The Lust Lord Librarian-Chapter 24: The Everstone Party III
Whilst Juliette was recovering from her orgasm, and using a handkerchief left on the balcony table to clean herself to the best of her ability, Adal checked his system.
He had levelled up.
[You Have Reached Level 7!]
[Select A Skill!]
For this level, Adal was only given the option to choose from all the previous options he had been given.
He chose Mana Coating, so that he could use the dagger on his hip as a magical weapon.
Once done, he looked back at Juliette.
She had fixed her dress, but the mess on the floor was still there.
Most importantly, she had the look of love in her eyes. A look she had never given her husband.
"I-I need to head to the bathroom to clean myself properly."
She stuttered over the words, still dazed from her fucking.
Adal nodded his head. He would have offered to take her there, but it was important to leave at separate times, in case someone at the ball spotted them together.
She left with shaky legs, and Adal waited a few moments before leaving himself and making his way back towards the rooftop.
However, on the way there, he was stopped by a large amount of noise heading up the stairs.
"Look, his majesty is here!"
The commotion was growing louder and louder.
The nobles were crowded around two figures, slowly making their way up the stairs.
Adal recognised the man immediately.
A marvellous red suit lined with gold.
A white cape draped over his shoulders.
Luscious golden hair, bright as the sun.
Tall, charming.
This was the prince of the Torn Kingdom, George Wellington.
Adal could hardly believe that the man was here. It was rare for him to attend balls, let alone one that he himself had been invited to.
However, it wasn’t only the Prince that caught Adal’s eye.
Next to him was a very notorious figure in the realm.
She looked different from everyone else at the party.
She wore a white dress that fell from her shoulders, revealing snow-pale skin.
Her hair was of the same unnatural shade, like all the colour had been taken from it.
Her eyes were an unnatural shade of pink, unlike those of any normal human.
Her body was tall and curvy, and she walked with her chin high.
Princess Iris Overlove of the Iglantis Kingdom.
The Iglantis people were born north of the Torn Kingdom, but not too far that they ended up in the Black Elf Territory.
Although they were human, many people saw them as separate from regular humans.
This was because of their unnatural appearances, and their strange affinity to magic.
It was said that the number of awakened amongst the Iglantis people was double that of those in the Torn Kingdom.
The King of the Torn Kingdom, Henry Wellington, had married off his Son, George Wellington, to an Iglantis Princess, in hopes of finally uniting their people.
However, it would take a while for both kingdoms to get used to this weird alliance.
The prince and princess made their way to the rooftop to join the other nobles with a crowd following behind them, hoping to earn the favour of the two powerful figures.
Adal didn’t feel like heading out there.
He had given out some of his novels and fucked one of his women.
His time at the ball was finished.
Though he knew he had to stay for at least another hour, to please Leonard Everstone.
So, he lifted another glass of wine from a server and found a quiet place to relax on the highest floor.
He sipped his wine, read his book, and let time pass.
Before he knew it, an hour had gone by.
Adal pushed himself to his feet to stretch.
I think I have spent enough time here now.
However, just as he was about to head downstairs, he was stopped by a figure standing on the steps below him.
Adal was not a man who could be easily flustered, he had to admit that at that moment, he felt nervous.
He flashed a smile at the man in red.
"Your Majesty." He said respectfully.
The dashing man was alone, which was a surprise.
His blue eyes pierced through Adal. It was like he was weighing him up.
"You are meant to bow when in front of royalty." George Wellington said in a powerful voice.
Yet for some reason, Adal did not feel like obeying.
He stood there for a few moments, simply staring back at the prince.
He wondered whether the Prince was awakened, and if so, what level was he?
Would he find out through battle, now that he had disrespected the Prince?
"..."
George Wellington suddenly laughed and clapped a hand down on Adal’s shoulder.
The tension between them was instantly relieved.
"I am kidding, my good man. You’re Adal Alexandrus, correct? I have heard you were giving out copies of your novel today. Though I never have time to visit the library myself, my servants often go there to fetch me books. I am an avid reader, you see, even if I do not look it."
Once again, Adal was caught by surprise.
He had never expected the prince to be like this. Talkative, and even friendly.
Adal wasted no time handing the man a copy.
"I would have never taken you for a reader?" He spoke to the Prince casually, which made him smile.
"What a breath of fresh air it is, to be able to speak to a fellow man that doesn’t lick my boots." The Prince said. "But yes, I am a reader. I have read many novels from your library, and so has my wife, Iris."
Even the Iglantis Princess knows of my library? It seems the Alexandrus name is more popular than I thought.
"If I enjoy this novel, then I will have her read it too. She could spread your name to the Iglantis Kingdom. However I must warn you, Adal, I am a very picky reader."
By the time he had finished the sentence, the Prince was already heading back downstairs. It seemed he was preparing to leave the party.
Adal let him go, as he too was ready to head back home.
As he did, he couldn’t help himself from looking forward to what the future might hold.
My name has spread to the royal family...
What does this mean for me?
