The last Vampire with the Hero summoner system: I get 5x their powers-Chapter 83: Ascension [4]
The damage done in the morning had been worsened by walking around it seems. He seriously needed like a week to recover from that much damage to the muscles.
I shook my head, maybe not. This wasn’t Earth. The novice-level potion should fix him. If not, Alya’s blood or any healer from Sepherdia could.
I really needed to get used to these new norms.
"This is where all Veil materials are stored and contorted. There needs to be even more security here because the material this place possesses is simply priceless; many good men died for them." Suge declared solemnly.
Subaru grew silent before giving a slow nod awkwardly. He clearly wasn’t trying to be rude, just complaining.
With that said, Suge strutted forward confidently, satisfied at Subaru’s compliance. He joined both his hands in front of the cubic wooden door, mumbling chants for over four minutes.
Our eyes squinted as strong gusts of freezing wind hit us. I raised my hand over my eyes, trying to see as the door inch-by-inch pushed itself back, revealing an ominous black portal-like entrance after a few seconds.
"When we enter inside, don’t think of stealing or taking anything." Suge nodded towards us.
"Really now? I thought we were friends! Have some faith in us." I complained without holding back.
Suge frowned, "It’s not that. I have full trust in you three. But [Jaw of Treachery] is a Mythical-grade artifact. It will smite you to instant death at even a singular thought suggesting stealing."
"I–I... I see," My face had lost all its colours. All my focus automatically went to my thoughts, not letting a single one escape.
We had to crawl to enter. I was worried at first as both Suge and I were built like tanks, Suge even more so, but the black portal just grew in size to let us pass through.
Oh my God! I felt crying at the sight that welcomed my eyes. From the sheer beauty of it.
Everything was pitch-black. From floor to ceiling to walls. But, there were red, yellow, and white dots spread all across the pitch-blackness at random distances, but still very packed; they were the source of light that only made visible what needed to be.
Leaving most of the area to look like a starry sky, but even more exceptional as the starry "sky" extended everywhere. Countless wooden shelves that went as far as the eye could see were the only thing covering most of the area.
The shelves had countless glass containers, some bigger than others, packing the shelves to the limit. Each glass jar had a clean label on it.
[Tanned Rose], [Ninetail’s tail], [Pure Obsidian]...
I fanatically went through all that I could see, but unfortunately, I couldn’t see past the jar, even with [Eye of Sanguine].
"No wonder the headquarters were hidden so well." Alya marveled, taking a cool breath in.
"This collection is comparable to the one at the palace, which is one of the biggest collections in the Nocthra Empire, worth trillions of gold pounds.
No, no one would sell anything like this; it is quite literally priceless." Alya looked like she was talking to herself.
But her words had widened Suge’s chest by a margin, clearly taking pride in Sepherdia’s collection being compared to the Nocthra Empire’s.
I was shivering after listening to Alya, my red eyes glowing like a child’s at getting his favorite toy when I looked at the jars. Trillions of gold pounds... I hissed at the figure.
Though I quickly slapped my face before I could feel any greed for obvious reasons.
Suge walked towards the right corner of the massive room with apparently no end.
As we followed, ogling around like a girl on a all-girls’ trip to Miami, we reached a small study table. It had no place being in a majestic, magical place like this.
Suge seated himself and tapped on the wooden desk like he was typing on a keyboard. But there was just the wooden surface, so he looked like an autistic child pretending to be a hacker.
After a few minutes of waiting, Shwiiiii!!
A piercingly loud sound, like thousands of crows screaming at the same time, startled us back to attention, who were starting to enjoy the starry sky aesthetic.
I was feeling rather romantic too, wrapping my arm around Alya’s soft and curvaceous waist.
"Saiikd Shark’s spinal bone, Warlord Goblin’s fang, Darkhorse’s tail, and lesser dragon’s nail," Suge said flatly, pointing at the left side of the table that was filled with glass jars.
Then he pointed at the right, "Red Seraphim Lily petals, Dried Graveborn Leech, powdered vampiric lesser dragon bones." He glanced at Alya, "the brewer’s blood."
"What we are missing is Silver Nightshade herb extract." He finished with a tired sigh, as if he knew how annoying it would be to get it.
My heart was beating like a drum. The whole concept had itched my nerd bone very aggressively.
Then his fingers moved to another side of the left side, "Now for spirit assassin, Midnight bloomed Ghost Orchid and powdered Shade Mantis Carapace.
We have Wraithmoss, Moonwater, and Whisperwind Feather." Suge nodded towards me.
"If we know where to get them, we will, of course, do our very best to get them. Don’t worry, you will feel like a pampered princess when we do all the work ourselves." I nodded back with a grin. He already knew how capable we three were.
He chuckled bitterly, clearly not buying it. "We will see about that! Anyways, are you ready?" He raised an eyebrow towards Subaru while tapping the jars on the left side lightly.
He just closed in to stand next to the chair Suge was seated at, taking very deep breaths with closed eyes, trying to focus.
Both Alya and I were ogling and watching him like children watching their dad fix something, trying to learn everything about drinking potions.
"You should have done this before, but let me still warn you, don’t lose consciousness. No matter how much it hurts or how sleepy you feel...."
"If I did, I would be forever trapped in the infinity zone in the spirit world." Subaru finished Suge’s sentence. "Don’t worry, I have no plans of becoming brain-dead. Save that for those two."
Suge nodded in acknowledgement, knowing this must be child’s play for Subaru, who had digested Transcendent grade Veils of ascension. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
With a flick of his finger, Suge summoned a steel pan-like container, but with slightly higher borders, pouring the jars’ contents from the left side into it.
