The Mafia Lord's Secret Lover-Chapter 453: Their Life Was Full - END
After the ceremony...
They are all gathering around the long table for a delicious lunch party.
Oscar sat with a group of guests, telling exaggerated stories that made several people laugh loudly.
At one point during lunch, Axel stood up and lifted his glass. "Everyone," he said calmly.
The small, excited crowds turned their attention toward him.
"I want to thank all of you for being here today," Axel continued. "For supporting our family and sharing this moment with us."
His gaze moved briefly toward Evelyn and their children.
"My wife and I may have been together for a long time already, but today still feels special."
Someone suddenly shouted from another table.
"Because this time you actually invited us!"
The voice belonged to Dylan.
Laughter erupted instantly.
Jackson Lincoln raised his glass dramatically. "Yes! The first wedding was clearly a secret mission. We only heard about it after it was finished."
Axel sighed while shaking his head. "Thank you for your valuable comments," he replied dryly.
More laughter spread across the tables.
But then Axel’s expression softened again.
"Still," he continued, raising his glass slightly higher, "I’m grateful for my family... and for my wife."
He glanced at Evelyn.
"To many more years together."
Everyone raised their glasses.
"To family!"
The garden was filled with cheerful voices.
...
Later that afternoon, after lunch ended and the older family members slowly moved inside to rest, the garden grew quiet.
Evelyn had already changed into her simpler and more comfortable dress. She was sitting in one of the garden seating areas near the lake, enjoying the soft sunlight.
Beside her sat Stella.
"Congratulations, sis," Stella said warmly. "I’m so grateful I could finally attend your wedding. I know it’s a renewal wedding vow, still."
Evelyn laughed softly.
"You should thank my twins for that."
Stella blinked in confusion. "What? How?"
Evelyn glanced toward the lake. She saw her twin... Violet and Magnolia were playing near the water while her son Oliver and Alexander Knight were fishing nearby.
"Well," Evelyn explained, "they saw pictures of my first wedding ceremony, the one that you didn’t attend, and noticed their older brother was there."
Stella burst into laughter. Then asked, "They protested because they didn’t attend?"
"Yeah. And just like you, I laughed, too. But then I realized the twins were really serious about it."
Evelyn nodded helplessly.
"That’s why we arranged this wedding. Besides, Axel wanted to give me a proper ceremony with everyone in the family attending."
She smiled while glancing toward Axel, who was currently talking with Oscar, Collins, Dylan, and several others.
Stella giggled. "The twins really have brilliant ideas and are also hilarious." Then her eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Oh, right, I heard you’re going on your honeymoon after this?"
Evelyn shook her head. "Babymoon." She corrected her while gently stroking her stomach.
Stella immediately looked down at Evelyn’s belly. "Oh, right! I forgot... You’re pregnant again, sis."
"Well," Evelyn smiled, "your brother-in-law is planning to build a soccer team."
"Heck no..." Stella was surprised to hear that. "Seriously?"
"Hm, that’s his plan..." Evelyn chuckled.
"But honestly, sis... You still look even more sexy and gorgeous even though you’re in your second trimester."
"Really?" Evelyn looked down at her belly with a frown. "Don’t flatter me." She let out a dramatic sigh. "Honestly, I wanted to delay the wedding until I’ve given birth."
"But brother-in-law insisted?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
Evelyn rolled her eyes. "Because if our unborn child asks us to remarry again, we can show pictures where I’m pregnant and say, ’Look, you were there too.’"
Stella laughed loudly. "Hahaha, that’s actually smart."
"Too smart," Evelyn muttered.
"Sis," Stella suddenly asked, "you still don’t know the gender?"
"Nope." Evelyn shook her head. "We decided not to check. Whatever God gives us is fine." She then looked at Stella. "What about you?"
Stella smiled softly. "Dylan said we’ll check the gender next week."
Evelyn grabbed her hand excitedly. "You must tell me immediately once you know about your child’s gender!"
"I will."
"I need time to prepare gifts."
Stella’s eyes sparkled mischievously. "Wow... rich aunty."
"Yes?"
"Please buy my child a villa or condominium."
Evelyn rolled her eyes. "Dream on."
Their laughter filled the quiet garden.
But suddenly—
"Mommy!"
A small voice cried out.
Both women turned instantly.
Magnolia came running across the grass toward Evelyn, her small shoes tapping quickly against the ground. Her tiny face looked pitiful, but the expression only made her appear even more adorable.
Her hair bounced as she ran. "Mommy!" she called loudly.
Before Evelyn could even stand, Magnolia threw herself straight into her arms.
"Mommy, please bring Violet and me justice..."
Evelyn blinked once in surprise but quickly wrapped her arms around the little girl. Magnolia’s dramatic entrance made Stella chuckle beside her.
"What happened?" Evelyn asked gently.
Magnolia sniffed as if she had suffered a great injustice. She brushed her smooth hair away from her face and spoke with a very serious tone.
"Big brother... he scolded us." Her small lips pouted as she pointed in the direction of Oliver and Violet by the lake.
Even though she tried her best to look miserable, the result was still incredibly cute.
Evelyn couldn’t help smiling. She hugged Magnolia briefly before leaning back slightly to look at her face.
"Why did big brother scold you?" she asked patiently.
Magnolia blinked several times, thinking hard. Then she answered in a quiet voice. "He said... We are too noisy and will scare the fish in the lake."
Stella immediately covered her mouth to stop herself from laughing.
Evelyn sighed softly, though the corners of her lips still lifted in amusement.
"Alright," she said as she gently stood up. "Stella, I need to take care of them. You go talk with the elders inside."
"Don’t worry about me," Stella replied with a grin as she stood. "I’m going inside before I laugh too loudly."
She waved lightly and walked toward the house where the rest of the family had gathered.
Meanwhile, Evelyn took Magnolia’s small hand.
"Come on," she said softly. "Let’s go talk to your big brother."
They walked across the grass toward the lake.
Near the water, Oliver stood beside his grandfather, Alexander Knight. Both of them were holding fishing rods, staring at the lake’s calm surface with serious concentration.
Oliver looked very focused.
Magnolia, however, immediately pointed at him.
"There! That’s him!"
Evelyn chuckled softly. "Oliver," she called.
The boy turned around, slightly surprised.
Before he could explain anything, Axel suddenly appeared beside them. He must have noticed the little conflict from afar.
"What’s going on here?" he asked calmly.
Magnolia quickly hugs Axel’s leg and looks up into his eyes, saying, "Daddy, brother scolded me..."
"Yes, daddy..." Violet also joined her twin sister, "Brother doesn’t like us."
Axel looked at Oliver direction with a slight frowned. "Did you scold them?" he asked calmly.
Oliver scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "Yes dad. But, they were shouting at the fish..."
Alexander Knight quietly cleared his throat, trying to hide his amusement.
Axel sighed quietly, holding back a laugh. He then leaned her head close to the twins and smiled at them.
"Well," he said, crouching down between them, "maybe we should remember something important."
Both children looked at him.
"In this family," Axel continued seriously, "we solve problems calmly and peacefully."
Magnolia and Violet nodded immediately. "Yes, daddy."
Oliver nodded as well. "I understand."
A moment later, Magnolia quietly apologized.
Oliver awkwardly apologized, too.
The problem was solved within seconds.
Children’s conflicts were often like that—dramatic but brief.
Soon, Magnolia and Violet happily returned to watch the fishing again, and they no longer made any noise, but they enjoyed their snack.
Evelyn stepped slightly away from the children and stood near the edge of the lake.
The water shimmered under the warm spring sun.
Axel’s arms wrapped gently around her waist from behind.
She leaned back into him naturally.
"Even after your wedding ceremony," he murmured near her ear, "you’re still busy being a mother."
Evelyn smiled softly. "That’s my most important job."
Axel smiles. "I love you Evelyn Knight..."
"I love you more, Axel Knight."
They stood there together, watching their children play, surrounded by the laughter and voices of their family and friends.
Evelyn turned slightly in his arms.
Their eyes met.
No words were needed.
They were happy.
Their family was here.
Their life was full.
Axel leaned down and kissed her.
A slow, sweet kiss.
And under the warm spring sun, beside the quiet lake, their story rested peacefully in that moment—surrounded by love.
(The End!)
