The Martial Unity-Chapter 3209: Looking Forward
Chapter 3209: Looking Forward
The People’s Prince heaved a lamenting sigh. "It is truly unfortunate that there are people who want to hurt children."
Princess Ranea, on the other hand, didn’t seem too amenable to the stance.
"They disgust me." She closed her eyes. "I understand that they are children, but they are essentially creatures of a different species. And to see little children gushing with blood and then controlling it is..."
She shuddered lightly.
"I don’t blame anybody for wanting to get rid of them."
This was not a rare position.
No matter how well the project sought to integrate the blood children into human civilization, it didn’t change the fact that they were noticeably different from other children. They grew faster, their cognition developed sooner, causing them to develop object permanence, self-awareness, speech, and reading and writing much sooner than human children.
They were obviously superhumanly tough, and that could not be hidden or dampened like their strength could be.
This caused a bit of a gap to arise, one that had been minimized thanks to the Psycher and the Beggar’s Sect, but there was still a minute gap in how they were treated. People could not hide their fear, wariness, and sometimes even disgust.
It wasn’t something Rui could understand.
As someone who had gone through a lot of prejudice due to his features, he hated those who deprived the innocent blood children of the childhood they deserved.
"Nonetheless," his father continued. "The trajectory is generally positive overall. They are integrating into human civilization quite well. We have observed normal displays of human connection, especially among their peers who are too young to even detect any difference."
"That’s good," Rui nodded. "I personally am really looking forward to their development. With Anthea having passed on essentially an even greater boon for his people, we really need to ensure that we make the best of the blood children, otherwise we are truly screwed. In fact, this point is so powerful that I plan to use it in my negotiations. Most of the true world will not know that Anthea evolved his body like the Squire Realm and then passed on those genes to the evolutionaries in Moridia. They will be more inclined to pursue security alliances once they learn of the magnitude of this threat."
"That is a brilliant idea," Emperor Rael mused. "That is indeed a powerful impetus to make the forces of the true world join hands with us. See to it that they understand the sheer magnitude of what is to come."
Rui nodded.
"Will do."
"Are your preparations done?" Emperor Rael raised an eyebrow.
"Almost," Rui replied. "There are a few things that I have sought. For example, I need a supply of primordial seed. I don’t intend to halt my harnessing of this power even when I travel through to the true world. I will need more sophisticated tools as well as a surplus of potions. I don’t think I will be able to maintain contact with the Panama Continent when I’m in the true world, unfortunately. Not until the Elder Tree manages to connect with the flora of the true world. So until then..."
Rui shrugged.
"I will be out of touch with everybody."
"...Figuring out how to make our communication systems compatible with the civilizations of the true world has proven to be difficult," Emperor Rael mused. "It would be easy if we had the Esoterist, but he had been busy with the space station and space technology, which is much more important than anything else. I do not wish to disturb him for trivial matters."
"It’s fine," Rui shook his head. "We were largely out of contact when I traversed human civilization as well."
"Yes, but that was more acceptable since it happened within the restraints of human civilization," Emperor Rael pointed out. "Here you are in the true world. Far, far away from my domain of influence. I cannot offer any support or protection. You are indeed strong, but you may catch a disease native to the true world for which none of us have any immunity for. We have a few such outbreaks, but thankfully, the Blood Cult and the Esocline Federation have managed to keep it in control for the most part."
Rui laughed at those words. "Trust me, no virus can harm me."
The Gu inside his body would voraciously consume any foreign body, with Anthea’s cell being the sole exception to this rule.
He discussed several more matters with his father and siblings about the state of the world, the looming world war, the ensuing race to space, the trials and tribulations that human civilization would have to face, and the Kandrian Empire’s own status as the Royal Family.
"We have gained one more Martial Sage in the past month," Emperor Rael announced. "We are gaining new Martial Sages at an astonishing rate. The treasures that we fought hard to protect during the East Panamic War are paying heavy dividends now. These treasures have allowed us to become the undisputed most powerful nation in the world, and we are only growing stronger and stronger. While we have yet to reach the promised territory, breaking the Great Limit, we are getting there slowly and steadily. However..."
His expression grew grave.
"Given the sheer magnitude of the threat that we face from the true world and the evolutionaries, it might be that this is just the bare minimum for the Panama Continent to be able to stake out its survival."
Rui could only agree with that sentiment.
Once the true world got their hands on the magical power of exotic matter, they were bound to experience a substantially boosted rate of growth as well. Rui knew that what was once enough to secure the Kandrian Empire’s safety beyond all doubt had now become merely the benchmark for being able to even survive in the true world.
"This new era will be even more tumultuous than the Era of Darkness."
It was a new world with new forces that struggled for survival and power.
Rui looked forward to everything it had to offer.
