on my own."

"Sure," Qin Yulong chuckled lightly, "It’s rare to see you lack confidence."

Wenyan snorted, "This is to show our sincerity, think about it, if the two main people in charge of the project both make a sincere invitation that must be better than one person negotiating, right? If necessary, we can even ask Second Brother to come; maybe his relationship with Fourth Brother is good, and it’s possible that everything can be settled with just one word by then."

"Makes sense."

The car quickly arrived back at the Shen Family villa.

While parking, the two saw a car they had not seen before, covered in dust, providing a stark contrast to Shen Jingchuan’s luxurious sports car.

"That must be Third Brother’s," Wenyan said with certainty.

Qin Yulong nodded her head: "I heard he’s always either in the field or on the way there; his line of work doesn’t seem easy."

"Right, it must be his dedication and passion!" Wenyan’s tone was just as certain, "If he weren’t passionate, he could easily sit in an office and relax. The fact that he’s so young and has reached his current position, no matter what else, means he must be quite remarkable in his field!"

Chatting about this and that, they went home.

As soon as they entered the living room, Wenyan saw Shen Jingchuan carrying a fruit platter towards the coffee table while everyone else was sitting on the sofa chatting.

Without a second thought, Wenyan walked over and threw an arm around Shen Jingchuan’s neck.

"Look at you being all diligent, even serving fruit to everyone."

Shen Jingchuan, bending from Wenyan’s tug, looked at her with a furrowed brow and a puzzled face.

During that eye contact, Wenyan suddenly widened her eyes.

"Oh my God!! Has it been just a week since I last saw you? Where did you go, to a tanning salon? Why are you two shades darker than before? And your hair, why did you cut it, changing styles now?"

As she spoke, Wenyan reached out to touch Shen Jingchuan’s hair.

But before Wenyan’s fingers could touch even a single strand, her wrist was grasped by him.

Immediately after, a voice that was all too familiar came from beside them.

"Wenyan, what are you doing?"

Wenyan looked towards the voice.

She was out of luck! There stood another Shen Jingchuan—fair-skinned, with neat hair, and a face that expressed incredulity!

Wenyan looked at him, then at the young man in front of her who looked identical to Shen Jingchuan and whom she was clutching by the neck, and it all clicked.

[Goodness me, turns out that Shen Family’s third and fourth sons are twins!]

She had never heard anyone mention this before.

How embarrassing to have mistaken the Shen Family’s Third Brother for the Fourth in front of everyone.

"Hehe," she hurriedly tried to laugh it off, "I got them mixed up, took Third Brother for Fourth Brother. Sorry about that, Third Brother, I just didn’t realize for a moment."

As she spoke, Wenyan quickly let go of Shen Jingcheng, Shen Family’s third son, and straightened the wrinkles on his clothes.

[The look on his face seems like he really disliked my actions just now; it was indeed an overstep, but I didn’t know he was Shen Jingcheng... That’s embarrassing, he seems a bit upset]

While Wenyan thought this, she noticed that Shen Jingcheng didn’t appear to be angry at all.

After regaining his composure, he immediately gave Wenyan a sunny smile.

"No worries, I guess you mistook me for Third Brother. I didn’t believe mom when she said you two were close, but now I do. Come and sit, let’s have some fruit together."
