The Lustful Villain: Every Milfs and Gilfs are Mine!-Chapter 229. Putting Him In A Long Dream While I’m Going to Make His Wife Pregnant!
"The council met this morning," Diana said. "Grandma’s recommendation went through..."
"Apollo is currently in the restricted quarters, and the system assessment begins today."
"How long is the assessment period?"
"Two weeks minimum," Diana said. "Possibly four."
"They won’t know until they see the system’s profile under controlled conditions."
Rex took this in. He had already planned for two weeks, so this was the same two-week window.
During that time, Apollo was in the restricted quarters, which meant that his harem, what was left of it, was moving around the city without its main anchor.
This made things harder for Rex, but he was able to adapt because he loved something new and even challenging.
Nerith and Mireya were both still around. Talyra and Aisella were both still here.
There was going to be a different social and emotional state for the four of them than there had been before last night, and they were going to have to deal with it mostly without Apollo.
His focus could shift to Nerith and Mireya, since both Talyra and Aisella were already his.
Rex thought about this as he looked at the cordoning.
For a moment, Lily was quiet next to him.
Then she said, in the tone she used for things she had been thinking about for a while before she said them, "Some of the people who got injured last night are in the Academy’s medical wing."
"Aisella has been there since this morning."
Rex said, "I’ll go tomorrow."
"The people who are awake have been asking about you." Lily nodded. "Some of them saw you in the northern district during the evacuation."
"Why would they want to meet someone as unimportant as me?"
"Well, they said you didn’t stop," Lily said. "The whole time the shockwave was affecting the northern district, people kept saying they saw you moving toward the blast zone while everyone else was moving away from it."
Rex didn’t respond upon hearing that, but he knew his plan had worked and that he would become an even more respectable person in Aethelgard because of his actions.
"I know what that cost you," Lily said, quietly. "I know you didn’t do it for free."
Rex said, "No one does anything for free these days."
"No," she said. "But there’s a difference between doing something because it helps you and doing something because it’s right."
"You can do both at the same time, and that’s still not nothing."
Rex turned to her.
When she showed him that look, it was the same one she had when she had thought about something carefully and come to a conclusion she wanted him to have.
She was giving it to him without expecting anything in return, which was different from how most people offered conclusions.
"This girl... I truly trained her to be very capable and obedient."
He briefly wrapped his arm around her shoulders, and she nestled into him for as long as he allowed. After that, they continued walking.
"You’re a good girl, Lily."
"I learn from the best..."
Diana noticed Lily getting affection and felt left out, so Rex began to do the same with her as well. "You too, Diana."
"Thank you..." Diana blushed.
She couldn’t help but smile as Rex hugged her tightly, and they all laughed. At that moment, they felt like they belonged, as if their connection was getting stronger.
"It has been a while since I last saw Helena. Where is she now?" Rex asked, noticing Diana’s frustrated expression.
Lily noticed Diana’s frustration too and decided to answer his question. "She’s on a very important mission outside Aethelgard."
"When she returns, I’ll invite you over so you can chat and meet her." Lily winked.
Rex understood what she meant. ’Oh... right... Diana and Helena are still fighting because of me, huh?’
’Good... good... that fucking bitch needs the truth after I break both of her daughters.’
They continued to walk around Aethelgard in that manner.
The city remained, though it was damaged. It was inhabited, yet different from what it had been the previous morning. It moved forward in the particular way things do after absorbing a significant event, still uncertain about what they would become on the other side of it.
Rex walked through the city, sensing the possibilities shifting into new forms, mirroring the uncertainty and transformation that followed the significant event he had just experienced.
His thoughts drifted to Nerith and Mireya, reflecting on what Lustia had mentioned about the catalog and the distinction between outright destruction and the manipulation of the pace and direction of that destruction.
As they walked, the afternoon light shifted westward across the city.
By the time they turned back toward the Silver Rest, it took on the quality of early evening, adopting the hues characteristic of a day drawing to a close rather than continuing onward.
...
Rex returned to the inn and ate the dinner that Mara had saved for him.
Afterward, he spent an hour in the common room, fulfilling the role that Rex Rexilion was expected to play following an event like last night: being present and embodying exactly what the people around him needed.
Once he finished, he went upstairs and took a twenty-minute bath in the warm water provided by the inn in ceramic containers.
He dried off, slipped into the light clothes he had worn to bed, and sat on the edge of the bed for a moment. Looking out the window at the city lights, he saw they were still there—still the Aethelgard he knew—despite the destruction he had caused the day before.
He had been sitting there for about three minutes when the knock came.
Three light knocks against the door, evenly spaced, conveyed the distinct quality of someone confident in their knocking yet mindful of the volume.
Rex walked across the room and opened the door.
It was Mara Kesson, standing in the hallway wearing a robe that wasn’t the working robe she typically donned in the mornings or the comfortable home robe she preferred in the evenings.
It was the only robe she had that she could wear for specific occasions.
She was still looking at him the same way she had been for the first few months, with the same look that had been at its peak for a long time and showed no signs of changing.
"Garrett has been asleep since nine," she said in a conversational tone, using the voice she reserved for discussing matters that were not actually straightforward. "He’s a heavy sleeper, you know that."
"I know," Rex said.
"And I was thinking," she said in the same voice with a blushing face, "that this isn’t a very safe time of the month for me."
She looked him in the eye.
"I thought you should know that," she said.
Rex stared at her for a long time. The full weight of what Lustia had told him about the catalog and the event threshold was like a door that had just become visible where there had only been a wall.
’She came to me herself...’ Rex smirked. ’Oh, Mara... I knew that you were the first girl that’s worth everything I’ve done since the beginning.’
"If you did get pregnant tomorrow... wouldn’t he know and feel suspicious?"
Mara made a surprised reaction. "Uhm... yeah... It’s been a while since we had sex, and I don’t want to do it anymore with him because I have you."
"Oh no... what are we supposed to do...? I’m feeling all... pent up right now..."
Rex then thinks of a plan and remembers that he still has 500 points to spend. He already knows which skill will definitely be a game changer.
"Alright, let’s do it in your bedroom where he is in it," Rex smiled.
"Huh...? Are you sure...?" Mara asked with an uncertain look. "What if we get caught...?"
"We won’t. He’s deep asleep, enjoying the dream he’s having of making a child with you." Rex said, related to the idea.
Mara went silent for a second, but then Rex asked again, "You want it or not?"
Then, her eyes began to display a symbol of love. "Yes... let’s do it."
Both of them started to walk toward Mara’s bedroom, and Rex was already opening his system interface to purchase the skill he needed, which is...
[DREAM MANIPULATION — ACQUIRED]

[ADDITIONAL NOTE: EMOTIONAL RESIDUE FROM THE CONSTRUCTED DREAM CARRIES OVER INTO THE SUBJECT’S WAKING STATE. PROLONGED USAGE SHAPES LONG-TERM BEHAVIORAL DISPOSITION.]
’Just what I needed...’
’Enjoy your dream, Garrett.’ Rex said this as he arrived at Mara’s bedroom and looked at Garrett, who was asleep.
He gave Garrett something pleasant. A long, comfortable dream with Mara where tomorrow he’s going to get the good news that he finally made Mara pregnant.
He looked up at Mara, who closed the bedroom’s door.
"Now," Rex said.
"Where were we?"
