The Machine God-Announcing: The Spellforged Magus
Hello everyone. This is not a chapter of the Machine God, but a sneaky advertisement instead.
First, thank you for continuing to read The Machine God. I appreciate all the support and comments :) The past months have been a crazy journey, and I've learned a lot along the way.
Today I'm launching my second story called The Spellforged Magus (I'm sure by now you've realized Alexander gets his terrible naming habits from me). The Machine God will continue as normal, chapters posting at the usual time.
This is the story of Lorenzo Locke, a jeweler with a crippled knee who finds himself, along with the rest of the planet, learning that aliens, monsters, and magic are all very real when a catastrophic deluge of mana-infused blood rains down on Earth.
And kills billions.
As Enzo tackles the new reality he finds himself in, he discovers that mastery of magic involves patience, knowledge, and fine control which half a decade of craft have already given him. And that creating both spells and magic items might just be the only way to save himself, his loved ones, and his planet.
Please consider giving it a read/follow.

The world didn't end with fire or ice. It ended with a rain of blood, and a bureaucratic apology memo from the rest of the galaxy.
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
Luckily, Lorenzo Locke had an umbrella.
Enzo had always been a daredevil. Snowboarder, rock climber, martial artist, skydiver. Anything to get his heart racing. Until the accident set him on a different path. A quieter path, creating bespoke jewelry. Then came the rain. And with it, evidence humanity wasn't alone and that magic was very, very real. But so too were monsters.
Because the dead rise as Eaters; magically evolving, mana-sucking undead. With a taste for hearts and brains.
Worse, Earth is an experimental playground for some powerful forces watching from beyond the solar system's magical barrier. And the only help offered is the Universal Training Guide. A tool that only answers questions after the fact.
Useless.
Fortunately, Enzo has never been one to shy away from a challenge. And what greater challenge could there be than mastering spells and crafting magic items in the middle of an apocalypse? With his rapidly evolving pup, a little sister who doesn't know when to quit, and a group of friends willing to die for each other, they'll stand against anything the world throws at them.
And when he's done with Earth, he's going to find the asshole that sent the shitty apology memo and punch him, her, or it, in the face.
Twice.
