The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad-Chapter 547: Your Business Is My Business
After arriving at Gabriel Jacobs’ place, she nervously pressed the doorbell.
The door was quickly opened by someone, and she saw Gabriel Jacobs, unable to resist throwing herself into his arms.
"Gabriel, you haven’t contacted me these days. I was so worried, thinking you were really mad at me."
At her age, Faye Holloway still treated herself like a little girl, her actions overly affected.
Gabriel Jacobs suppressed the urge to throw her out and pulled her to sit beside him. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"Faye, let’s play a game, don’t struggle."
Faye Holloway was delighted, thinking he was getting more and more romantic, even knowing how to play games with her.
"Sure."
She agreed readily, and when Gabriel Jacobs tied her up with ropes, she didn’t refuse, and was even quite willing.
Stupid woman, really beyond saving.
Once Gabriel Jacobs had tied her up, his true colors finally showed.
"Now call Vivian and tell her to quickly transfer the money to my account."
Faye Holloway was stunned, but upon realizing, her tone turned gentle.
"Gabriel, I said before, what’s yours is mine. I’ll persuade our daughter, but she’s been hiding in Jude Shaw’s villa and absolutely refuses to see me lately."
She hadn’t finished speaking when Mae Summers came out of the house, a woman she’d recognize even if she turned to dust.
Faye Holloway’s face turned pale instantly, hadn’t Gabriel said he was divorced from Mae Summers? Why would Mae Summers still appear here?
Mae Summers remained calm, sitting down on a nearby chair, looking at Faye Holloway bound up, a trace of disdain on her face.
"After so many years, Faye, your intelligence hasn’t improved at all."
"Mae Summers! What are you doing here?!"
Faye Holloway was furious, struggling to get up, but Gabriel’s tying skills were excellent, leaving her immobile.
Mae Summers smirked slightly, taking out her phone and placing it in front of her.
"Call Vivian Jacobs, or you’ll suffer today."
Faye Holloway gritted her teeth. No matter how stupid she was, she realized the situation now.
"Have you been clinging to Gabriel all along? No wonder he hasn’t come looking for me over the years, it’s all because of you!"
In Faye’s mind, Gabriel was perfect, and such perfection couldn’t be ruined by anyone.
"Smack!"
Mae Summers slapped her twice, even making her own hand hurt from the impact.
"I’m not negotiating with you; I’m threatening you. If you don’t make this call, I can slash your face right now."
Women of any age care about their face.
Faye Holloway was indeed frightened and looked at Gabriel for help.
"Gabriel, I know you’re being forced. You’ve seen how vicious this woman is. Once our daughter pays, you should cut ties with her. Gabriel, I’m the one who truly loves you; you’ll understand one day."
Gabriel’s eyes flickered; Faye Holloway’s thinking was truly off, perhaps akin to a mental illness.
"Faye, you should quickly call our daughter. If Mae is seriously going to slash your face, I wouldn’t be able to stop her."
Gabriel’s eyes were filled with emotion as he held her hand.
"If I can’t pay that money back soon, I’ll die, Faye. Don’t you love me? If I die, you’ll never see me again."
Hearing this, Faye Holloway was momentarily stupefied. At the thought of Gabriel dying, she became instantly anxious.
"Is that true? Gabriel, I don’t want you to die. I’ll call Vivian; just bring me my phone."
Gabriel and Mae Summers exchanged a glance, both with a hint of sarcasm in their eyes, and then handed her the phone.
Faye Holloway was genuinely nervous. After calling Vivian, her tone was extremely agitated.
"Your dad is about to die, forced to death by those people. Vivian, do you want me to die too? Please, help your dad. I’m begging you, Vivian, if you don’t help, the next thing you see will be my corpse."
Vivian Jacobs clenched her fingers, wondering what on earth her mother was thinking.
"Mom, I’ve married Jude Shaw, but I’m not in charge of the money."
"A woman should manage household finances, especially since you’re married. Even if you ask for money, he won’t refuse. Vivian, your mom is counting on you."
Faye Holloway sobbed while speaking, "If something happens to your dad, I won’t live either. You better think this through. I’ve raised you all these years; don’t you even want to help with this little favor?"
Vivian was furious, but she didn’t know what to say to her mother. Perhaps Faye didn’t really grasp how much eight hundred million was, only knowing that Jude Shaw could provide the money, and that obtaining this money could help her.
Vivian felt a fire burning inside her and believed that her mother was capable of anything. If something happened to Gabriel, Faye definitely wouldn’t survive, as she lived for him all these years.
"Mom, are you really going to force me like this? In your heart, is there only Gabriel? Have you ever considered what would happen to me?"
Faye was angry, having raised her daughter all these years, yet she wasn’t even willing to help with such a small matter?
"Vivian! No matter what, you’re still his daughter. Helping is the right thing to do. I’ve said my piece; if this isn’t resolved within three days, you’ll be seeing my corpse. I mean it!"
Faye quickly hung up the phone, and when she met Gabriel’s gaze, her expression softened.
"Gabriel, don’t worry, Vivian cares a lot about me and will surely help pay off the money. You’ll be fine."
Gabriel breathed a sigh of relief, his demeanor towards her improving slightly.
Mae Summers, however, snorted coldly on the side; this woman might be a bit foolish but was quite useful in critical moments.
"Untie me, Gabriel. I won’t leave you. Being tied up like this is too uncomfortable."
Faye started to plead, and her voice made Gabriel want to vomit, but he patiently untied her.
"Smack!"
As soon as the ropes were removed, Faye slapped Mae Summers across the face.
"You vile woman! Did you see who can actually help Gabriel in a critical moment? If you have any sense, it’s best to leave here soon! Don’t stand in the way of our marriage!"
Mae Summers’ face was skewed from the slap, burning painfully. When had she ever suffered such humiliation before? She was always the one doing the slapping.
Gabriel’s brow twitched violently; truly, words failed him regarding Faye Holloway.
"Gabriel, why are you looking at me like that? This woman clinging to you is at fault in the first place, or else we would have been married long ago."
Faye was utterly self-assured, attempting again to throw herself into his embrace, but Mae grabbed hold of her hair.
"How dare you hit me?! What do you think you are?!"
Being slapped by Faye was the biggest humiliation.
